Jerry Nelson Starcher, 63, of Zanesville, died at 4:14 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2002 at his residence. He was born December 24, 1939 in Zona, WV a son of the late Cecil & Wilma Sleeth Starcher. He retired from Buckeye Supply Co.

Surviving is one daughter, Marcia and companion Paul Grether of Zanesville; granddaughter, Thea Greather of Zanesville; longtime special friend, Theresa Goddard of Wheeling, WV; four brothers, Bob Starcher of Zanesville, William "Bill" Starcher of Spencer, WV, Howard Starcher of Sandyville, WV, & Glen Starcher of Fairplain, WV; four sisters, Mary Bailey of Chloe, WV,
Ruth Casto of Spencer, WV, Edie Miller of Spencer, WV, and Frances Lane of Ravenswood, WV; ten nephews and four nieces; several great nieces & nephews; several step- great nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents; brother, Webster Lee Starcher; two nephews, Richard & Cory Starcher.

A Caring cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio.

Family request memorial contributions may be made to Bolin Funeral Home for funeral expenses in Jerry's name.

Sarah ( Sally ) Bresock

Sarah ( Sally) Bresock, 96 of McConnelsville, died at 4:25 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. She was born September 20, 1906 at Belmont Co., Ohio a daughter of the late Emlyn Garfield & Sarah Montgomery Hepburn.

She was a member of The Church of the Gospel Ministry in McConnelsville.

Surviving are two daughters, Loas ( Rudy) Gerlach of New Concord & Margaret ( Betty ) Drake of Malta, brother, Dixon Hepburn of Toronto, two sisters, Elizabeth Haught of Jacobsburg & Eloise Shields of Windham, eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Elmer Howard Bresock, three brothers, Kenneth, Charles, & John Hepburn, sister, Amy Halliday and son-in-law, Ted Drake.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home,1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 1:00 p.m.Thursday, April 3, 2003 with Rev. Galen Finley officiating.Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville, Ohio.

Deborah E. Tubbs

Deborah E. Tubbs, 52 of Zanesville, died Sunday March 30, 2003 at 12:25 p.m.at her home. She was born November 26, 1950 at Zanesville, a daughter of James Hendershot of Zanesville and the late Verna Steadman Hendershot. She was a graduate of West Muskingum High School Class of 1968, was employed as a small machine operator for Longaberger Co., had coached girls softball for many years, Enjoyed spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible, was an avid Dale Jarrett Fan, Co-Owner of The " Heartbeat" Pulling Team, loved to watch the Atlanta Braves and she always helped out others in their time of need.

Surviving are her loving husband, Robert Tubbs, whom she married October 28, 1966 of the home, son, Robert S. Tubbs II of Zanesville, daughter, Lori ( Mark ) McClellan of Zanesville, six grandchildren, Sierra & Briar McClellan, Jakala & Robert Samuel Tubbs III, Anthony McBride, & Samatha Tubbs all of Zanesville. Two brothers, Jim ( Patty) Hendershot of Roseville and Jerry ( Brenda ) Hendershot of Dresden, three sisters, Carolyn ( John ) Lent, Frances ( William ) Lent, and Candy ( Dick ) Schmidt all of Zanesville, two faithful loving companions, Wolfie & Wai and many loving in-laws of her extended family.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home,1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 with Rev. Roy Keyser officiating.Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Elizabeth Crossland

Elizabeth B. " Betty " Crossland, age 98, of Cleveland Ohio, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at the Eliza Jennings Facility in Cleveland Ohio. She was born in Zanesville, Ohio April 13, 1904, the daughter of the late William M. and Mary Heenan Bateman. Mrs. Crossland was a graduate of Zanesville Lash High School and Denison University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma fraternity and Mortar Board.

On September 1, 1927, she was married to Judge Clarence  Jefferson Crossland who died March 8, 1992. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, serving as Past President of the Women's Association, and served on the Girl Scout Council. During World War II she was head of the Women's Civilian Defense Corps in Zanesville and Muskingum County. She was a active member of the All Around Club for 50 years and served on the boards of Helen Purcell Home, Muskingum County Pioneer and Historical Society, Zanesville Art Center, Bethesda Hospital for sixty years, and a charter member of the Junior Bethesda League in 1928.

Surviving are three daughters & sons in-law, Betsy (Douglas A.) Geiger of Lakewood,N.Y., Mary (Robert L.) Phelps of Virginia Beach,VA., and Martha (Richard W.) Heath of Rocky River,OH, Four grandsons, Douglas A. Geiger Jr. of Hickory NC.,  Jefferson W. Geiger of Aurora, IL., Timothy A. Geiger of Columbia SC., and Robert L. Phelps Jr. of Atlanta GA., four granddaughters, Ann Geiger Harris of Lakewood N.Y., Mary Beth Phelps of Virginia Beach,VA., Diane Heath Beer of Rocky River, OH.,and Karen Heath Shores of Arlington VA., and thirteen great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday March 31, 2003 at the Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ray Morrison officiating. Friends will be received by the family following the service at the church. Burial will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio is entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church or to the Genesis Health Foundation.

Judith A. Moody

Judith M. Moody,RN, 57 of Nashport, who gave the gift of life as an organ donor, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. She was born October 3, 1945 at Norwich, Norfolk, England, a beloved daughter of Daphne M. Cooper Bradshaw and the late Emmett J. " Jack " Bradshaw. She was a methodist by faith, graduate of Bethesda School of Nursing in 1966, and was employed as a Mother/Baby Nurse at Genesis Bethesda Hospital with 36 years of service.

Surviving are her mother, Daphne Cooper Bradshaw of Zanesville, her loving husband, Donald C. Moody whom she married August 27, 1966, two sons who will continue her legacy, Brian C. ( Connie ) Moody of Adamsville and Christopher A. Moody of Newark. Three adoring grandchildren, Steven, Alexandra & Hannah Moody all of Adamsville. Two sisters, Jo ( Terry ) Edgell and Jan Bradshaw both of Zanesville, Three brothers, J.C. ( Kathy ) Bradshaw of Newark, Jeff Bradshaw of Zanesville & Jim ( Laurie ) Bradshaw of Newark. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2003. A caring cremation will follow with inurnment at Zanesville Memorial Park at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Judith M.Moody Nursing Education Scholarship Fund, C/O Genesis Healthcare Foundation, 1135 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.

Inez Drushal

Inez Drushal, 92 of Zanesville, died at 2:05 a.m.Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at Muskingum County Home. She was born April 26, 1910 at Winnsboro, LA. a daughter of the late Robert & Katie DeMour Ferguson. She attended Westwood Baptist Church. She did Missonary work in a Children's Home in Reynosa, Mexico. On Christmas Day Inez would go to Mexico and feed the homeless Chili & sandwiches. She crocheted hundreds of slippers, and gave them all away. Inez will be remembered as the Hugging Grandma.

Surviving are two sons, Robert E. (Irene) Drushal of Hebron and Donald R. (Shirley) Drushal of Hopewell; Three daughters, Joan ( Orval) Shaffer & Judy (Tom) Revennaugh both of Chandlersville, & Betty ( Bill) Wedincamp of Midway, Georgia, daughter-in-law, Donna Drushal of Zanesville; 18 grandchildren & 35 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death besides her parents, her husband, Franklin H. Drushel, who died in 1984 and whom she was married to for 57 years; son, Wilbur Drushal, three brothers and one sister.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, march 15, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home with Rev. Mark E. Ballmer officiating. Burial will follow at Chandlersville Cemetery.

Frances Hazen-Kreager
She crossed over March 7, 2003, to reunite with her mother and father, Anna and Orville Hazen; grandmother, Mary Nay; sisters, Mary Catherine Glass and Thresa Brumage; nephews, Christopher Orr and Joel Brumage; and many old friends as the Good Lord tells us of everlasting life.

She will continue to be a big part of our lives, always; devoted husband Bernard; faithul companion Rock; loving son, Garth; dearest sister, Orvilla Orr; sister-in-law, Rosemary Sawyer; several brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and more, as well as many wonderful and close friends.

She made lifelong friends through Walker School, Roosevelt Junior High, Lash High School, Ohio Bell, Armco, camping club, Western Dance Club, local card clubs, Pioneers, Amity, Grotto, Shrine, Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church (most cherished MYF with Pat and Dick), and churches Meadow Farm with the Rev. Jack Zinsmeister and Central Trinity with the Rev. Chuck Titko (her spiritual breath of fresh air), as well as many great neighbors throughout the years.

We thank each and every one of you for your presence during her illness. Words cannot express our gratitude for the cards, flowers, phone calls, prayers, visits, preparing and delivering her favorite meals, and speaking of words of encouragement to give us hope. The out-pouring of your love and support gave us the courage to face those final precious days together as a family.

We may need to continue to borrow some of your "light" in the days ahead. We give thanks for each of you that have touched our lives in so many ways.

The Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., will host your last visits with Frances, together with her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Charles Titko will conduct farewell services at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bolin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery on military Road.

In lieu of flowers and donations, our family asks that you make contact with the people you really care about in life very soon, and let them know how much you love and appreciate them while you still have plenty of time to do so. May God bless and keep you.

Teresa C. Offinger
Teresa C. Offinger, 66 of Frazeysburg, died at 10:24 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. She was born July 14, 1936 at Zanesville a daughter of the late J. E.(Doc) & Sybil Thornton Cramer. She worked the assembly line for Mosiac Tile then became an assembler for United Technologies. She was a member of Fair Oaks Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Offinger Sr. of the home whom she married November 26, 1955, one daughter and son-in-law, Krystal & Scott Sterling of Frazeysburg, four sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles E. & Patty Offinger Jr. of Zanesville, Scott A. & Kristine Offinger of Dresden, Mark L. Offinger of Zanesville, and Tom J. Offinger of Sidney, Ohio, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Three brothers, Roger Cramer of Norwich, Edward Cramer & Bruce Cramer both of Zanesville,and one aunt Mildred Mercer of Zanesville.

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2003 with Rev. Carl Finley officiaitng. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Peter Garich

Peter William ( Bill) Garich passed away at Doctor's Hospital in Sarasota, Florida March 6, 2003. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio January 23, 1917 to the late Peter Henry and Katarina Greiner Garich. He was a 1934 Lash High School graduate, served in the United States Navy, and worked locally at Zanesville Provision Company and David Davies.

In 1961 He joined Bob Evans Farms as Manager of the Production Plant in Xenia, Ohio. In 1965 He became Vice President of the Sausage Division and in 1982 he became Senior Vice President of Sausage Production and Purchasing. He retired on January 31, 1987 and served as a consultant for Bob Evans until 1993.

He was president of Ohio Meat Packers in 1984 and was presented with a special award by the American Meat institute in 1985 for more than 50 years service to the meat industry.

He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Zanesville and Trinity United Church of Christ, Fairborn and was a 32 Degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Sims Garich, who he married July 26, 1935, a daughter and son-in-law, Willa Ruth and Charley Deveny of Zanesville, a son, Peter Garich of Venice, Florida, four grandchildren, Traci Deveny of Zanesville, Mischka Mell of Duncan Falls, Peter ( Christy) Garich of Beavercreek, and Daniel Garich of Kettering, great grandchildren, Douglas Mell and Charles Mell of Duncan Falls, Jordan Garich and Jared Garich of Beavercreek.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Garich and a grandson, Price James Garich.

Friends may call from 11-1 p,m, Monday, March 10, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Lingsch officiating.VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will conduct military services at the grave.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your local hospice.
