Hazel L. 'Rusty' Hale
ONONDAGA, Mich. - Hazel L. "Rusty" Hale of Onondaga, Mich., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at the age of 76.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Kelley Hale, in 1996, her parents and siblings.
She is survived by one son, Jack (Gail) Hale of Ballwin, Mo.; one daughter, Cassandra (Merle) Grimm of Brookshire, Texas; three grandchildren, Troy and Jody Hale and Kelly Ann Grimm; sister, Olive Bray of California; brother-in-law, Tom (Sue) Hale of Decatur, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hale was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, where she served as Church Clerk and President of the Women's League. She was also a member of Friends of Dalhem and the Audubon Society. She was also a retired nurse at Florence Crittenton Services.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the First Baptist Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Alvin E. Elliott officiating. Burial will take place in Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville, Ark., which is where her husband is interred.

RAPID CITY - Raymond White Dress, 56, Rapid City, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include one sister, Evelyn White Dress, Rapid City, and one brother, Clement Bissonette, Denver.
Wake services will begin at 4 p.m. today at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Rapid City, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the church, with the Rev. Paul Sneve officiating.
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at St. Barnabas Cemetery in Kyle.

CUSTER - Beryl Dvorak, 90, Custer, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Custer Community Hospital.

Cleator Chase
SUNDANCE, Wyo. -- Cleator Chase, 88, Sundance, died Dec. 31, 2001, at the Fort Meade Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sturgis.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Chase, Sundance; two daughters, Mary Steinbrecher, Sundance, and Leona Perry, Beaver, Ore.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Fidler Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Gladys Larson
VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- Gladys Larson, 95, Valley City, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne B. Larson, Volcano, Calif., DeLyle L. Larson, Heron, Mont., and Daryl J. Larson, Valley City; one brother, Merle Lunning, Rapid City, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Larson.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel in Valley City, and one hour before services at the church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Assembly of God Church in Detroit Lakes, Minn., with the Rev. Kurt Jacobson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
Robert G. Longfellow
TORRINGTON, Wyo. -- Robert G. Longfellow, 70, Torrington, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, Torrington; one daughter, Lori Archie, Torrington; one sister, Lois Pierce, Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Memorials may be made to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
Vera Mary Sabow
RAPID CITY -- Vera Mary Sabow, 88, Rapid City, died at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002.
Vera lived most of her life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a longtime member of St. Philomena's Parish in Pittsburgh and for the past 10 years had been a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, S.D.
She was the only child of Ferdinand and Mary (Szabo) Fullaytar. She attended Mt. Mercy Academy in Pittsburgh and St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana.
She was the devoted wife of L. Thomas Sabow, MD and beloved mother of Thomas, James and Dr. J. David Sabow and their wives and the adored grandmother of eight grandchildren.
Vera was a grand lady who lived life to its fullest.
Christian Wake Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with Msgr. Michael Woster as the celebrant and Msgr. William O'Connell as a Con-celebrant.
Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pa., at a later date.
A memorial has been established to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.
Rosina Sleeping Bear Simpson
RAPID CITY -- Rosina Sleeping Bear Simpson, 59, Aurora, Colo., and formerly of Rapid City, died Dec. 25, 2001, at Aurora Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, William Simpson, Aurora; six sons, Mikkel Simpson, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, and William Simpson Jr., Joymoiund Simpson, Kasey Surrounded, Konvoy Surrounded and Kelly Surrounded, all of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Kathy Hoffman, Denver; and one sister, Fannie Logan, Denver.
Wake services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Mother Butler Center in Rapid City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Mother Butler Center, with the Rev. Carl Douglas officiating, and traditional services by Mr. Jimmy Walker. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

RAPID CITY - Roy F. Avery, 85, Rapid City, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Avery, Rapid City; one son, Gaylord Ralph Avery, Rapid City; one daughter, Doris Link, Rapid City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Local arrangements are under the direction of Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
Milford H. Braden
STURGIS - Milford H. Braden, 92, Sturgis, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at Sturgis Community Long Term Care Center.
Survivors include one son, Millard Braden, Sturgis; one daughter, Marianne Gregerick, Lady Lake, Fla.; one sister, Florence Michaelsen, Santa Barbara, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Private family interment services will be held at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Caryl Ann Rounds Ellis
PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Caryl Ann Rounds Ellis, 66, of Prescott, passed away December 28, 2001, at her home.
She was born June 22, 1935, to C.W. and Dorothy Rounds in Rapid City, South Dakota. She grew up and graduated from high school in Rapid City. She married Glenn Ellis on September 2, 1957. Caryl furthered her education with degrees from Northern Colorado Teachers College, Black Hills State Teachers College and a graduate degree from the University of Arizona.
Caryl lived and taught school in Winner, S.D., until moving to Prescott, Ariz., in 1973 with her family. She was the elementary librarian for Prescott Public Schools until retirement in 1995. Retirement was spent traveling with Glenn to visit family, friends and new places.
Caryl is survived by her husband, Glenn, sons, Brad of Spearfish, S.D., Rodney of Prescott, Ariz., Scott and wife Donna of New River, Ariz., and five grandchildren; brother Chuck Rounds; sisters Dorothy Peck, and Marjorie Smartt, all of Rapid City, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jean Estenson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. January 2, 2002, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St., Prescott AZ 86303.

BELLE FOURCHE - Zeta C. Helmer, 92, Belle Fourche, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Crook County Long Term Care Center in Sundance, Wyo.
Survivors include one son, Ed Helmer, Belle Fourche; one brother, Frank Willson, Whitewood; one sister, Vera Halberg, Shevland, Minn.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and one hour before services at the church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Belle Fourche United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating. Burial will be at Pine Slope Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Crook County Long Term Care Center.

TIMBER LAKE - Eugene Frank "Ole" Hulm, 76, Timber Lake, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center in Rapid City.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (CST) today at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge, and one hour before services at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. (MST) Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake, with the Rev. Andrzej Wyrostek officiating. Burial will be at Timber Lake Cemetery.

SELBY - Marlo Kuehl, 72, Selby, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Nora Kuehl, Selby; and one brother, Norman Kuehl, Hot Springs.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, at St. John Lutheran Church in Selby, and for one hour before services on Wednesday. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the church, with the Rev. Dale Hamre officiating. Burial will be at Selby Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Roselyn Little Bear, Wounded Knee; four sons, Dallas Little Bear Jr., Glen Little Bear and Wayne Little Bear, all of Wounded Knee, and Tim Romero, Rapid City; four daughters, Mary Palmier, Sharon Condon, Sheryl Yellow Shield and Erma Yellow Shield, all of Wounded Knee; his mother, Julia Lone Elk, Wounded Knee; two sisters, Vera Little Bear and Phyllis Hollow Horn, both of Wounded Knee; two brothers, Paul Little Bear-Taylor, Wounded Knee, and Earl Tall, Manderson; 27 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Two-night wake services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Messiah Episcopal Church Hall in Wounded Knee. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Messiah Episcopal Church Hall, with the Rev. Cordelia Red Owl and Mr. John Around Him officiating. Burial will be at Messiah Episcopal Cemetery.

AGAR - G. Warren Lytle, 79, Agar, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Oahe Manor Nursing Home in Gettysburg.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred Lytle; two sisters, Arla Smith and Cherryl Schreiber; four children, Cindy Bruce, Spearfish, Donald Lytle, rural Hot Springs, William Lytle, The Dalles, Ore., and Stacy Steffen, West Sully County; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be one hour before services, which will be at 10 a.m. Thurs. Jan. 3, at Agar Methodist Church.
