Calvin Curtis Allen

Calvin Curtis Allen of Shawnee died Thursday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 64.

He was born June 26, 1935, in Bessie, Okla., to Buel Ethan Allen and Edna Jane (Watson) Allen.

He married Joyce Marlene Pack June 30, 1956, in Elk City.

Allen graduated from Elk City High School and received his bachelor of arts in education from Southwestern State in Weatherford. He did post-graduate work at the University of Oklahoma and received his master of arts in education from East Central State College in Ada.

He was a retired teacher and pastor. He taught speech, debate and drama in Lindsay and taught English in Shawnee.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marlene Pack Allen, Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Curtis and Suellen Marie Allen, Henryetta; daughter, Linda Gail Seright, Cushing; grandsons, Jared Dale Allen, Dylan Ross Allen, Heath Anthony Allen and Luke Timothy Allen, all of Henryetta; brothers, Richard Allen, Leonard Allen, Kenneth Allen and Billy Allen; sisters, Grace Igo, Bobbie Meier and Imogene Rogers; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Junior Allen, Everett Allen and Keith Allen; and one sister, Margie Garner.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Liberty Baptist Church with Bill Matthew and Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hatchet Cemetery in Bessie, Okla., under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Genevieve Annette Arnold

Stroud resident Genevieve Annette Arnold died Thursday in Edmond. She was 82.

Mrs. Arnold was born June 3, 1917, in Warren, Pa., to Orion S. and Edna Mae Bryan Mangel.

She married Paul G. Arnold Jr. on June 20, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1976.

She was a homemaker, and a Stroud resident since 1968.

Mrs. Arnold was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stroud.

She was preceded in death by her infant twin sons, Pat and Mike Arnold; her parents; stepfather, Merle Mangel; and a brother, Clint Bryan.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert D. and Barbara Arnold, Albany, Ga.; daughter, Edna A. Arnold, Stroud; grandson and his wife, Scott and Mary Arnold, Fort Smith, Ark.; granddaughter and her husband, Dayna and Gene Nicholas, Bossier City, La.; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at First United Methodist Church in Stroud, with the Rev. Kathy Leithner officiating.

Burial will be in Stroud Cemetery, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Stroud.

William Billig

William Billig, Henryetta, died Wednesday at his home. He was 79.

Billig was born Dec. 31, 1920, in New Jersey, the son of Samuel and Rose VonVeron Billig.

He married Lucille Black in 1948. She preceded him in death in 1983.

Billig served with the U.S. Army from 1944-1951.

He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 539 in Henryetta, and a member of the American Legion in Henryetta.

Billig was a 32nd-degree Mason. He was a Shriner with the Scottish Rite of McAlester.

He was the owner of Black's Jewelry before his retirement in 1971.

Billig was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Rose Billig; and three brothers, Sam, Jake and Woody.

Survivors include his companion, Fran Green, of the home; four sons and three daughters-in-law, John and Patty Green, Shawnee; Allen and Kathy Green, Shawnee; Tracy and Norma Green, McLoud; Gordan Green, Shawnee; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jack Mahon, Elk Grove, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Saturday at Shurden Funeral Home Chapel in Henryetta with Minister Gerald Kahldren officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.

Margaret W. Wissinger

Margaret W. "Dollie" Wissinger died Wednesday at her home in Shawnee.

She was born in Meridian, Miss., to Edwin E. and Alleen Margaret (Hudson) West. She moved to Shawnee in 1944.

On July 24, 1960, she married R.J. "Dick" Wissinger in Shawnee.

The Baylor University graduate was a medical illustrator.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Junior Service League, Rose Unit Garden Club and the Zoology Society of Oklahoma. She also was a charter member and past president of the Mabee-Gerrer Museum Volunteer Society.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Baxter Jr. and George Baxter; three granddaughters, Demita Winegardner, Jennifer Fournie and Jill Collins; grandson, Jeffrey Baxter; four great-grandsons, Sean Winegardner, Cole Fournie, Cade Fournie, Blake Baxter; and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Winegardner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother, Ed West.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the Rev. Arthur Scrutchins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 711 Stanton L. Young , Suite 601, Oklahoma City, OK 73104-5023.

Rex Farmer

Stroud resident Rex Farmer died Wednesday in his home at the age of 85.

He was born Feb. 19, 1916, in Peel, Ark., the son of Josh Bunion and Elda (Coplin) Farmer. A graduate of Davenport High School, he was a farmer and propane distributor and trader.

He married his wife, Joan, in 1981 in Lincoln County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stroud. He moved to Davenport at the age of 12 and lived in Lincoln County since that time.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal, one infant son, an infant daughter, and his parents.

Survivors include wife, Joan of the home; children, Troy Farmer, Welch; Joy Marler, Shawnee; Coy Farmer and Pat Cook, both of Prague; stepchildren, Kenneth Fletcher, Elizabeth Holly, Martha Jones, Deborah Shouinard, Mary Baker, grandson, Gary Marler; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Stroud with the Rev. Kenneth Fletcher and the Rev. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Davenport Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Lillie Pearl Pickett

Prague resident Lillie Pearl Pickett died Thursday in Prague at the age of 87.

She was born Dec. 21, 1913, in Prague, the daughter of Frank and Emelie (Kimmel) Tomanka.

Mrs. Pickett, a homemaker, married Robert Pickney Pickett Dec. 25, 1935, in Prague and lived in Seminole from 1985 to 1997. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Seminole.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, four brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Bob and Sharon Pickett, Prague; Vernon and Gloria Pickett, Seminole; Larry and Betty Pickett and Ron and Linda Pickett, all of Choctaw; sister, Esther Stout, Bethany; sister-in-law, Kathaleen Tomanka, Bethany, five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Linda Jenelle Bussey

Linda Jenelle Bussey, 57, Diaz, Ark., died Wednesday in Little Rock, Ark.

She was born June 2, 1943, in Guthrie to Emmet and Margaret Houck. She married Charles Gene Bussey Oct. 10, 1969, in Littleton, Colo.

She was a licensed practical nurse and a Baptist.

Preceding her in death were her parents and grandparents.

Surviving are her husband of the home; a son Terry S. Bussey of Diaz, Ark.; a brother Lester Houck of New Castle, Colo.; a sister Mary O Berg of Oklahoma City and a grandchild Terry Gene Willis.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Maud with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery, Maud.

Arrangements are under the direction of Knight Funeral Home, Maud.

Terry Donald Arnhart

Terry Donald Arnhart of Oklahoma City died Wednesday at his home. He was 56.

Arnhart was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Yale to Harry R. and Martha Mae (Phillips) Arnhart. He graduated from Seminole High School in 1962 and attended East Central University.

He was a bookkeeper at National Car Rental since 1985 and had worked at Citizens National Bank in Oklahoma City from 1963 to 1985. He was assistant vice president.

The Vietnam veteran was involved with Little League baseball and Shawnee High School tennis and football.

Survivors include his father, Harry Arnhart; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Charlotte Arnhart, Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sept. 8, 1996, and a sister, Raymonda Arnhart.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery.

Dorothy Lee Davisson

Seminole resident Dorothy "Dottie" Davisson died Wednesday at the age of 94.

She was born Jan. 22, 1907, in Frasier, Mo., to Ira and Dulciebell Gray. She married D.B. Davisson Feb. 14, 1925, in Lawton. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1979.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and belonging to several church groups. She ran her own business, "Dottie's Ceramics" from the early 1950s through the middle 1970s.

Survivors include her two daughters, Peggy Sisson, Dallas, Texas and Donna Smith of Seminole; a son, Bill Davisson, Seminole; a sister, Pauline Robison, Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 9 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Karges officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Lawton.

James Alfred Davis

James Alfred Davis of Owasso died April 17. He was 63.

Davis was born Aug. 26, 1937, at Ninnekah.

A veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, he worked as a security officer with McDonnell Douglas and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia, Owasso; two sons Ronnie Davis and Mike Davis of Tulsa; a daughter Paula Davis-Schmidt of Sperry; four grandchildren, Chris M. Davis and Jeff C. Davis, both of Shawnee; Ryan E. Davis of Tulsa and Brianna M. Schmidt of Sperry.

Services were held April 20 at Mowery Funeral Chapel in Owasso.
