Ada Rush Riddle

Ada Rush Riddle, Shawnee, died Friday in a local nursing home. She was 94.

Mrs. Riddle was born Jan. 24, 1906, in DeQueen, Ark., to George and Sarah Smith Rush.

She married William Ray Riddle in 1924. He preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray and Mary Riddle, Tulsa; and a grandson, Joseph Ray Riddle.

Graveside services will 1 p.m. Monday in Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

James Garland Campbell

James Garland Campbell, 88, Maud, died Thursday in Maud.

He was born May 11, 1911, in Sacred Heart to Katie and Ira Campbell.

He married Dorothy Crooks in July 1969 in Maud. She preceded him in death.

He lived all his life in the Konawa area and was a farmer.

Campbell was a veteran of World War II who served from Jan. 6, 1942, to Sept. 24, 1945. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon and EAME Service Ribbon with one Silver Star, one Bronze Service Star and one Bronze Arrowhead.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Pearl Campbell, Konawa, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Konawa Cemetery with Richard Winters officiating under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home, Konawa.

Julia Kinney Lewis

Julia "Judy" Kinney Lewis died Wednesday in Amarillo, Texas. She was 53.

She was born July 8, 1946, in Talihina to Wilson and Jennie (Chupco) Kinney.

She attended school at Carter Seminary, New Lima, and graduated from Wewoka in 1965. She lived in Dallas, Texas, for several years and spent her last 15 years living in Amarillo, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and C.W. Kinney, and her parents, Wilson Kinney and Jennie Chupco Leitka.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Stephanie Lewis, Dallas, Texas, and Shawnelle and Dana Embry, Dallas, Texas; brothers and sisters, Jerry Baker, Lawrence, Kan., Wilma Kinney, Colorado Springs, Colo., Agnes Webster, Oklahoma City, Augusta Smith, Talequah, George Kinney, Wewoka, Curtis Kinney, Muskogge, Martha Walker, Okemah, and Reuben Kinney, Wewoka; aunt, Lydia Harjo, Shawnee; special friend, Leroy Miller, Amarillo; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka with the Rev. Sammy Chupco officiating. Burial will be at the Kinney Family Cemetery in Wewoka.

Wake services were 6:30 p.m. Friday at Stout Chapel.

Richard Sehon

Richard "Rick" Sehon of Tecumseh died Thursday. He was 38.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home. Other arrangements are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Nina Mae Collum

Nina Mae Collum, 72, Shawnee, died Thursday in Norman.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Loveland officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Jimmie Dean Cox

Longtime McLoud resident Jimmie Dean Cox died Thursday at his home. He was 42.

Cox was born Nov. 27, 1957, in Harrah to Delmar and Maxine Cox. He married Cindy Tibbs on July 14, 1977, in McLoud.

He owned and operated Jim's Tire Store in McLoud and drove a school bus for McLoud Schools for 15 years. He was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Cox, of the home; sister, JoAnn Hegwood, McLoud; brother, Bobby Cox, Moore; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred Cox.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Pentecostal Holiness Church of McLoud with the Rev. Richard Estorga officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Jimmie Cox Memorial Fund at BancFirst of McLoud.

Mary Nadine McNeil

Mary Nadine McNeil, 62, Shawnee, died Friday at her home.

Mrs. McNeil was born April 29, 1937, in Wynnewood to Henry Easley and Amanda (Dyes) Easley. She graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1955.

She had lived in Shawnee for about 15 years and retired after about 10 years from Marquis Furniture, where she was sales manager.

Survivors include her son, Mark McNeil, Yukon; daughter, Dena McNeil, San Antonio, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Regena and Micky Walsh, Edmond; granddaughter, Morgan Walsh; three sisters, Nancy and Leonard Lynch, Shawnee; Flora Thompson, Prattville, Ala.; and Lavada Lynch, Aztec, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Services were held Friday under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Frontier Hospice, 3908 N. Peniel Fifth Floor, Bethany, OK 73008.

Hazel T. Morrow

Hazel T. Morrow died Wednesday at Kingfisher General Hospital in Kingfisher. She was 86.

She was born July 27, 1913, in Okfuskee County to Thomas Benjamin Ras and Florence (Twigg) Rash.

She married Harley Arthur Morrow in Okfuskee County.

Mrs. Morrow was preceded in death by her parents, husband of many years, one daughter, four sisters and one brother.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobbie Joe and Juanita Morrow, Sand Springs, Harley Dean and Lauretta Morrow, Bakersfield, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Hallo Jean and Van Shults, Kingfisher, and Wanda and Lester Rutland, Sand Springs; sister, Lilly Gormley, Okemah; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gravesides services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morse Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Clay officiating under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.

Tom Novak

Tom Novak of Shawnee died Friday. He was 37.

He was born Nov. 18, 1962, in LaMirada, Calif. He was the son of Benedict and Gloria Novak.

Novak attended St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. He worked for Crown Printing in Fullerton, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benedict J. Novak, in 1994.

Survivors include mother, Gloria Novak of LaMirada, Calif.; seven brothers and sisters, John King, Shawnee; Ben Novak III, Costa Mesa, Calif.; Marie Magno, Kent, Wash.; Charlie Novak, Riverside, Calif.; Joseph Novak, Anaheim, Calif.; Linda Yonutas, Shawnee; Patti Ledesma, San Bernardino, Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Wilma J. Gahring

Wilma J. Gahring of Shawnee died Thursday at a local nursing home. She was 78.

She was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Claremore. She was the daughter of George and Kate Boone.

She married Ross R. Gahring May 21, 1942, in Claremore. Mrs. Gahring was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and an Alter Guild Volunteer at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum.

She was raised in Claremore and has lived in Shawnee since 1964.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George and Robert Boon and one daughter, Jean Gahring Davison.

Survivors include husband, Ross R. Gahring of the home; two sons, Stanley Gahring, Cleveland, Ohio; Craig Gahring, Sapulpa; sister, Catherine Boone Roberts, Claremore; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the Rev. Arthur P. Scrutchins officiating, assisted by the Rev. Percy Jenkins. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research-Okla. Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE. 13th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.

Billie Jean Dunn

Billie Jean "Willie" Dunn, 70, Shawnee died Thursday at her home.

She was born May 25, 1930, in Flat Creek, Ala., to Henry Grady and Clora Ethel (Smith) White. She attended school in Alabama.

Mrs. Dunn, co-owner of Dunn Wrecker Service, lived in the Dale area most of her life. She was member of Hazel Dell Baptist Church.

She was on Feb. 14, 1969, in Las Vegas, Nev., to Jesse R. "Jake" Dunn, who preceded her in death July 29, 1996.

Mrs. Dunn also was preceded in death by her daughter, Jackie Sue Cox, and an infant daughter, Tommy Lou Haynes.

Survivors include four daughters, Jo Crocheran, Bailey, Colo.; Toni Elaine Blesseck, Coos Bay, Ore.; Terri Lee Wells and Cindy Lou Brown, both of Shawnee; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four sisters, June Johnson, Kentucky; Glen Calvert, Good Hope, Ala.; Mary Hathcock, Tilus, Fla.; Jimmie Sue Mills, Tennessee; one brother, Bernard White, Alabama; seven stepchildren including Lisa Dunn, McLoud; Guy Allen, Columbia, Md.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Fred and Louise Kupke, Torrance, Calif.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hazel Dell Baptist Church with the Rev. Ellis Risenhoover officiating. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Annie H. Boone

McLoud resident Annie H. Boone, 77, died Thursday in a local hospital.

She was born in Shallow Water, Texas, on Nov. 29, 1923. The daughter of Ray and Annie Lou (Boswell) Hutchings graduated from high school in Olney, Texas. She had lived in west Pottawatomie County since 1985.

On Dec. 25, 1947, she married Joe H. Boone in her Olney, Texas, home.

Mrs. Boone, a homemaker, was a member of Blackburn Chapel Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, G.B. Hutchings.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Wilbert and Debbie Boone of Norman, and William and Ruth Boone of Oklahoma City; daughter, Cathy Reed of Shawnee; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis Perkins of Tahlequah, and Catherine Flowers of San Antonio, Texas, and her brother, Lewis Hutchings of Roswell, N.M.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Blackburn Chapel. The Rev. Scott Batts will officiate. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
