Willie Hancock

CHESTERFIELD — Mrs. Willie Faye Hancock, 73, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at her home. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 4, 2004, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Wednesday at the home of Cheryl and Jack Douglass, 715 West Main Street, Chesterfield at anytime until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Hancock was born in McBee, SC a daughter of the late Ernest and Linnie Shaw King. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing Co. and was married to the late Brooks Hancock. Mrs. Hancock was also preceded in death by a brother, Dewey King.

Survivors: 3 sons, Otto (Trudy) Hancock of Chesterfield, SC, Randy Hancock and Ernie (Kathy) Hancock of Cheraw, SC; 1 daughter, Cheryl (Jack) Douglass of Chesterfield, SC; 2 sisters, Cora Lee (Everett) Sellers of Charleston, SC and Lucille (David) Douglas of Chesterfield, SC; also 3 grandchildren, Pres Douglass, Ashley and Hadleigh Hancock all of Chesterfield, SC.

The family would like to express their heart felt appreciation to caregivers Jessica Blackwell and Jackie Rivers, and to all the Staff of Hospice of Chesterfield County for all the loving care and support shown to their loved one and to them.

Surviving: wife, Mary Huggins; sons, Ralph, William Jr., Johnny Huggins; siblings, Ellis, Clyde, Carl, Harold, Shirley; others.

Dean O’Banion

WARRENVILLE — Services for Frank “Dean” O’Banion are 11 a.m. Thursday (visitation 6-8 tonight) at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley; burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Born in Aiken Co. to Elijah and Addie O’Banion, he died Nov. 2, 2004. Surviving: wife, Reba J. O’Banion; children, George O’Banion, Judy Gross; sister, Bessie Reinert; grands, Monty Heath, Becky McDaniel, Tommy, Terry O’Banion; more.

WALTERBORO — Services for Janet Marie Linder Maddox, 57, are 11 a.m. Thursday (visitation 6-8 tonight) at Brice W. Herndon & Sons Funeral Home; burial in Tabernacle Cemetery, Smoaks. Born in Colleton Co. to Joseph and Mildred Linder, she died Oct. 31, 2004. Surviving: children, Morgan Maddox, Judy Meyers, Charles Pinckney; brothers, Joseph, Jim Linder; grands, Charlotte, Robert III, Cara.

Del Rockwood Jr.

SUMTER — A graveside service for Del John Rockwood Jr., 22, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sumter Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 tonight at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Born in Sumter to Del Sr. and Susan Rogers Rockwood, he died Nov. 1, 2004. Surviving are parents; grandparents, Charles and Annie Rogers, David and Dorothy Rockwood; sisters, Christy Zellers, Lisa Rockwood.

Peter Tobin

LODGE — A mass of Christian burial for Peter Anthony Tobin, 93, widower of Rose Tobin, is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church; wake 6 p.m. Thursday at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, Walterboro. Born in Plainfield, N.J., to John and Bridget Regan Tobin, he died Nov. 2, 2004. He was a WWII Army veteran. Surviving are nephews, Richard, John, Harry, Gary Tobin; niece, Eleanor Kugler.

Essie Parker

FLORENCE — Essie Mae Shaw Collins Parker, 88, of Florence, SC, died early Tuesday morning, November 2, 2004, in a Florence hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Parker was born in Marion County, SC, a daughter of the late Ellie and Flora Belle Lewis Shaw. She attended the Mullins Public Schools, was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Faithful Helpers Sunday School Class. She had retired from Dixie Cup of Darlington after 17 years employment.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Parker, who died in 1986.

Surviving are 1 son, William T. “Bob” Collins and his wife, Mary Collins, of Florence; 1 daughter Dorothy C. Devane and her husband William DeVane, of Florence; 1 brother, Jimmy Shaw of Florence; 1 sister, Doris Weatherford of Florence; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 special sisters-in-law, Emma Stokes and Frances Suggs both of Hartsville, SC.

Memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice, 555 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Shirley Smith

COLUMBIA — Services for Mrs. Shirley Ann Brooks Smith, 63, will be held 1 p.m. Thursday (viewing at 12 noon) in the Temple Zion Baptist Church with burial in the church’s cemetery. Wake services will be held 6 p.m. this evening in the Leevy’s Funeral Home, Taylor Street Chapel. Surviving are her husband, Wallace Smith; daughters, Cecelia Smith and Antoinette Smith James; sister, Leila Johnson; brother, Leon Brooks, Jr.; granddaughters, Ladaisa and Jada James.

Rebecca Wilkinson

ABBEVILLE — A graveside memorial service for Rebecca “Becky” Ewing Wilkinson, 91, widow of Bert Wilkinson, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Little Mountain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge. She died Nov. 1, 2004.

Andrew Washington

STUART POINT — Services for Staff Sgt. Andrew L. Washington , 46, 11 a.m. Thursday (wake 7-8 tonight) at 2nd Gethsemane Baptist Church; burial w/ military honors in Beaufort National Cemetery. Marshel’s Wright-Donaldson Home for Funerals, Beaufort, is in charge. Born in Beaufort to Elizabeth Watson and Halbrook Sanders Sr., he died Oct. 31, 2004. Surviving: parents; daughter, Andrea; stepmother, Julia.

Robert Younts

FLORENCE — Services for Robert W. “Bob” Younts, 70, are 3 p.m. Thursday at Dillon Church of God; entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum; visitation 7-9 tonight at Cooper Funeral Home, Dillon. Born in Leaksville, NC, to F. Wade and Mildred Simpson Younts, he died Nov. 1, 2004. Surviving are wife, Patricia P. Ross; daughters, Karen Griffin, Tammy Kale, Tiffany Ross; brother, Burton Younts; 5 grandchildren.

Maybelline Williams

LATTA — Services for Maybelline Quick Williams, 50, are 1 p.m. today at Antioch Baptist Church; burial in Pine Hill AME Churchyard. House of Thomas Funeral Home, Dillon, is in charge. Born in Marlboro Co. to Ernest and Dorothy Quick, she died Oct. 29, 2004. Surviving: husband, Calvin Williams; children, Calvin Jr., Arnold, Chris, Lawanda, Charlane Williams; siblings, Dorothy, Diane, Ernest, John, Roy; 20 grandchildren.

Vivian Cambra

NEWBEDFORD, Mass. — A memorial service for Vivian Cambra was held Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at 10 a.m. at First Calvary Baptist Church, Leesville, SC. The family received friends and family following the service at the church.

Vivian was born September 7, 1935 and died August 18, 2004.

She is survived by a son, Mark Cambra and his wife, Vici; grandchildren, Kendra, Nolan, Shelsea and one great-grandson, Justin Millette; one brother, Oscar Faile and one sister, JoAnn Faile, nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Kershaw, SC.

Lucille Durham

GREENVILLE — Services for Lucille S. Durham, 80, retired from Woodside Mills, widow of Bob Durham, 1 p.m. Thursday (11 a.m. visitation) at The Howze Mortuary; burial: Woodlawn Memorial Park. Born in Greenville Co. to H.O. and Effie Calloway Southerlin, she died Nov. 1, 2004. Surviving: daughter, Betty Lamb; granddaughter, Lisa Boiter; great-grandchildren, Jamie Boiter, Tiffany, Jessica, Mackenzie Lamb.
