Louis E. Bouch

October 5, 1900 - October 9, 2003

Lois E. Bouch, 103 of North Main Street, Butler, died Thursday, October 9, 2003 in at her residence.

Born October 5, 1900 in Slate Lick, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of William Palmer Robinson and Mary Elizabeth McGeary.

Mrs. Bouch graduated from Grove City College, Class of 1922.

She was formerly a schoolteacher for South Brownsville High School and Latrobe High School.

She was a member of the Butler Garden Club, Pittsburgh Garden Center, and the Butler Country Club.

She enjoyed playing bridge.

Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews by marriage.

Her husband, Matthew L. Bouch, whom she married on October 3, 1925, passed away on August 1, 1987.

There will be no visitation or funeral service.

Arrangements are being made by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Jane Berg

March 14, 1901 - December 16, 2003

Jane Berg, 102 of Sarver, formerly of New York City, New York, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 11:20 a.m. at Fair Winds Manor.

Born March 14, 1901 in Bradford, England, she was the daughter of Samuel Reuben and Esther Gladstone.

Mrs. Berg came to America in 1910.

Mrs. Berg was a homemaker.

She was a member of United Order of True Sisters".

Mrs. Berg is survived by two sons, Larry M. Berg of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Irwin Berg of Commack, New York, Six Grandchildren, Fourteen Great-Grandchildren, number of nieces and nephews, and a number of great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Berg married her husband Herman Berg on August 21, 1927 in New York City, New York; he preceded her in death on June 13, 1984.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Graveside services will be held at Mount Moriah cemetery, Fairview, New Jersey.

Local arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Boyd F. Beatty

March 18, 1925 - November 30, 2003

Boyd F. Beatty, 78 of Villa Drive, Butler, died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at 11:35 p.m. at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 18, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Boyd G. Beatty and Irene E. Frederick.

Mr. Beatty worked for many years in the Aerospace Industry with G-L Electronics and Teleflex in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Most recently he was was an insurance agent for Paul Critchlow Insurance Agency.

He was a life member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Mr. Beatty was an alumni of Butler High School class of 1943 and Thiel College class of 1949.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and WW II, serving with the Seabees in the Aleutian Islands.

Mr. Beatty was a member of Victory Lodge #694 F & AM and VFW Post #249.

Mr. Beatty is survived by his wife, Marilynn C. Beatty, one daughter, Mrs. Sean (Lisa) Smarick of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, one son, William S. Beatty of Denver, Colorado, one sister, Mrs. Edith Winters of Butler, Pennsylvania, and one niece and one nephew.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Contributions may be sent to Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, Pennsylvania 16053.

Victory Lodge 694 F & AM will conduct a Memorial Services on Turesday, December 2, 2003 at 6:45 p.m. from the Funeral Home.

Mary Ann Baird

October 31, 1914 - October 23, 2003

Mary Ann Baird, 88 of Alameda Road, Butler, died Thursday, October 23, 2003 in at her residence.

Born October 31, 1914 in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Albert Burton Hilliard and Phoebe Estella Smith.

She was a homemaker. Mrs. Baird was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.

She attended Butler High School, class of 1933.

She was a charter member of the Alpha Society; a charter member of the Intermediate Woman's Club, a member of the G.F.W.C. Woman's club of Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Baird served on the board of the March of Dimes and was chairman of the "Mothers March" for a number of years.

Her hobbies were walking, baking, reading and playing bridge.

Surviving her are three sons, David DuWayne Baird of Tucker, Georgia, Larry L. Baird of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Douglas Lloyd Baird of St. Charles, Missouri, Thirteen Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, Two Step-Grandchildren, Four Step-Great Grandchildren.

Mrs. Baird married DuWayne L. Baird on May 28, 1937 he preceded her in death on August 24, 1984.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers including her sister, Catherine Elizabeth Lind whose death was April 24, 2002.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, from 2 to 4 and 7 and 9 P.M. Sunday, October 26, 2003.

Services will be held at the Hill United Presbyterian Church, Monday, October 27, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Eau Claire cemetery.

David C. Andre

July 23, 1916 - December 15, 2003

David C. Andre, 87 of Butler, died Monday, December 15, 2003 at 5:30 a.m. at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 23, 1916 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Urban A. and Minnie Elva McKelvey Andre.

Mr. Andre owned and operated the Andre Tea and Coffee business, until his retirement in 1977.

During his working years he was the national president of the Home Service Association, in 1965-1966.

The business had been founded by his father.

Mr. Andre was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Asbury Sunday School class for many years.

He was a long time member of the trustee board of the church and a member and former chairman of the administrative board.

Mr. Andre was a graduate of Allegheny College, class of 1939, and earned a B.A. degree in business administration.

He was a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Butler, and a life member and past president of the Salvation Army Advisory board of Butler.

He was a member of the Butler Masonic Lodge #272 F. & A. M., the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of New Castle, and the Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh.

He was also a life member of Butler Elks Club #170.

Mr. Andre was a veteran of U. S. Army European Theatre, serving in WW II from September 1942 to October 1945.

He served with the 10th Armored Division and was honorably discharged with the rank of Warrant Officer.

Mr. Andre is survived by his wife, Ethel L. Bowman Andre, to whom he had been married for 58 years, one son, Richard T. Andre of Fort Wayne, Indiana, one daughter, Mrs. William F. (Janis) Bird of Americus, Georgia.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kristin Andre, Scott Andre, and Steve Andre, of Ft. Wayne Indiana, Jonathan Bird of Atlanta, Georgia and Beth Bird of Americus, Georgia.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, Wednesday December 17, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Thursday, December 17, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. David Panther officiating.

Interment will follow in North Side cemetery

Stefanie L. Albert

May 24, 1985 - December 1, 2003

Stefanie L. Albert, 18 of Sawmill Run Road, Butler, died Monday, December 1, 2003 at 6:47 p.m. in Findley Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania as a result of an automobile accident.

Born May 24, 1985 in Riverside, California, she was the daughter of Francis J. Albert and Dawn Jordon.

Miss Albert was a student at Butler Senior High School.

Miss Albert is survived by her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. David (Dawn) Wilson of Butler, Pennsylvania, her father, Francis J. Albert of Butler, Pennsylvania, her fiancé, Oliver (Klaus) Euler of Butler, Pennsylvania, a sister, Brittany Albert, three brothers, Jason and Shane Albert, and David Wilson, Jr., her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Anita) Jordan, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Thursday December 4, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church, Friday December 5, 2003 at 11:00 am with Reverend Dennis Krajacic officiating.

Private interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
