Martha F. Jacobson
The funeral for Martha F. Jacobson will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Faith Tabernacle in Ashland. Curt Wine will officiate. Interment will be at Mountain View cemetery in Ashland.

Mrs. Jacobson, 89, of Ashland, died Saturday (Oct. 26, 2002) in Ashland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation, 280 Maple St., Ashland, OR 97520, or Faith Tabernacle Mission Fund, P.O. Box 1, Ashland, OR 97520.

She was born Feb. 2, 1913, at Equality Hospital, Williams County, North Dakota. On June 24, 1936, in Crosby, N.D., she married John O. Jacobson, who died in 1992.

Mrs. Jacobson was a homemaker. She lived in Ashland from 1980 to 2002.

She was an avid bowler and one of her photographs won Grand Champion at the Oregon State Fair.

Mrs. Jacobson enjoyed photography, gardening and sewing.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Rae Sabin, Ashland; a sister, Pearl Jacobson, Ashland; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar and William Weber.

Chester Donald Hendrickson
The memorial service for Chester Donald Hendrickson will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Eagle Point National cemetery.

Mr. Hendrickson, 75, of Medford, died Oct. 22, 2002, at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born July 20, 1927, in Kerry, Ore., to Evan and Mary (Ranta) Hendrickson.

Mr. Hendrickson was an accountant with a paper mill. He moved to the Rogue Valley 12 years ago from San Jose, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include two brothers, Ralph Hendrickson, Applegate and Wendell Taylor, Las Vegas; and three sisters, Geraldine Crane, Jacksonville, and Dorothy Skipper and Arlene Garman, both Portland.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.

Richard J. 'Dick' Camden
The memorial service for Richard J. "Dick" Camden will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God in Rogue River. Pastor Vern Marks of Salem and Pastor Brian Boisen of Hope Presbyterian Church in Rogue River will officiate.

Mr. Camden, 71, of Central Point, formerly of Rogue River, died Saturday (Oct. 26, 2002) at his home of a heart attack.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Crater Lake Ave., Suite 10, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born May 24, 1931, in The Dalles, to James and Vella (Darr) Camden. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1947 from Olympia, Wash. He graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1949. He attended the University of Oregon and what is now Southern Oregon University. In 1955, he graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago.

On July 31, 1952, in Medford, he married Cecile Morris, who survives.

Mr. Camden had a dental practice in Rogue River for 45 years. He lived in Rogue River from 1957 to 1996.

He served as a dentist for the U.S. Air Force for two years at Paine Air Force Base in Everett, Wash.

Mr. Camden became an Eagle Scout at age 13. He was a lifetime member of the American Dental Association, and a member of the Oregon Dental Association and the G. V. Black Dental Society. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church of Rogue River and most recently attended the Assembly of God in Jacksonville. He served as president of the Full Gospel Business Fellowship, Rogue River Chapter, for 11 years.

He enjoyed motorcycling and had just returned from a 3, 600-mile excursion in Australia to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary. He also enjoyed bicycling and was active in the Seattle-to-Portland bike ride for 10 years. He was a tri-athlete, a swimmer, snow and water skier and bungee jumper. He participated in the World Senior Games and attended five summer Olympics.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Brad, Gasquet, Calif.; two daughters, Cheryl Smith, Medford, and Linda Smith, Portland; a brother, Larry, Centennial, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Curtis Lee Nelson
Curtis Lee Nelson, 48, of Medford, died Friday (Oct. 25, 2002) at his home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

He was born Nov. 22, 1953, in Medford, to Larry James and Shirley Ann Nelson. He was a 1972 graduate of Medford Senior High School.

Mr. Nelson worked in electronic manufacturing.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a daughter, Jacki Lynn Nelson, Portland; his mother, Shirley Nelson, Medford; and a sister, Lori Andrew, Sarasota, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry J.; and a sister, Nancy Jean.

Frederick James LaBarre Keith
The memorial service for Frederick James LaBarre Keith will be at 3 p.m. today at Rogue Valley Fellowship. Pastor Dave Booye will officiate.

Mr. Keith, 59, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Nov. 5, 2002) at his home.

The date of death was incorrect in Friday’s obituary.

Karney Kelly
The memorial service for Karney Kelly will be at 11 a.m. today at Eastwood Baptist Church in Medford. The Rev. George Nye will officiate. Inurnment will be at Eagle Point National cemetery.

Mr. Kelly, 84, of Medford, died Tuesday (Nov. 5, 2002) at his home.

Scott Randolph Wickersham
A celebration of the life of Scott Randolph Wickersham will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Arts and Crafts Building at the Josephine County Fairgrounds in Grants Pass. Chaplain Sandi Richard will officiate.

Mr. Wickersham, 88, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (Nov. 6, 2002) at his home.

He was born Nov. 2, 1914, at the family homestead at Provo, S.D., near Edgemont, S.D., to Milton A. and Clara A. Wickersham. He completed eight years of education, traveling between the family’s homestead and the elementary school 1½ miles away. He left school at age 15, and began working as a truck driver between South Dakota and Colorado to help pay tuition for two of his sisters to attend beautician’s school. On Nov. 20, 1937, in Redding, Calif., he married Virginia King. They divorced in 1979. She died in 2000.

Mr. Wickersham moved to the Rogue Valley in 1942 and lived at Camp White Army Base from 1943 to 1945. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stationed at Camp White from 1943 to 1944. He lived in Medford from 1946 to 1979, and in Grants Pass from 1990 to 2002.

Mr. Wickersham drove produce, lumber, military and logging trucks from the 1930s through the late 1940s. In 1950, he began work as a salesman for Crater Lake Motors in Medford, and later managed the truck sales department for 15 years. He also worked in truck sales for the Medford Kenworth dealership. He retired from Crater Lake Motors in 1979.

After his retirement he settled near his son, Rick, in Grants Pass and assisted at the family milking-goat ranch.

Mr. Wickersham was a founding member of the Southern Oregon Trucking League, an organization formed to promote the interests of independent truckers. He also made substantial contributions to organizations promoting health, community service and vocational education.

Mr. Wickersham was known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed driving his 1965 pickup, which he maintained in near-new condition, spending time with his family and traveling between South Dakota, California and Oregon to visit his sisters and their families.

Survivors include two sons, Rick, Grants Pass, and Mike Sammamish, Wash.; a daughter, Linda Kremer, Emigrant, Mont.; a sister, Thecil Johansen, Lakeport, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lenore Johnson, Neva Johnson, and Vera Hand.

Jeannie Clark
The memorial service for Jeannie Clarke will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chetco Senior Center in Brookings.

Mrs. Clarke, 64, of Brookings, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 7, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 11, 1938, on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Mont. She married George Clarke in Mexico on Sept. 5, 1965, and again in 1991 in Brookings. He survives.

Mrs. Clarke was the owner of the H & L Hideaway in Medford and the Royal Colony in Central Point from 1968 to 1975. She also owned the Talk of the Town Restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska, from 1975 to 1979. After moving back to Brookings, she worked as a waitress at the Ship A Shore for 15 years, where she was known as "Olive Oil." For the past eight years she owned Clarke’s Building Maintenance in Brookings.

She enjoyed helping others, all arts and crafts, cooking and telling a good joke.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, John, Fairbanks, Alaska; three daughters, Sherry Clarke Leamons, Nampa, Idaho, and Gina Clarke Bond and Doris Clarke Hodges, both Brookings; her parents, Doris and Gene Thompson, Brookings; a sister, Joy Bailey, Blackfoot, Idaho; a brother Donald Rodriguez, Anaheim. Calif.; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rene Clarke.

Arrangements: Southern Oregon Cremation Services, Grants Pass.

Floyd Jesse Jones
Floyd Jesse Jones, 75, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Medford, died Nov. 1, 2002, at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Wash. No service is planned.

He was born July 12, 1927, in Medford, to Jesse and Zeffa (Coy) Jones. He completed two years of college. He married Ruth Rymer, who survives.

Mr. Jones was a real estate broker for various real estate companies.

He served in the military.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a stepson, Nevin Miller.

Arrangements: Green Funeral Home, Bellevue, Wash.

Charles LeRoy DeWolfe
Charles LeRoy DeWolfe, 85, of Medford, died Wednesday (Nov. 6, 2002) at a local foster care facility. No service is planned. Private entombment will be in Twin Oaks cemetery in Albany.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

He was born March 7, 1917, in Tacoma, Wash., to William and Sara Mae (Collings) DeWolfe. On Sept. 26, 1964, in Harrisburg, he married Marybelle Blehm, who preceded him in death.

Mr. DeWolfe worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation for 22 years. He lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. DeWolfe was a lifetime member of the Christian church.

He enjoyed traveling, fishing and working in his garden.

Survivors include nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Eddie Maxwell Heim
The graveside service for Eddie Maxwell Heim will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Jacksonville cemetery. Pastor Fred Sapp of Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church of Medford will officiate.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501; or Advent Christian Church, 704 Welch St., Medford, OR 97501.

Mr. Heim, 83, of Talent, died Thursday (July 18, 2002) at his home.

He was born March 1, 1919, in Guthrie, Okla., the son of Eyer Guy and Edith (Abbott) Heim. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1941.

On July 19, 1942, in Medford, he married Maxine Joyce Childers, who survives.

Mr. Heim was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked as a private detective, night watchman, police officer, municipal judge, carpenter and brick mason.

Mr. Heim was certified to teach agriculture and shop. He was a school board member. In 1981, he retired from Phoenix High School after 18 years as an engineer and head custodian. Mr. Heim owned the Talent Feed Store and Gas Station.

He was a founding member of what is now Jackson County Fire District No. 5.

Mr. Heim was a member of Ashland Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and wife of 60 years at the couple’s ranch.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Allen Heim of Medford and Eddie W. Heim of Talent; and a daughter, Judy Welburn of Talent; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Lola Faye Philipp
A graveside service for Lola Faye Philipp is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at the Eagle Point National cemetery. The Rev. Philip Welklin, a Seventh-day Adventist minister, will officiate.

Mrs. Philipp, 80, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (July 17, 2002) at her home.

She was born Oct. 29, 1921, at Ponds Creek, Okla. On April 24, 1958, in St. Louis, Mo., she married Reinhard Philipp, who survives.

Mrs. Philipp moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago from San Jose, Calif.

She was a homemaker and member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She enjoyed painting, especially in oils, and crafts.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Kevin Philipp of Eagle Point and David Wayland of Enumclaw, Wash.; and three daughters, Sharon Ashker of Central Point, Donna Wachter and Penny Philipp, both of Eagle Point; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
