Paul Edward Brown
Our loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away November 26, 2004.

Paul was born in Medford Oregon, September 30, 1932 where he resided until his death.

Paul served as a Military Policeman in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He started the first armored car service in Southern Oregon, Secured Armored Car Service, Inc. His other businesses included Rogue Excursions Unlimited, Divide Wilderness Outfitters, Secured Courier and Songs to Screen Productions. Paul had a passion for filming God's creation and gospel music which he utilized to create videos to share with others.

He is survived by his devoted wife Janet and children, Denise Copeland of Jacksonville; Terri Hay of Medford, Angela Friesen of Puyallup, WA, Christina Staley, Tom Staley, Carolyn Maloney, Natalie Staley, and Donald Staley; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Paul is also survived by his sisters; Bessie Bishop, Ellen Johnson, Joan Roby all of Medford, Deanna Friesen of Portland, and Carol Smith of Phoenix, OR; his brothers, Bill Brown of Silverdale, WA, Bob Brown of Vancouver B.C. and Audie Brown of Rocky Point, OR. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Chester and Etta Brown.

A graveside service for family will be held at 1 p.m. Mon. Nov. 29, 2004 at the VA cemetery in Eagle Point.

An informal time of fellowship and sharing to celebrate Paul's life will be at 6 p.m. at Rogue Valley Christian Fellowship, 2373 S. Pacific Hwy., (next to Roxy Ann Lanes).

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

Wm. Kenneth Nicholas
A private memorial service will be held for Wm. Kenneth Nicholas, 94, of Medford who died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004.

Mr. Nicholas was born June 16, 1910, in Plymouth, England to William Bolitto Nicholas and Tryphena Jane Hitchens. He married Ethel Lilly Wilkins on Dec. 15, 1934 in Denver, CO. He and Ethel moved to Medford in 1975 and were active in the Medford YMCA.

He is survived by his companion of many years, Mildred Mack, a son William Nicholas, four nieces, twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, wife Ethel in 1990 and son David in 2003.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens, Medford.

Arthur Rafael Corbin
Arthur Rafael Corbin, 81, passed away Wednesday Nov. 24th, 2004, in Portland, OR. Mr. Corbin was a former resident of the Applegate Valley. A graveside service is expected on December 3rd, 2:00 p.m. at the Jacksonville cemetery.

Bernardine Clark
Bernardine Clark, 72, of Rogue River died today, November 27, 2004, at her home. Arrangements are pending with Chapel of the Valley. L.B. Hall Funeral Home.

Donald Carl Baker
Donald Carl Baker, 77, of Butte Falls passed away on Friday, November 26, 2004 at his residence. Arrangements by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.

John Lowery
John Lowery, 79, of Shady Cove, died November 26, 2004 at Providence Medford Medical Center. Funeral Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Violet Mae Fink
Violet Mae Fink, 84, of Gold Hill, Oregon died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at her residence. Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are with Abbey Funeral Inc. of Medford, OR.

Christopher Elic Oliver
Christopher Elic Oliver, 24 (Mar. 13, 1980), of Trail, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, in a car accident in Trail. Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Helen Wright
Helen Wright, 85 (Mar. 21, 1919), of Medford, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Waterford Three Fountains, Medford. Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Lois Lucille Ross
Lois Lucille Ross, 82, of Ashland, died at her home on Friday, July 2, 2004. Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Lola W. Jones
Lola W. Jones, age 87, of Ashland, died Friday, July 2, 2004 at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Thomas Monroe Denney
Thomas Monroe Denney, 63, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2004) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Arrangements; Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Margaret 'Peggy' Barnes
RN LNP Margaret P. "Peggy" Barnes died on Monday, November 1, 2004 in Falls Church, VA.

She was the beloved wife of the late Russell G. Barnes MD; loving mother of Rev. Jeffry Barnes of Eagle Butte, SD, Jill Barnes of San Jose, CA and Jud Barnes of Springfield, VA.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren and by brother, Chester A. Powers of Hackensack, NJ.

Interment to be held December 4, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Siskyou Memorial Park in Medford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggy's name to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, 3300 Gallows Rd., Falls Church, VA 22042.

Margie Ritterbusch
Margie Ritterbusch, 90, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2004) in Eagle Point.

A memorial service has been held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Medford Medical Center Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97501.

Mrs. Ritterbusch was born on July 23, 1914 in Long Beach, CA. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1944 from Long Beach.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the organ and piano.

She was a loving mother, and a friend to all.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue Galpin of Eagle Point, Shirlene Evans of Surprise, AZ. and Nancy Christensen of Central Point; her brothers, Charles Davis of Grants Pass, and Norman Davis of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Folks in 1971, her second husband Earl Ritterbusch in 2003, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, Medford.

Melda M. Spani
Melda M. Spani, 97, of Medford, died Monday (Nov.29, 2004).

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, Central Point.

Melda was born August 21, 1907 to Anna and Henry Link at Chase, Kansas. On May 23, 1932 she married Raleigh J. Spani who preceded her in death in 1966. She moved to Medford in 1994 to be near her family.

She was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Church, Central Point.

She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Mary of Medford; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by eight siblings, her son Thomas and granddaughter, Sherri Voran.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Providence Hospice, 1660 E. McAndrews, Medford.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Rachel Russo
Rachel Russo, 63, of Medford, died Thursday (Dec. 2, 2004) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Arrangements; Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.

Vera Mae Force
Vera Mae Force, 66, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (Dec. 2, 2004). Arrangements; Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Burrel 'Gene' McCall
Burrel "Gene" McCall, 59, of Medford, died Sat., Nov. 27, 2004 at home.

Private graveside services will be at the Eagle Point National Veterans cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Hospice, 2960 Doctors Park Dr., Medford, OR 97504.

He was born May 10, 1945 in Kooskia, Idaho to Elmer and Edna (Hancock) McCall. Gene served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. On Nov. 3, 1982, he married Mary Sheeran in Denville, NJ, who survives.

Gene was a log truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club.

In addition to his wife Mary, survivors include: his sons, Curtis McCall of Dover, NJ, G. William Landgraf of Central Point, and Brian McCall of Phoenix, OR; daughters, Jill Vencill of Williams and Victoria Tabb of Klingerstown, PA; sisters, Carol Harloff of Jacksonville, FL, Janet Rosecrans of Gold Hill, and Ruth Brown of Grants Pass; brother, Richard Thurmond of Running Springs, CA; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donald R. Sanford
Donald R. Sanford, 80, of Central Point, died Nov 27, 2004 at home. A graveside service will be held Wed. at the Eagle Point National cemetery at 11 a.m.

Donald was born Sept 18, 1924, in Seaside, Oregon the son of Bryon and Hazel (Harmon) Sanford. He lived in the area since 1940, moving here from Warrington, Or.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice.

He served in the US Navy during WW II.

He worked most of his life as a logger. He had played semi-pro baseball as a yonng man and lived to watch his grandson play ball.

Mr. Sanford enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his son Ronald of Central Point; his daughter Susan Schwartz of Central Point; grandchildren, Deanne, Sherman, Andrea, Corrine, Bruce, Kellie and Byron; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point.

John Lowery
John Lowery, 79, of Shady Cove, Oregon died Friday, November 26, 2004.

A memorial service celebrating John's life will be at 11 a.m. Wed. Dec. 1, at the Shady Cove Assembly of God Church on Mallory Lane, in Shady Cove.

John was born August 25, 1925, in Lee Creek, Arkansas to Nelson Lowery and Minnie Sawyer Lowery. On March 9, 1946, he married Lorene Rush, who survives.

John and Lorene came to Oregon in 1947 and resided in Shady Cove. John was a timber faller in the southern Oregon area for many years. His love and knowledge of the mountains of the area was apparent in his many stories of past lore he shared with family and friends.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was often exploring the mountains he loved so well.

John is survived by his loving wife, Lorene and sons, John and Steve Lowery; daughter, Edith Thames, all of Shady Cove, OR; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, seven sisters, and his parents.

John was a wise and loving husband, father, and friend. He is sorely missed by all.

Lois Marie Headley
A memorial service for Lois Marie Headley will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at Lighthouse Church, 520 N. Holly, Medford.

Mrs. Headley of Eagle Point, died Saturday (Nov. 27, 2004) in Medford.

She was born on Aug. 14, 1933 in Missouri to John and Bessie Andoe.

Mrs. Headley worked as a cannery worker and as a housewife.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Lee Thompson of Eagle Point, Michael Shane Thompson of Quincy, CA; a daughter, Nona Jean Myers of Eagle Point; a sister, Doris Moss of Henderson, NV; a brother, Dean Andoe of CA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Andoe and Garland Andoe.

Reta Stotts Niehaus
11/16/20 - 11/9/04

Reta Stotts Niehaus of Medford, passed away on November 9, 2004. She was born in Buffalo NY Nov. 16, 1920. She moved to California in 1946 with her husband Robert Stotts who preceded her in death. Reta married Harry Niehaus in 1975, who preceded her in death in 2003.

She was a trustee and longtime member of St. Johns Church; charter member Elks Emblem Club, a 35-year member and past president of Woodland Business & Professional Women's Club. She was a volunteer with the community CareCar, and Senior Center.She was office manager at Motroni-Heard Lumber Co. for many years.

In Medford, Reta was a Providence Hospital Guild volunteer. She spent many hours playing pinochle at her residence at the Fountain Plaza Active Retirement Community, and the local Senior Center. In her 1½ years in Medford she made many friends and spent hours doing her favorite activity, shopping with her daughter.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Denis Edwards; son, Dave Stotts and partner Rita Brunelli; granddaughter, Shelley Marston and fiance Jamie Raley; grandson Ryan Stotts; and step-grandson Dale Edwards and his wife Christina.

A celebration of her life will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at Fountain Plaza, 1441 Morrow Rd. Medford.

The family requests that any donations be made to Providence Hospice.
