J. Frank Myers

J. Frank Myers, 94, of Fairview Manor, Bucyrus, formerly of Upper Sandusky, died at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002. He was born Feb. 3, 1908 to Floyd and Mary (Linson) Myers. On Oct. 15, 1928 he married Velma M. Struble, she died Oct. 5, 1990.

Surviving include: a son, Frank J. Myers of Bucyrus; two daughters, Mary L. Rife of Upper Sandusky, and Mrs. Margaret McDannel of Marion; six grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Graveside services at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Oak Hill cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

There will be no visitations. Lucas Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky is handling the arrangements.

Doris M. Zulauf

Doris M. Zulauf, 75, of 13869 SH 231, Nevada, died in her home at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002. She was born March 14, 1927 in Bucyrus to Fred V. and Mabel (Clingman) Gray. On Aug. 19, 1950 she married Robert C. Zulauf, and he survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Carl R. Zulauf of Columbus, and Fred Zulauf of Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks of Nevada, and Mrs. Joyce Bouillon of Tiffin; a sister, Mary Jane Weiland of Bay Village; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Graveside services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002 at Oakwood cemetery, Bucyrus.

Visitation, tonight, from 6-8 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, Nevada.

Michelle Lynn Ruffing

Michelle Lynn Ruffing, 28, of Columbus, formerly of Carey, died at 10:23 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002. She was born Jan. 26, 1974 to Tony (Shirley) Ruffing of Carey, and Gloria Puchta-Mullen of Columbus.

Also surviving include: maternal grandparents, Donald and Doris Puchta of Findlay, and Donna Mullen of Upper Sandusky; two sisters, Kelli Hillis of Columbus, and Jacqueline Ruffing of Canton; a step-brother, Tommy Jarrell of Findlay; two step sisters, Sherrie Jarrell of Findlay, and Joyce Fizer of Florida; niece and nephew.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002 at The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation. Burial at St. Mary's cemetery, Carey.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. Christian wake service 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Elda M. Treier

Elda M. Treier, 88, of Bloomdale, Ohio, died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at Heritage Manor in Findlay. She was born Feb. 15, 1914 to William and Alta (Mincks) Wasson. On Feb. 27, 1937 she married Kenneth C. Treier, he died March 20, 1975.

Surviving include: two sons, Don and Dean Treier, both of Bloomdale; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Services 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002 at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial at Weaver cemetery, Bloom Twp., Ohio.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

James R. Smith

James R. Smith, 72, 66 Darby Road, Tiffin, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 6, 1930, in Fremont, to the late Archie and Ester (Gormley) Smith. On June 10, 1950, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married Antonette Gaietto. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Timothy and (Carol) Smith of Huron, Douglas and (Barbara) Smith of Tiffin and Martin and (Kim) Smith of Bellevue; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Barbara) Faeth of New Riegel, Mrs. Craig (Teresa) Neifer of Republic and Mrs. Lynn (Rebecca) Kelbley of New Riegel; two brothers, Archie and Kenneth Smith, both of Fremont; two sisters, Helen Witter and Ruby Kapp, also of Fremont; and 17 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a son, Stephen Smith; two brothers, Charles and Cletus Smith; two sisters, Dora Cunningham and Ester Burkett and a granddaughter, Lisa Faeth.

Mr. Smith, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, retired in 1984 as an expeditor for General Electric.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Conrad Sutter as celebrant. The rosary will be prayed at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Heartland Hospice, St. Mary Catholic Church Renovation Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.

Sarah J. Kraylek

Sarah J. Kraylek, 63, of 250 W. Lytle St., Fostoria, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born May 15, 1939, in Bloomdale to Charles A. and Rose M. (Valenti) Sherlock who are deceased. She married Ronald J. Kraylek on July 4, 1960, in Risingsun and he survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: four sons, Craig Cole, Ronald "Bosco" Kraylek, Jr., R. Jay Kraylek and Scott Kraylek all of Fostoria; a daughter, Ronna Russell of Fostoria; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Robert Charles Sherlock of Fostoria; and a sister, Marilyn Louise Hitchings of Fostoria.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria and visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lucy Elizabeth Sammet

Lucy Elizabeth Sammet, 86, of Wyandot County Home, Upper Sandusky and formerly of Crawford, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, in Wyandot County Nursing Home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Gallia County, Ohio, to Frank and Augusta (Glenn) McCarley.

She married Lawrence W. Sammet May 29, 1941, and he died July 7, 1982.

Survivors include: a son, Richard "Dick" L. Sammet of Carey; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with burial in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Wilma J. Kenner

Wilma J. Kenner, 76, of 850 Marseilles Ave., Upper Sandusky, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

She was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Logan to the late Wilbur J. Dennison and Waveline E. (Congrove) Dennison. She married Charles V. Kenner Oct. 6, 1946. He died July 26, 1983.

Surviving are: a son, C. Daniel Kenner of Sycamore; a daughter, Deborah E. Kenner-Sanchez of Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Dennison of Upper Sandusky and Donald Dennison of Fostoria; three sisters, Patricia Tong of Upper Sandusky, Nancy Fredrick of Findlay and Linda Lane of rural Wharton.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery in Sycamore.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Virgil Milum

Virgil Milum, 66, of 302 Kilbourne St., Sycamore, died at 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

He was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Belle Vernon to the late Harry E. and Esther M. (Long) Milum. He married Dorthea (Curry) Milum April 6, 1957. She survives in Sycamore.

Also surviving are: two sons, Danny V. Milum of rural Tiffin and Kevin L. Milum of Upper Sandusky; two daughters, Karen Swartz of Yellville, Ark., and Denise Stock of rural New Riegel; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild; two brothers, Harold E. Milum of Upper Sandusky and Dennis Milum of Fostoria.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Spring Grove cemetery in Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are being handled by the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore.

James Edward Buckner

James Edward Buckner, 82, of St. Cloud, Fla., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2002. Born in Asheville, N.C., he was a barber and a lathe operator for National Machinery. Mr. Buckner was a graduate of the Jr. Home of Tiffin, Class of 1938. He was a Methodist.

Mr. Buckner was a member of V.F.W., D.A.V. and a Pearl Harbor survivor.

He is survived by his wife, June, of St. Cloud, Fla.; three sons, Ronald of Tiffin, Dennis of Fostoria, and Jeffrey of New York; a daughter, Beverly Buckner of Mazula, Mont.; a step-son, William Williams of Tiffin; two step-daughters, Jackye Cluff of Ashley and Jeanne Williams of Apopka, Fla.; a brother, Richard Klingshirn of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m.Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Fisk Funeral Home and Crematory, 1107 Massachusetts Ave., St. Cloud, Fla., with the Rev. Richard Humston of the First United Methodist Church of St. Cloud officiating. Burial will be in Mount Peace cemetery in St. Cloud, FL 34769.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home.

Ruth E. Brubaker

Ruth E. Brubaker, 95, of Park Cliff Manor in Toledo, formerly of 10 Rosewood Drive, Tiffin, died 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at the manor.

She was born Aug. 10, 1907, in Republic, to the late Robert L. and Charlotte (Schell) Cook. She married Lester L. Brubaker on June 19, 1932, in Fostoria. He died Feb. 22, 1983.

Surviving are: two sons, Arlen D. Brubaker of Maumee and Burton Dale Brubaker of Midland, Mich.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be at Fairmont cemetery. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Richard A. Agerter

Richard A. Agerter, 56, 188 Riverside Dr., Tiffin, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born Aug. 7, 1946, in Tiffin, to Cecil and Leota (Cooley) Agerter. He married Janice E. (Mizen) Agerter on July 9, 1987, in the Washington Street United Methodist Church. She survives.

Also surviving are: his mother, Leota Agerter of Tiffin; a son, Bradley A. Agerter of Columbus; a daughter, Kimberly Sauber of Tiffin; a step-son, Jeremy L. Welch of Lexington, Ky.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Perry, Mrs. Terry (Marlene) Comer and Mrs. Donald (Karen) Hager, all of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Seth Hoover, Shiloh Sauber and Shelbi Sauber, all of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Agerter.

Mr. Agerter retired in April 2002 from American Standard where he worked for 36 years in the shipping department.

He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2858 and the Seneca Krusiers. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Ohio State University, Cleveland Indians and a Nascar sports fan. He attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mr. Agerter was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Tiffin, with Military Graveside Services conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, or to a charity of the donor's choice, or to be used at the family's discretion.

Eldon Burdell Weaver

Eldon Burdell Weaver of McAllen, Texas, and originally of Tiffin, died about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at McAllen Nursing Center. He was 76.

Mr. Weaver was born July 21, 1926 to Clifford and Mabel Weaver. They are deceased. He married Ruth F. Reuter in 1945 in Tiffin, and they later divorced.

He is survived by: his wife, Helen Hutchins of McAllen; his ex-wife, in Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Diane F. (Patrick) Eldridge of Phoenix; four sons, James R. (Diane) Weaver of Columbus, Michael E. (Renee) Weaver of Hamler, Jeffrey M. (Diane) Weaver of Tiffin and Robert T. (Deborah) Weaver of Tiffin; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren and step grandchildren; and a brother, Dalton (Helen Rose) Weaver, of Tehachapi, Calif.

A brother, Kenneth, and two sisters, Betty and Alberta, are deceased.

Mr. Weaver had worked for Acme Electric in Tiffin and had retired from the maintenance department at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin. He and Helen enjoyed traveling after retirement and eventually settled at McAllen Mobile Park, where they had many friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at McAllen Mobile Park and in Tiffin.

Gilbert L. Dunn

Gilbert L. Dunn, 66, of Ames St., Clyde, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Fremont.

He was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Columbus, to the late Jasper and Vena (Workman) Dunn. He married Betty (Ebright) Dunn on Nov. 3, 1956. She survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Gilbert Dunn of Fremont; a grandson; four sisters, Esta Dawson, of California, Etta Jane Bays of South Carolina, Charlotte Summerfield of Carroll and Jeanette of Columbus.

Mr. Dunn was a U.S. Army veteran in the 2nd Armored Division.

Graveside Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McPherson cemetery, Veteran's section with Military Services provided by the Clyde American Legion and Clyde V.F.W. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde.

Elizabeth Ann Lehmann

Elizabeth Ann Lehmann, 91, formerly of Risingsun, died 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in St. Catherine's Care Center in Fostoria.

She was born Nov. 23, 1911, in West Millgrove, to Thomas and Floy (Michener) Sawyer. She married Leo J. Lehmann Aug. 18, 1932, in Millersville. He died Nov. 23, 1991.

Surviving are: a son, Richard Lehmann of Fostoria; four daughters, Barbara Moor of Bradner, Donna Pesch of Chardon, Joann Kemenah of Risingsun and Eileen (Susie) Hiser of Butler, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and16 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday in St.Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Parish cemetery in Millersville.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 6:30 p.m.

Kathryn E. Harrison

Kathryn E. Harrison, 102, died 10:33 p.m. at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria, where she was a resident.

She was born Aug. 9, 1900, in Seneca County, to Irvin and Alice (Wyer) Trumbo. She married Ray W. Harrison on Sept. 12, 1917, in Hancock County. He died Oct. 9, 1968.

Surviving are: two sons, Royal and Frank Harrison, both of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Shaull of Tiffin; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Florence Trumbo and a granddaughter, Janet Schmidt.

Mrs. Harrison was a homemaker and member of the Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Fostoria. She was a former member of Women's Christian Temperance Union and United Methodist Woman of the Church.

Funeral will be 1:30 pm. Saturday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Staats officiating. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Fostoria or to a charity of the donor's choice.
