RYAN FRAZIER OSBURN
STILLWATER, Okla. - Ryan Frazier Osburn, infant son of David and Toni Osburn, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 in the Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater.
Private family graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Tonkawa, Okla., with Rev. Rick Longcrier of the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, Okla., officiating.
Ryan is survived by: his parents, David and Toni Osburn, of Ponca City, Okla.; a twin sister, Claire Elise Osburn, of Ponca City; and grandparents Roland and Kay Frazier of Tonkawa, Bill and Louise Rigdon, of Blackwell, and David and Tami Osburn, Sr., of Grove.
Services were under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home in Blackwell.

MARY ELIZABETH PANCAKE
GROVE - Mary Elizabeth Pancake, age 74, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Ralston Cemetery.
Mary Pancake was born on September 14, 1927 in Muncie, Kan., to Fred and Pearl (Dodgen) Bond. She married John Pancake on February 10, 1977 and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2000. Mrs. Pancake worked as a waitress throughout her life. She had lived in the Grove area approximately 20 years, having moved from Joplin, Mo.
Survivors include: her daughter, Ginger Reed and husband, Don, of Afton, Okla.; one brother, Clarence Bond of Afton; three sisters, Nellie Ware of Afton, and Thelma Epperson and Carol Garrett, both of Joplin; five grandchildren; one step grandchild; 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and seven brothers and sisters.
Services were entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove.

JOHN CHARLES 'BUTCH' PANTHER
GROVE - Butch Panther, age 20, died Friday, July 5, 2002 in an accident near Grove. The son of Ron and Faye Elmore Panther Bushyhead, he was born on January 15, 1982 in Claremore, Okla. He attended the Church of God in Grove. Butch was a member of the Cherokee Nation.
He is survived by his parents Ron and Faye Bushyhead in Grove; four sisters, Brenda Gallegos, Michelle Panther, Misty Panther, and Cheyenne Bushyhead; a brother, Joe Bushyhead; his grandmother, Alline Bushyhead; and a niece and a nephew.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, in the Worley-Luginbuel Chapel. The interment will be in the Butler Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. The services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

HUEY D. PARADEE
VINITA, Okla. - Huey D. Paradee, age 89 of Vinita, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2002 at Craig General Hospital following an extended illness.
Huey was born June 26, 1912 in Crestline, Kan., to Harry J. and Alice E. (Jennings) Paradee. During his lifetime Huey worked as a farmer, truck driver, and construction worker.
Huey was united in marriage to Celestia F. Harris on May 13, 1933 at Casseville, Mo. They moved to the Vinita area in May 1992 from Columbus, Kan. Celestia preceded him in death on October 25, 2000. His parents and one sister, Ruby Moony, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three daughters, Jennie Bone of Englewood, Colo., Celestia Wright of Beauford, S.C., and Carolina Hibler of Wellington, Colo.; three sons, John Paradee of Foyil, Okla., Jimmie Paradee of Tuttle, Okla., and Huey E. Paradee of White Oak, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 7, at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel. Pastor Bruce Butler of Emmanuel Temple will officiate.
The services are under of the Burckhalter Funeral Home in Vinita.

EARL ALVIN PARK
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Earl Alvin Park, resident of Fairland, died at Grand Lake Villa, Grove, Friday evening after an illness. He was 83. He was born March 24, 1918 at Chelsea, Okla., to Charles and Bessie Park. He was disabled about the age of 19 and spent the remainder of his life in care facilities. He had resided in the Fairland Nursing Home since 1972, winning many friends and bringing happiness to those around him. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed those who visited him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by a brother, Jack Park of Big Cabin, and a sister, Billie Bishop of Glenpool.
A graveside service was conducted at Chelsea Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday, January 21, with Roland Adcock officiating. Services were under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home.

JOHN GEORGE PARKER
JAY, Okla. - John George Parker (Bud), 73, passed away at his home Saturday, November 2, 2002. Bud was one of nine children, born May 1, 1929 in Johnson County, Ark., to George Parker and Eula Cennedy (Parker). Bud attended school at Dry Creek and Ridenheur until the sixth grade. Bud was never married and worked as a farmer all his life. He loved to fish and bird hunt, and enjoyed music.
Bud is preceded in death by: his folks, seven brothers and sisters, and one niece. Bud is survived by one sister, Mary Downing; 10 nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
Family visitation will be held Tuesday evening, November 5, at Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay. Services will be Wednesday, November 6, at 2 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay. Bud will be laid to rest at the Eucha Cemetery, Eucha, Okla. Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay.

MYRTLE MAE PAYTON
COLCORD, Okla. - Myrtle Mae Payton, a lifelong resident of Colcord, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at the age of 85 in Grove. Born October 23, 1916 in Delaware County, Okla., she was the daughter of Joe Harrington and Pearl Morgan Harrington. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Colcord.
Survivors include: two sons, J.D. Payton and Elmer Payton, both of Colcord; one daughter, Betty Sue Link of Colcord; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Thompson of Ceres, Calif.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., with burial following in Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee City, Ark.
The services are under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

DANNY LEE PEAK
LONGVIEW, Mo. - Danny Lee Peak, age 27, of Longview, died Friday, January 25, 2002 at 10:12 a.m. at his home after a sudden illness.
Mr. Peak was born on July 9, 1973 in Springfield, Mo. He had lived about three weeks in the Longview community area and had spent most of the rest of his life in the Newtonia and Stark City, Mo., areas. He had also lived for short times in Grove, and Branson, Mo. He had attended the Baptist church in Fairview, Mo.
Survivors include: his parents, Connie and Wesley Fields, of Stark City; two sisters, Susan Kay Perry of the state of La., and Sabrina Lynn Fields of Stella, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Juanita and Jim Lentz of Newtonia; maternal great grandmother, Geneva Myers of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Kara Shea Peak and her mother, Angela Morvant, of Stark City; lifelong friend Michael Kimbrough and the Kimbrough family.
Funeralmation services for Danny Lee Peak will be held Monday, January 28, at 7 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. Following the service, cremation will be done at the Bella Vista Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson from 5 p.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Ozark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 520, Anderson, MO 64831.

GLADY'S J. PEGGS
MIAMI, Okla. - Glady's J. "Aunt Glad" Peggs of Miami died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2002 at the Osborn Rehab and Care Center in Miami after a short illness. She was 97. Aunt Glad was born January 15, 1905 at Vasco, Texas, to John Robert and Emma (Crabtree) Trent. She was a housewife and homemaker. She had met Harry J. Peggs in 1937 at a little cafe in Fairland. They ware married at Richmond, Ohio, on January 1, 1938, and lived in Richmond, Ohio, and retired at Orlando, Fla. Aunt Glad remained there for several years after Mr. Peggs died on August 23, 1970, but moved to Miami in 1983 to be near her family. Aunt Glad was a real lady, enjoying each day to the fullest. She crocheted and did hand work.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Goodnight, Brownfield, Texas; five nieces, Sue Thomspson, June Crownover, Mary Patterson, and Jane Rhodes, all of Miami; two nephews, Roger Rhodes, Oklahoma City, Okla., and John Rhodes, Miami; and 10 great nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, at the Fairland Cemetery with the Rev. Albert Amos officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami..

CHARLES HOUSTON PERRY, SR.
GROVE - Charles Houston Perry, Sr., 79, died Sunday, August 4, 2002 at Grove Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. Charles H. Perry was born on June 1, 1923 in Southwest City, Mo., to George W. and Ollie M. (Nuckolls) Perry, Sr. He was a graduate of Grove High School, and a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving in North Africa and Italy during World War II. Mr. Perry married Naomi Laverne Alverson on May 4, 1948 in Toms River, N.J. She preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 1990. He worked for M.W. Kellog for 40 years building oil refineries. Mr. Perry served as Mayor of Grove for 12 years and was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by one son, Chuck Perry and wife, Victoria, Grove; one granddaughter, Megan Perry, Grove; one step grandson, Jeremy Schoonover and wife, Janae; two step great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jewellia Schoonover; and one sister Sylvia Machado, Brentwood, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Robert Perry.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, at Delaware Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery with the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Family visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163
Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.

JOE HALL PETERSON
GROVE - Joe Hall Peterson, age 78, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at his home after a long illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, Kan., with Rev. Kim Hays officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove, and on Monday, February 25, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.
Joe Peterson was born February 24, 1923 in Atlanta, Kan., the son of Joseph and Estella Bell (Hall) Peterson. He was united in marriage to Geneva (Strait) Johnson on February 24, 1959. She survives. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Lake Center Baptist Church in Grove. He moved to Grove in 1989 from Augusta. He retired from Vickers Petroleum and Herman Oil of Wichita, Kan. after 20 years of service.
Survivors include: his wife, Geneva Peterson, of the home; two sons, Dennis Peterson of Grove, and Andy Peterson and wife, Roxanne, of Loganville, Ga.; four daughters, Cindy Crane and husband, Causie, of Loganville, Mary Edson and husband, Claude, of Grove, Vicki Eaton and husband, Jim, of Kansas City, Kan., and Karen Corbin and husband, Ted, of Augusta; one sister, Nadine Brotemarkle of Wichita; 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Vernon Peterson and his twin, Jay Peterson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 2106 S. Main, Suite #315 of Grove.
Services are entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home of Grove.

BETTY 'SIS' ANDERSON PHELPS
MIAMI, Okla. - Betty "Sis" Anderson Phelps, age 67, of Miami, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at the Hillcrest Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., after an illness.
Mrs. Phelps was born March 17, 1935 in Racine, Mo., to Lee and Freda (Cherry) Anderson. As a youth she lived in Picher, graduating from Picher High School. She moved to Miami in the 60's after marrying Fred Bailey Phelps, Sr. on July 8, 1961. Mr. Phelps preceded her in death on December 12, 1974.
Mrs. Phelps was an area waitress for many years, a mother and homemaker.
Survivors include: a son, Fred Bailey Phelps, Jr., of Miami; a daughter, Billi Jayne Mathis and husband, David, of Miami; four brothers, Bill Anderson and wife, Joann, of Springfield, Ill., Gordon (Bud) Anderson of Springfield, LeRoy Anderson and wife, Janice, of Miami, and Ronald Anderson and wife, Ruth, of Enid, Okla.; five sisters, JoAnn (Jody) Anderson of Miami, Rosa Lea Dyer and husband, John, of Miami, Anna Lou Glover and husband, Bob, of Grove, Barbara Collins and husband, Bub, of Kansas City, Kan., and Catherine Brock and husband, Bob, of Arlington, Ind.; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami. Tom Laughlin will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Ferris, Joseph May, David Mathis and Ben Wells.

SCOTT PHILLIPS
JAY, Okla. - Scott Phillips, a retired postal carrier, passed away on December 28, 2001 at the age of 82. He carried the mail from Jay to Colcord for many years and was an avid horseman. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and was awarded the Purple Heart and the French Silver Cross Medals.
He leaves his wife, Emma, of the home; one son, Joe Scott Phillips, and wife, Julia, of Muskogee, Okla.; one daughter, Rhonda Cunningham, and husband, Dearl, of Jay; four grandchildren, Ty Cunningham and wife, Jennifer, of Sapulpa, Okla., Wade Cunningham and wife, Jackie, of Jay, and Clint and Josh Cunningham of the home. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Phillips, and nephews Craig and Robert Phillips and their families.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 31, at Duffield Memorial Cemetery of Jay.
Services were under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.
