Wesley, Ark., resident Ernest Gordon Bowen died Thursday at the age of 76.

Service was held Tuesday, March 13, at Shaffer Funeral Home with Elder James Isaacs officiating. Burial was at Morgan Hill Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home, Ozark, Ark.

Gary A. Gouker
Former Prague resident Gary A. Gouker, 60, died Monday, March 12.

Memorial service will be today 11 a.m. at Campbell Memorial Chapel, 231 E. Campbell Ave., Campbell, Calif.

Arrangements under the directionof Darling & Fischer Chapel of the Hills, Los Gatos, Calif.

Jaxson Ray Mitchell Lamascus
Jaxson Ray Mitchell Lamascus, infant son of Katherine Mitchell and James Lamascus, died Monday, March 12, in Shawnee.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with Chaplain Larry Sparks officiating.

Arrangements under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Bobbie V.L. Gangemi
Bobbie V.L. Gangemi, 87, died Tuesday, March 15, at the home of her daughter, Toni Jensen, in Harrah.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Harrah Church of the Nazarene, 20775 North Street, with the Rev. Hubert Gilbert officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Sooner Quality Hospice Inc., 921 Sooner Road, Del City, OK 73110.

Bertha Scroggin Collins
Shawnee resident Bertha Scroggin Collins, 97, died Thursday, March 15, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 28, 1910, in Hugo, Okla., to A.A. Gus Norwood and Maud Lillian (Collins) Norwood.

Bertha graduated from Hugo High School, attended Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas, and earned her bachelor and masters degrees from East Central University in Ada.

In December 1937 she married Joel Scroggin. Mr. Scroggin died in 1950. In 1956 she married W.C. "Kirk" Collins.

Bertha taught elementary school in Pottawatomie and Seminole counties and spent the last 10 years of her career teaching 1st grade in the Konawa School Systems.

She was a pioneer member of Progressive Study Club, Konawa Chapter of Eastern Star, a volunteer worker at Valley View Hospital in Ada, and a member of Konawa Methodist Church and later United Methodist Church in Shawnee.

Proceding her in death were her parents and both husbands.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Wendell and Mary Scroggin of Richmond, Texas; one step-daughter, Patsy Collins Myers; three grandchildren and their spouses, Beth Ann and Pat Tracy of Richmond, Texas, Sharon and Donnie Ward of Sidney, Texas, and Lisa and Jim McCain of Sugarland, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Konawa Cemetery with Dr. Rockford Johnson officiating.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3337, Shawnee, OK 74802.

Delorse Aleah Tornburg
Longtime Seminole resident Delorse Aleah Thornburg died Thursday, March 15, at Seminole Estates Nursing Home at the age of 78.

Service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Temple of Praise Church, Seminole, with the Rev. Harold Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

O.L. McLain
Wellston resident O.L. "Lefty" McLain died Friday, March 16, at the age of 81.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Chandler.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Ida Jean Able
Davenport resident Ida Jean able, 79, died Thursday, March 15.

Service will be 10 p.m. Monday at Davenport First Christian Church.

Arrangements under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Bonnie Pearl Fidler
Bonnie Pearl (Walton) Fidler, 76 year old longtime Konawa resident passed from this life Friday, March 16, 2007. She was born April 10, 1930 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to parents Chieftin Walton and Agnes Bell (Eaton) Walton.

Bonnie married Jarrett E. Fidler on January 19, 1965 in Ada, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Konawa First Assembly of God Church and was also a homemaker.

Bonnie is preceded in death by both parents, her father, Chieftin Walton, her mother, Agnes Bell (Eaton) Walton-Chambers. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jarrett E. Fidler, who died Nov. 16, 2006.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Everett J. and Donna Travels of Romance, Arkansas, Rocky S. and Carlotta Travels of Sasakwa, Tracy G. and Michelle Fidler of Asher, Okla., Tony E. and Debie Fidler of Ponca City, Okla., Terry E. and Carla Fidler Lexington, Okla.; three daughters, Bonnie Paullett "Pat" Travels of North Dakota, Ruth Ellen Andrews of Oklahoma City, and Twyla Diana Cobbs of Yukon, Okla.; one sister, Joyce Marie Jordan of Noble, Okla.; and 19 grandchildren.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Konawa. Burial will follow at Konawa City Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Lawrence officiating.

Casket Beares will be Veldon Spicer, Eugene Spicer, Allen Prescott, Larry Schellenberger, Darrell Mackey and Preston Throckmorton.

Billy Ray Gibson
Bethel resident Billy Ray Gibson died Friday, March 16, in a local hospital at the age of 78.

He was born Dec. 25, 1928 in Sapulpa to Ed and Winnie (Byers) Gibson.

On June 3, 1948, he married Betty Lou Ray.

He was a tree trimmer and forman of McCoy Tree Surgery for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, three brothers, one sister and an infant granddaughter.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Norm a & Tracy Green of McLoud, Janice and Joe Cox of Norman and Peggy Davis of the home; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Darrell Witten officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Bethel, Okla.

Frederic A. Wuensch
Shawnee resident Frederic A. Wuensch, 59, died 8:15 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Baptist Burn Center, Oklahoma City.

Military service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Sill Cemetery, Lawton, Okla., provided by the V.F.W.

Yvonne Georgine Taylor
Longtime Saint Louis resident Yvonne Georgine Taylor, 59, of Maud died Tuesday, March 15, at a Seminole hospital.

Service will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Maud with the Rev. Tim Martin, the Rev. Paul Jackson and the Rev. Jimmy Rutters officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.

Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud is directing arrangements.

Horace Thomas Childers
Former Maud resident Horace Thomas "H.T." Childers, 79, died Wednesday, March 16, at a Wagner care center.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Cummings Cemetery with Glen Williams officiating. Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud is directing arrangements.

Mary Eudora Cantwell Bridgman
Former Ponca City resident Mary Eudora Cantwell Bridgman passed away Friday afternoon, March 16, in San Angelo, Texas. She was 84.
Mary was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Rush Springs, Okla., the daughter of the Rev. Luther Albert Cantwell and Ethel Euelah (Autrey) Cantwell. The family moved to Ponca City in 1937. She was a graduate of Ponca City High School prior to attending Bethany Nazarene College.

On Dec. 25, 1940, she married Ivan Joe Bridgman in Ponca City. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. The couple had moved to San Angelo in 2002.

Mary had been employed several years ago as a receptionist at Grace Memorial Chapel. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of San Angelo, Texas. Her enjoyments included cooking, sewing and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Jo Cobb; one brother, Ray Cantwell and one infant sister, Madelyn Joy.

Survivors include her husband, Ivan, of the home; two children, Rod Bridgman of San Angelo, Texas and Jean Bray and husband, Paul, of Shawnee; three sisters, Sybil Small and husband, Warren, of Indianapolis, Ind., Bobbie Steele and husband, Robert, of Fort Meyers, Fla., and June Holiday and husband, Jerry, of Oklahoma City; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Cantwell of Ponca City; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; one uncle, Freddie Autrey and wife, Mozell.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Grace Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Mixon, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Shawnee, officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Ponca City under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers will be grandsons, Kyle Puga, Alex Puga, Johnathan Heston, Thomas Heston, John Heston, Jeremiah Flowers, Zachary Truitt and Casey Bray. Honorary casket bearers will be Benjamin Cobb, William Cobb, Caleb Cobb, Johnathan Truitt, Stephen Heston and David Heston.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Bridgman's memory to Hospice.
