Letha Lucille Floyd Odom, 90, widow of William “Willie” Luther Odom, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at a local nursing center.
Born in Florence, she was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Bub Floyd.
Mrs. Odom attended Midland Pentecostal Holiness Church and Green Acres Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are four sons, Jimmy Odom, Edwin Odom, Heyward Odom, and Willie James Odom all of Sumter; a daughter, Wilhelmenia O. Pack of Sumter; a brother, Thaddeus Floyd of Lake City; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Ann Conyers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Collins officiating.
Burial will be in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Barrineau.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 115 Carolina Avenue.

Ann Houck Wilson
1923-2008
Ann Houck Wilson, 84, died Friday, July 18, 2008 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born December 26, 1923 in Orangeburg, she was a daughter of the late Jerry Louis Houck and Maud Williams Houck.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in organizing the church choir, and was a member of the ladies circle. She retired from the Department of Social Services with 24 ½ years service as Supervisor of Homemakers. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and was a former school teacher in Lee County.
Surviving are two sons, Ed Wilson and wife Sandy of Sumter and Jerry Wilson of Sumter; two brothers, David Houck and wife Doddie of Longview, Texas and Elbert Houck and wife Judy of Lexington; two grandsons, Brian Edwin Wilson and David Phelps Wilson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Louis Houck, Jr. and Melvin Houck; and a half-sister, Sybil Riley.
Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Walt Kendall and the Rev. Stuart Mizelle officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.

Jean Richardson Alderman
1914-2008
Jean Richardson Alderman, 94, widow of Paul R. Alderman, Jr. died Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Tuomey Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Richard Charles Richardson and the late Margaret Sullivan Richardson.
Mrs. Alderman was a member of Grace Baptist Church for the past sixty years. She graduated from the Tuomey Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. She worked for nearly fifty years for two doctors in Sumter, Dr. Jack Rhame and Dr. Don DuBose.
Surviving is a daughter, Nancy A. Mims of Sumter; a son, Rev. Richard C. (Martha) Alderman of Little Rock, South Carolina; four grandsons, Jimmy Mims of Myrtle Beach, Jay Alderman and Rev. Christopher (Elizabeth) Alderman of Little Rock, SC, and Kevin (Kristin) Alderman of Dallas, Texas ; five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Paul, Aaron, Richard, and Taylor Alderman.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathy A. Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. James Chandler, Rev. Christopher Alderman and Rev. Dr. Richard Charles Alderman officiating.
Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 P.M. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church.

Ronald Edward Ulander, 70, husband of Christine (Chris) Samuelson Ulander, died Friday, July 18, 2008 at Tuomey Healthcare System.
Born in West Newton, Pa. he was a son of the late Oscar Ulander and Elsie Brostrom Ulander.
Mr. Ulander was of the Lutheran faith and was retired from Crescent Tool-Cooper Industries.
Surviving are his wife of Sumter; 2 daughters, Sheryl Chavey of Sumter; Michel Lanier and husband Richard of Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Janice Johnson and husband Joe of Ashville, N.Y.; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer O’Connor and husband Rob, Blake, Rachel, Jacob and Elena Chavey, Johanna and Amanda Lanier.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Mrs.Susan Price officiating.

Deloris “Dee” May Brezelle Jones, 75, wife of J. C. Jones, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Tuomey Healthcare System.
Born in Musctine, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Brezelle and the late Birdie Codar Brezelle.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church and the Iris Chapter #149 Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband of Sumter; two sisters, Hilda Long and Vera Krugger of Musctine, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sorrells and Rev. Dan Nichols officiating.

Willie Mae James Mann Leviner, 89, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Warren Alfred James and the late Mary Ann Bradham James.
Mrs. Leviner was a member of Christian Tabernacle Church.
She was twice married, first to the late Rev. James S. Mann and later to the late Rev. Robert L. Leviner.
Surviving are two sons, James S. Mann, Jr. and wife Lillian, William E. “Billy” Mann both of Sumter; two daughters, Shirley Ann Mann of Manning, Janet M. Mann of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Mary J. Smith of Capt. John, MD; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Revs. Sheldon Weeks, Morris Smith and Larry Christopher officiating.
Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
