WISTER — Willard B. Parks, 89, of Wister died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Wister. He was born May 21, 1915, in Denver. He was a drag line operator and a member of the Assembly of God.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by two daughters, Katherine Gabardi of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Trudy Cody of Wister; two sons, Thomas Parks of Calhan, Colo., and Garen Parks of Florence, Colo.; a sister, Shirley Stien of Denver; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Merle Henson
POTEAU — Merle Ellizabeth Rainwater Hill Henson, 93, of Poteau died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, in Poteau. She was born April 12, 1911, in Paris. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Poteau, where she was organist and pianist for 54 years.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two sons, Bob Hill of Oklahoma City and Tom Hill of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Ruth Title of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Carter, Harrell Bright, Bill Barber, Rick Couri, Bob Linstrom and Jody Cooper.

Bryson Rotramel
VIAN — Bryson Xavier Rotramel, infant son of Josh Rotramel and Tara Sanders, both of Vian, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, in Tulsa.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blunt Baptist Church with burial at Dwight Mission Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Joshua and Christopher Rotramel, both of the home; grandparents, Teresa Taylor of Vian and Charles Sanders of Sallisaw.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Mascel Pollard
Mascel Pollard, 81, of Watson, Okla., died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in her home. She was born July 25, 1923, in Watson. She was a cook at Watson Elementary School, a member of Free Holiness Church in Watson and the widow of Lee Pollard.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene with burial at Watson Cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by a sister, Margie Atchley of Poteau; and a brother, Jerry Johnson of Broken Bow, Okla.

Auda Taylor
SALLISAW — Auda Taylor, 97, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Sallisaw. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the widow of Clifton Taylor.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Harper of Muskogee, Okla., and Euphemia Thoe of Humble, Texas; three sons, John Taylor of Broken Arrow, Okla., Richard Taylor of Sallisaw and Cliff Taylor of the home; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Byron, Clifford, Jason and Steven Taylor, Larry Harper and Jim Choate.
The body may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Auda Taylor
Auda Taylor, 98, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Sallisaw. She belonged to the First Christian Church. She loved to garden, raise flowers, canning and all children. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton “Red” Taylor; one daughter, Wynona Yakubosky; one son, Quanah Ray Taylor; two sisters, Mary Lou Eubanks and Clelius Gott; six brothers, Emmett, Ray, Woodrow, Ernest and Ollie Mattox and C.J. Gott.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan F. Harper and husband Joe of Muskogee, Okla., and Euphemia Thoe and husband Clifford of Humble, Texas; three sons, John “Famous” Taylor of Broken Arrow, Okla., Richard Taylor of Sallisaw, and Cliff Taylor of the home; 15 grandchildren, one of which she raised from birth as a daughter, Linda Maxwell; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bryon, Clifford and Jason Taylor, Barry Miller, Jim Choate and Terrance “Terry” Thoe.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where family will visit with friends from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today.

Vernon Stricklin
STIGLER — Vernon Stricklin, 69, of Stigler died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Stigler. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and a rancher.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Centerpoint Cemetery in Wilburton, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three daughters, Venga Cox of Oklahoma City, Melody Stricklin of the home, and Joy Anderson of Konawa, Okla.; a son, Ves Stricklin of Asher, Okla.; a sister, Edna Smith of Kent County, Texas; a brother, Wayne Stricklin of Yuma, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jon Peters
SALLISAW — Jon Eric Peters, 36, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Sallisaw. He was born Aug. 18, 1968, in Fort Smith. He was a 1986 graduate of Poteau High School, attended Carl Albert State College, was a former factory worker at Arkansas Protein and Smerf Container, and a member of First Christian Church in Poteau.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; two daughters, Renee and Samantha Peters, both of the home; a son, Simon Peters of the home; his parents, the Rev. Bill and Florence Peters of Sallisaw; a sister, LaJeanna Thompson of Panama; and a brother, Jack Peters of Muldrow.
Pallbearers will be Chad Morgan, Robert Wilson, Dewayne Landrum, Quinn and Kendall Thompson, Nathan Zigler, Jerry Montgomery and Chris Skinner.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

James McBride
STIGLER — James Howett “J.H.” McBride, 92, of Stigler died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at King & Shearwood Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Sans Bois Cemetery in Kinta, Okla.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Skaer of Eureka, Mo.; a son John McBride of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Anna Cundill of St. Louis; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kinta First Christian Church.

Leland Toney
SALLISAW — Leland Lloyd Toney, 67, of Sallisaw died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a private pilot.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Brent Cemetery in Gans.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn; a daughter, Amber Mulnik of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, John Toney of Savannah, Ga.; six sisters, Lorene Peters of Roland, Ollice Risenhoover and Velma Rider, both of Sallisaw, Mildred Ward of Choteau, Okla., Nora Ferguson of Collinsville, Okla., and Zelma Glass of Muskogee, Okla.; two brothers, Boyd Toney of Sallisaw and John Toney of Tulsa; and a grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Olen Goldsborough
SPIRO — Olen H. “Sode” Goldsborough, 81, of Spiro died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Poteau. He was born March 11, 1923, in Walls, Okla. He was a cattle buyer and a member of Cattle Buyers Association.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Dog Creek Cemetery in Dog Creek, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Danny Goldsborough of Spiro and Terry Goldsborough of Poteau; a brother, Deward Goldsborough of Tulsa; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Rosso, Allen Hales, Gene Ward, Donnie Shadwick, Tom Tally and Sam Godwin.

Lucille Davis
VIAN — Lucille Marie Davis, 84, of Vian died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Vian Baptist Church with burial at Garden of Memories in Vian under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; a daughter, Anna Sissom of Kellyville, Okla.; a son, Tom Davis of Sallisaw; two brothers, Oscar Nation of Lawrence, Kan., and Raymond Nation of Nashville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Zac Nipper, Todd Davis, Scott and Donley Sissom, Larry James and John Galatian.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Bernice White
SALLISAW — Bernice Luda White, 73, of Sallisaw died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, in Sallisaw. She was born June 1, 1931, in Dora. She was a private nurses aide, a Baptist, and the widow of Roy White.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial of cremains at Seabolt Cemetery north of Muldrow at a later date.
She is survived by two sons, Lee White of Muldrow and Robert White of Garden Grove, Calif.; a sister, Shirley Williams of Muldrow; a brother, Sam Harp of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lana Maynard
Lana Maynard, 41, of Altus died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in Ozark. She was born Feb. 19, 1963, in Rogers to J.C. Maynard and Peggy (Kendrick). She was a homemaker and attended Church of the Nazarene in Altus.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at Liberty Cemetery in Altus with the Rev. James Kendrick officiating, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
She is survived by a daughter, Ashley Milholland of Hartman; a son, Chris English of Altus; four sisters, her twin sister Lisa Davison of Fayetteville, Ruby Dixon of Ozark, Shirley Smith of Ozark, and Becky Boswell of Altus; a brother, James Kendrick of Ozark; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Milholland and Makayla Milholland.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Gail Pennington Spain
Gail Pennington Spain, 60, of Tulsa died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Tulsa. She was an employee of Sears in Tulsa, an Avon representative in Fort Smith and Tulsa, and a member of Abbott Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Pennington, and a sister, Mildred Harp.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Grove No. 2 Church with burial at Pleasant Grove No. 2 Cemetery near Abbott under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield.
She is survived by her husband, Calven; three sons, Rick, Craig and Scott, all of Tulsa; two brothers, Elton Pennington of Abbott and Blake Pennington of Bella Vista; one grandchild, Zack Spain of Dallas; one niece; and five nephews.
Pallbearers will be Scott and Craig Spain, Dwain Harris, Donald Williams, Carroll Turner and Don Spradling.
