Robert G. Guffey 12/31/2005

Robert G. Guffey, age 76, of Marion Edison Road, Caledonia died Saturday morning Dec. 31, 2005 in the Marion Manor Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Nora,KY. to the late Lewis T. and Bertha E. (Lowe) Guffey.

Robert was a lifelong farmer and had also worked at the Green Camp Elevator for over 17 and 1/2 years.

On May 16, 1954 in the Salem United Methodist Church Robert married the former Dora R. Miller and she survives. Additional survivors include a son James Guffey of Hamilton, OH. ; a daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Ken Wakely, Jr. of Caledonia ; seven grandchildren ; three step-grandchildren ; four step-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Hattie Mae Kuckuck, Edon, OH., Beverly and Wilburn Cash, Bellevue, KY., Cora and John Garland, Cincinnati, Martha Coy, Louisville, KY., and Lucy and Tommie Perdue, Albany, KY. ; and four brothers, Hershel and Ruby Guffey, Indianapolis, IN., Junior and Jewell Guffey, Windy, KY., Donald and Ann Guffey and Joe and Barbara Guffey all of Albany, KY.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother John and four sisters Helen, Gladis, Ora, and Fannie.

Friends may call Tuesday Jan. 3, 2006 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM. Pastor John  Jackson will officiate and the burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.

Cindy Wingate

MARION -- Cindy Wingate, age 45, of 428 N. State St., Marion, passed away early Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2003, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home.

Linda A. Caplin

WESTERVILLE -- Linda A. Caplin, age 54, of Westerville, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Ohio State University Hospital. She was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Dan; son, Christopher of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Carrie (Jonathan) Krajewski of Hilliard; parents, Leonard and Seraphine Wooley; sisters, Mary Belk of Marion, Micki Craven of Atlanta, Ga., Teresa Gilmore of Cincinnati; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Thursday 7-9 p.m., and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Prayer service Friday at 9 p.m.

Pearl Fosnaugh Johnson

MARION -- Pearl Fosnaugh Johnson, 95, formerly of 4101 Road 212, Marion, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2003, at the DeWolfe House in Marion.

Born March 30, 1908, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary N. Haberman Fosnaugh.

On Feb. 13, 1926, in Marion, she married George W. Johnson; he died Jan. 17, 1986, in Marion.

A homemaker, she was a member of Lee Street Presbyterian Church for many years and was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and served on the Ladies Aide Association of the church.

She is survived by five sons, George (Gladys) Johnson, Robert (Frieda F.) Johnson, Milton (Linda) Johnson, Ivan (Trina)  Johnson and James Johnson, all of Marion; four daughters, Donna (Charles) Valentine, Caledonia, Ruth (Paul) Thacker, Leatha (Wesley) Mahaffey and Laura (Larry) Underwood, all of Marion; 35 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel L. Johnson, a daughter, Mary McKee, four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Boyd Funeral Home with Pastor Charlene Baughman officiating. Burial is in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lee Street Presbyterian Church.

Herbert H. Hughes

WESTERVILLE -- Herbert H. Hughes, 55, of Westerville, died Saturday evening, June 14, 2003, in Knox Community Hospital following an automobile accident.

The Rev. James Meacham will hold memorial services Thursday at 11 a.m. in Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Herbert Hughes Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Nancy Carol Healea

MARION -- Nancy Carol Healea, age 58, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 15, 2003, at home.

Nancy was born in Galion on Feb. 19, 1945, the daughter of the late William V. and Sylvia M.  Johnson Lynch.

On Feb. 14, 1960, she married Jimmy C. Healea. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1990.

Nancy was a graduate of River Valley High School. She was employed for many years at North Electric in Galion and then as a field service engineer for Rockwell International. She had been working as an installation and training supervisor for various telecommunications companies for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Communications Workers of America. Nancy lived in Martel for most of her life until relocating to Marion after losing her home in a fire. Above all else she was a loving mother and grandmother whose family took first place in her heart.

Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Angela Healea of Marion and her son, Douglas of Marion; two daughters and their husbands, Jackie and Robin Vaughn of Caledonia and Lori and Duane Rhodes of Marion. Her grandchildren are Seth, Nick and Braden Vaughn, Destin and Tyler Walters, R.J. and Derek Persinger, Zack LaDoucer, Kenneth Lowry, Adam, Trisha and Anna Rhodes. Her great-grandchildren are Healea and Sayer Walters. She is also survived by her aunt, Mrs. Ivamae Smith of Rockledge, Fla. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services for Nancy will be held Friday June 20, 2003, in the Church of Christ at Caledonia with Kenneth Boswell officiating. Burial will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen Melroy Funeral Home on Thursday where the family will receive them from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Marion County Humane Society in Care of the funeral home.

June Dutton

MARION -- June Dutton, 62, 280 Bellevue Ave., Marion, Ohio, died at 7:50 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Born May 15, 1941, in Ransom, Ky., to the late Ervil and Grethel (Hatfield) Taylor.

On Sept. 6, 1963, in Marion, Ohio, she married Jimmy R. Dutton; he survives in Marion, Ohio.

Her church affiliation was non-denominational. June was involved in a program with her husband called "Hymn Time" at TV39, Marion, Ohio. She worked part-time seasonal at the Hallmark store in the Southland Mall. June spent her life working for the Lord and she was a loving, caring wife, mother and friend. She was a homemaker and a Marion resident most of her life.

Surviving are two sons, James William Dutton, Marion, Ohio, and Michael (Barbara) Dutton, Marion, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Lewell (Lora) Molen, Maryville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Josh and Molly Molen, Jesse Dutton, and Cory and Lexy Kearns; one brother, Tilden (Phyllis) Taylor, New Holland, Pa.; and one sister, Shirley Taylor, Marion, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. tonight, June 22, 2003, at TV39 on North Main Street, Marion, with the Rev. Freddy Dutton, of the Fischer Road Freewill Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio, officiating. Graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. today, June 22, 2003, at TV39 on North Main Street, Marion, Ohio.
