SCHMOYER, on Thursday, December 28, 2006, Donald W. Schmoyer, husband of Marian J. (Reinert) Schmoyer, of New Berlinville, PA. Age 78 years. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday at Morrell Funeral Home, 124 West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA. Warren Davis Jr.
Warren S. Davis Jr., of East Norriton, formerly of Gulph Mills, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006. He was 75 years old. In the early 1970s, Mr. Davis was very active in the East Norriton Little League, coaching teams and serving on the Board of Directors. He was an avid golfer and later in life developed an enthusiasm for shooting pool. He shot on an 8 - ball and 9 - ball teams sponsored by several area pubs. He was a Tech. Director at the Weyerhauser and then later Simpson Paper Mill. He was a member of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Paratrooper, then served in the 17th Infantry Division in the Korean War, where he would receive a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Born April 25, 1931, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Warren S. Sr. and Ella (Earl) Davis, and the beloved husband of the late Margaret T. (Catagnus). Mr. Davis is survived by his two children, Warren S. Davis III and his wife, Bonnie of Yardley and Lisa Davis - Sipler and her husband, Jeff of Holland, Pa.; four grandchildren: Andrew and Erin Davis and Kasey and Nathan Sipler; and two sisters, Susan Maggio and Sandy Marsden. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard. Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. Daviss Life Celebration service on Wednesday, Jan. 3 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Boyd - Horrox, 200 West Germantown Pike, East Norriton. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at St. Patricks cemetery. - - - In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Montgomery Hospice, 25 W. Fornance St., Norristown, PA 19401.

SIMMERS, John E. On January 2, 2007. Of Chester, PA. Son of Thomas and the late Hazle (nee Corcoran) Simmers, father of John and Hazle Simmers, brother of Thomas (Linda) Simmers, Charles (Lisa) Simmers and Rose (Jeffrey Trosino) Simmers. Also survived by 4 nieces, 3 nephews and 1 great - nephew.   Services and interment private.

MEISER, James C., Jr. Age 66. Of Middletown Twp. Died January 4, 2007 at home. RUTH HESS    Ruth E. Hess, a resident of the Souderton Mennonite Homes, Franconia Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 4, 2007 in the skilled nursing unit. She was 83. She and her husband Raymond S. Hess celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 22. Born May 23, 1923, in Souderton, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Orpha (Eshelman) Landis. She at tended Summit Street Elementary School and Souderton High School and graduated from Messiah Academy in Grantham, Class of 1940. Ruth went to work for her father’s peanut butter factory after graduating from high school. She joined her husband, a conscientious objector, in the Civilian Public Service during World War II and served as secretary for the superintendent at the Delaware State Hospital. She worked as the office manager for Raymond S. Hess Builders. She also worked at the Souder Store and as the manager at the Souderton Care and Share Thrift Store.  Mrs. Hess was a lifelong member of Souderton Brethren in Christ Church, where she taught Sunday school, was actively involved with summer Bible school, sang in the choir, and helped to found the Quiz Team and the Pioneer Girls. She also enjoyed many hobbies including playing games, china painting, cooking, entertaining, doing needlework and sewing. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lois E. Walker of Chalfont and Sharon H. Gross and her husband, Rick, of Buena Park, CA; a son, Ray L. Hess and his wife, Cindy, of Souderton; five grandchildren, Wesley and his wife, Jodi, Sean and his wife, Kim, Jason, Jennifer and her husband, Juan, and Kehly; three great - grandchildren, Taylor, Alexa and Anthony; and a brother, John Landis of Souderton.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Ethan; and a granddaughter, Tristan. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 8, at 1 PM in Souderton Brethren in Christ Church, 494 Cherry Road, Souderton, PA 18964. Interment will follow in Silverdale Brethren in Christ cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Kid’s Clubs of Souderton Brethren in Christ Church at the above address. Arrangements by the Sadler - Suess Funeral Home in Telford.
