Clara B. Flournoy

Shawnee resident Clara B. Flournoy died Friday at a local nursing home. She was 100.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Turner officiating.

Mrs. Flournoy was born Jan. 17, 1899, at Como, Texas, to Elmer and Ellen Bowen. She married Robert E. Flournoy.

She was a homemaker and a longtime Seminole resident.

Survivors include her daughter, Olyne Hendrix, Fort Smith, Ark.; five grandchildren, Gayla Heckman, Shawnee; Jim Bob Powers, Ada; Rex Powers, Seminole; Donna Newbold, Fort Smith, Ark.; Cindy Atchison, Fort Smith, Ark.; nine great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Flournoy; daughter, Doris Powers; and son-in-law, Jimmy Powers.

Carlton Moore

Konawa resident Carlton (Montana) Moore died Friday in Konawa. He was 4 months old.

Carlton was born Nov. 16, 1998, in Ada to Jalonna Waldron and Ronald Moore.

Survivors include his brother, Joseph "Dakota" Moore, Konawa; three sisters, Dalynn McGee, Konawa; Desirae McGee and Alexia Moore, both of Tecumseh; father, Ronald Moore; mother, Jalonna Waldron, Konawa; grandparents, Mary Waldron, Konawa; Bill Armstrong, Konawa; James and Linda Waldron, Oklahoma City; Alfred Moore, Konawa; Tom and Dena Breedlove, Choctaw; and great-grandparents, Juanita Moore and Betty Myatt.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Carl Myatt.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home with the Rev. Wesley Martin officiating.

Virginia Lee Berry

Lifelong Lincoln County resident Virginia Lee Berry died Friday in Prague. She was 75.

Mrs. Berry was born March 19, 1924, in Stroud to William Terrell Evans and Minnie McClellan (Wilson) Berry. She graduated from Stroud High School and was a retired health care provider.

Survivors include her daughter, Sally Whitfield, Prague; brother-in-law, R.A. Barnes, Houston, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Clark Berry; one brother and one sister.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Davenport Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, with Dr. Ben Husted officiating.

Joe Nosalek

Longtime Prague area resident Joe Nosalek died Saturday in Prague. He was 94.

Nosalek was born Jan. 21, 1905, in Czechoslovakia to Karel Nosalek and Anna (Vasica) Nosalek. He married Alma C. Rodebush on June 12, 1929.

He came to the United States as a child and had lived in the Prague and Paden area most of his life. He was a retired farmer and rancher and worked for many years on the Parks Brothers Hereford Ranch in Prague. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Prague.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Earl and Helen Nosalek, Branson, Mo., and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, on Oct. 29, 1982; his parents, one son and two brothers.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, with the Rev. Jim Powell officiating.

Lorena Mack Wood

Shawnee resident Lorena Mack Wood died Saturday at a local hospital. She was 90.

Church services will be Monday afternoon. Tribal rites will be Monday evening at her home. Burial will be Tuesday morning under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Lavada Oakley

Lavada Oakley, 82, Davis, died Saturday.

She was born March 5, 1917, in Healton to Charlie Grant and Kittie (Nelson) Rushing. She attended Crooked Oak and Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City.

She married Roy Clifton Oakley in Pauls Valley in 1935 and moved to Davis. She was a cook who was employed by Davis Schools, Sooner Barbeque, and others. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Stars, Rebekahs, Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion, and Home Demonstration Club.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie G. and Wanda Jo Oakley, Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Murlene and Russell Lewis, Utah; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, her mother, her husband, in 1967, and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Davis, with the Rev. John Beckmon officiating, assisted by the Rev. Finnis Steelman. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Krien Funeral Home, Davis.

Dillon Ray O'Quin

Dillon Ray O'Quin of Tecumseh died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was 8 months old.

Dillon was born July 17, 2000, in Shawnee to Earl O'Quin Jr. and Kimberly (Barnes) O'Quin.

His father is a former Mobil employee and his mother attended Tecumseh High School and is employed at Wal-Mart.

Survivors include his mother, Kimberly (Barnes) O'Quin, Tecumseh; father, Earl O'Quin, Biloxi, Miss.; grandparents, Peggy Trammell-Sliger, Tecumseh, Frank and Charlotte Barnes, Timpson, Texas, and Earl and Mary O'Quin Sr., Biloxi; great-grandparents, Elsie Mae Trammell, Tecumseh, and Lou Bond, Biloxi; and many other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Alan Cluck officiating. Burial will be in Romulus Cemetery.

Jerry Lanelle Thomas

Jerry Lanelle Thomas died Sunday at her Seminole home. She was 68.

Mrs. Thomas was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Iraan, Texas, to Hugh Alexander and Sadie Lois Polly.

On Dec. 24, 1952, she married Harry O. Thomas in Kermit, Texas.

A homemaker, Thomas was a retired store owner of Harry and Jerry's Stop-N-Go.

She moved to Seminole 17 years ago from Fort Morgan, Colo.

Thomas was a member of Northwood Church of the Nazarene, Grand Cross of Color and Rainbow Girls. She was past worthy matron of Eastern Star, a volunteer Pink Lady at Seminole Hospital and a Sunday school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her father, sister, Paula Jean Polly, and granddaughter, Katelyn Polly Bray.

Survivors include her mother, Sadie Lois Polly, Artesia, N.M.; husband Harry O. Thomas of the home; two sons, Harry O. Thomas Jr., Ardmore, and Curtis L. Thomas, Seminole; two daughters, Susan Lois Reagan, Seattle, Wash., and Wilda Mae Bray, Fort Smith, Ark.; two brothers, Hugh Polly, Mustang, and Tommy Polly, Artesia, N.M.; three sisters, Janet Steele, Midland, Texas, Jackie Perminter, Odessa, Texas, and Judy Jarvis of Ruidoso, N.M.; 11 grandchildren, Otho Charles Thomas, Nathan Joel Thomas, Zachary Dale Bray, Jessica Casey Bray, Kaden Thomas, Ashtin Thomas, Austin Thomas, Kelly Sue Taylor, Raymond Joseph Reagan III, Krista Mae Reagan and Thomas Peter Reagan; and two great-grandchildren, Trae and Kenley Taylor.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Pastor Patterson and the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Seminole.

Memorials may be made to Northwood Church of the Nazarene.

Louese M. Walters

Louese M. Walters died Saturday in Oklahoma City at the age of 89.

Walters was born March 29, 1912, in Sparks to Daniel Sebery (Berry) and Leila Jane (Krone) Miller.

She married Haley Albert Walters on June 4, 1930.

Walters was a school teacher for more than 32 years in Lincoln County, retiring from Chandler Public Schools.

She attended Forest Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lila and Leslie Wilson, Chandler; special daughter, Nataline Collins, Chandler; grandson, Tony (Boodie) Wilson, Chandler; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandsons and a sister.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler, with the Rev. Jim Blair and the Rev. Dale Carney officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Park Cemetery.

James C. Tipton

James C. Tipton of Shawnee died Saturday in Shawnee. He was 75.

Tipton was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Macomb to John W. and Bertha (Cox) Tipton.

He graduated from Macomb High School.

On Aug. 23, 1945, he married Lois M. Patten in Tecumseh.

A lifelong Pottawatomie County resident, Tipton lived in Shawnee for the past six years. He was a telephone contractor until 1974. He then was a partner of Telephone Contracting Co., Garland, Texas, then became supervisor at Dobson Telephone Co. in McLoud. He retired in 1990.

Tipton was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmie Tipton.

Survivors include his wife Lois Tipton of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Gary J. and Cathy Tipton, Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter and son-in-law, C. Jan Tipton and David Austin, Shawnee; sister, Donna Knapton, Ventura, Calif.; two granddaughters, Rebecca Tipton and Heather Jeanmard, both of Lafayette, La.; great-grandson, Hunter Tipton, Lafayette; two great-granddaughters, Miranda and Emily Jeanmard, both of Lafayette; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Coker officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Phillip Spencer

Lifelong Shawnee resident Phillip Spencer died Friday in Shawnee. He was 51.

Spencer was born March 22, 1950, in Shawnee to Sandy and Lillie (Fox) Spencer.

On Nov. 29, 1994, he married Martha Harjo in Shawnee.

A cook, Spencer had worked at the Cinderella Motor Hotel, Grand Cafe, Seminole Bus Station and Holiday Inn.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a Seminole tribal member.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, son, Phillip Spencer Jr., his parents and brother, Sandy Spencer Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Spencer of the home; four daughters, Laurel Spencer and Phyllis Hernandez, both of Albuquerque, N.M., and Katie Spencer and Kylee Spencer, both of Norman; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Vivian and Joe Bender, Shawnee, Betsy and Glenn Casteel, Tecumseh, Rita and Don Vizenor, Tecumseh, Loretta and Bobby Murphy, Shawnee, and Mary Kizer, Norman; and many other relatives and friends.

Tribal wake services were Monday at the Murphy family home. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Houston Tiger and the Rev. Joe Bender officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.

Beecher Samuel Isaacs

Beecher Samuel Isaacs of Konawa died Friday in Ada. He was 82.

Isaacs was born May 12, 1918, in Bebee, Okla., to Jess and Ida Belle Isaacs.

He married Nora Muncreif Aug. 8, 1942, in Konawa.

A carpenter, Isaacs lived most his life in Konawa.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Isaacs.

Survivors include four sons, Aaron Isaacs and David Isaacs, both of Morenci, Ariz., Gary Isaacs and Drew Isaacs, both of Konawa; four brothers, Orville Isaacs, Vernon Isaacs, Billy Joe Isaacs and Douglas Isaacs, all of Konawa; five sisters, Wyoma Pairet, Brownsburg, Ind., Audrey Coorsey, Albuquerque, N.M., Lola Roberts, Bakersfield, Calif., LaVada Archer, Glendale, Ariz., Geneva Rodgers, Konawa; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Grace Community Church under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home with the Rev. Drew Isaacs officiating.
