SENECA — Paul Gibson Cannon Jr., 62, of 170 Harbin Road, husband of Mary Sue McKittrick Cannon, passed away May 27, 2000, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Shelby, N.C., he was a son of the late Paul Gibson Cannon Sr. and Dora Carr Cannon. He was a machinist, a former paramedic with Laurens County EMS and had served in the Air Force.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Tanya Lynn Williams of Laurens; two stepsons, Russell Sumeral and Andy Sumeral, both of Laurens; a stepdaughter, Beth Neel of Kinards; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 Wednesday at Kennedy Mortuary, Laurens, conducted by the Rev. J.B. Abercrombie.
Visitation is from 6-8 today at the mortuary.
The family is at 112 David St., Laurens.

Julian H. Dean
ORANGEBURG — Julian Hubert Dean, 84, passed away May 28, 2000.
Born in Ninety Six, he was a son of the late James and Elizabeth Dean. He was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church and a retired engineer of the Ethyl Co.
Survivors include two daughters, Maude Guilford of Houston and Juliette Lloyd of Orangeburg; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 Wednesday at Smith Hammond Middleton Memorial Center, South Carolina State University, with burial in Belleville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 6-7 tonight at Glover’s Funeral Home.

Loyd W. Dover
NINETY SIX — Loyd Willard Dover, 83, of 14 Bolt Circle, husband of Minnie Lee Eustace Dover, passed away May 29, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Stevens County, Ga., he was a son of the late Andrew and Sally Edmonds Dover. He was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a stepdaughter, Dewette Gable of Ninety Six; two sisters, Violet Pressley of Greenwood and Ruth Phillips of Toccoa, Ga.; seven step-grandchildren and a number of step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. David Evans Sr. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Owens Gary, Ron Eustace, Preston Gable, Shane Hamby, Dewitt Pressley and Steve Pressley.
Honorary escorts are Mark Eustace, J.C. Stevens, Dewey Frank Pressley, Roy Pressley, Marvin Pressley and Jerry Lee Pressley.

McCORMICK — Services for Albert “Big Boy” Freeman, of 909 Pine St. Extension, will be at 2 Wednesday at Springfield AME Church, conducted by the Rev. Henderson Louden, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Ivory Goodwin and the Rev. Melvin Searles. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are nephews and great-nephews.

ATLANTA — John Westley Raindrop, of 2048 Claude St., husband of Jacquelyn Parr Raindrop, passed away May 26, 2000, at Crawford Long Hospital.
Born in Calhoun Falls, he was a son of the late Wade and Lizzie Raindrop.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Paradise Baptist Church, Bankhead Highway, Atlanta, conducted by the Rev. Lewis Baker. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Rickey Ellis
LEVEL LAND — Richard “Rickey ” Earl Ellis, 41, of 3636 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, Fla., passed away May 29, 2000, at J.F.K. Hospital in West Palm Beach.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of Olin P. and Mollie Carrington Ellis. He was an interior design decorator and a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Anderson.
Survivors include his parents of Level Land; a brother, Andy Ellis of Due West; and a sister, Linda White of Level Land.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Charles Fuller. Burial will be in Little River Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

GREENWOOD — Jesse James “Mudd” Foster, 58, of 5-D Twin Oaks Apartments (Greenwood Gardens), passed away May 30, 2000, at his home.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Bennie and Virginia Parks Foster. He was a member of Ebenezer AME Church and a former employee of Metromont.
Survivors include three sons, Jesse James Foster Jr. of Ninety Six, Tracy Foster of Philadelphia and Brett Williams of Greenwood; a daughter, Glenda Moore of Greenwood; a brother, Henry Phillips of Greenwood; a sister, Clyde F. McCier of Greenwood; and six grandchildren.

Arturo R. Molina
NINETY SIX — Arturo R. “Mo” Molina, 64, of 410 Sirrene St., husband of Hazel Goude Molina, passed away May 22, 2000, at his home.
Born in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Arturo Molina and Maria M. Rodriguez. He retired from the Air Force, serving 22 years at duty stations in Texas , Mississippi, Louisiana, North and South Carolina, North Dakota, Hawaii, Virginia, Maryland, Libya, Japan, Vietnam and Germany. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Abbeville. He won many amateur golf tournaments and did golf club repair and woodwork.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, conducted by Father Fitzgerald. Entombment, with full military rites, will be at 11:30 in Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood.

William E. Payne
PIEDMONT — William E. Payne, 81, of 130 Barbara Drive, widower of Mildred Fortner Payne and Sarah Reynolds Payne, passed away May 30, 2000.
Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late Joe Allen and Carrie Smith Payne. He retired from J.P. Stevens with 44 years of service and was a member of Piedmont United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary P. McLemore of Greenville, Margie Payne of Piedmont and Alene P. Bailey of Dallas, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Claudia Sorrow and Nancy Suttlemeyer, both of Greenwood; and a stepson, Jim Reynolds of Calhoun Falls.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, conducted by the Rev. J.C. Sorrow. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at the mortuary.

Anneliese M. Cobb
COLUMBIA — Anneliese Marquardt Cobb, of 6728 Two Notch Road, wife of Lawrence W. Cobb, passed away May 1, 2000.
Born in Kleinsteinheim, Germany, she was a daughter of the late George and Anny Vratil Marquardt. She was a 1940 graduate of Coker College and a member of Skyland Drive Bible Church. Formerly of 116 Gracemont Drive, Greenwood, she taught piano in her home for many years and was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband of Columbia; and a daughter, Liesl Cobb Kii of Atlanta.
Services were Wednesday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street. Burial was private.
