Aarron Timotheus Fish, age 16, of Rockvale passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, as a result of a traffic accident. He was a native of Bedford County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tina Marie Jo Ross.
He is survived by his father, Robert Fish of Rockvale; his brother, Matthan Fish of Rockvale; his grandmother, Clara Gulyas of Murfreesboro; his loving family of Rutherford County; his uncle, Tom Fish, his aunts, Kathryn Gulyas and Christian Gulyas; and cousin, Jennifer Fish.

Dorothy "Dot" Ezell Johns, age 94, of Eagleville, died peacefully Friday, June 29, 2007 at the home of her son in Nashville following an extended illness. Mrs. Johns was a native of Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Jeptha and Clara Haley Ezell. She was a member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church and was very active in the Eagleville Community. Mrs. Johns was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Edward Johns Sr. who died in 1979, and by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Gooch.
She is survived by a son, Horace Edward Johns, Jr. and wife, Carol of Nashville; four grandchildren, Andy Johns, Lacy Johns, Charlie Johns and Loren Johns, all of Nashville.

Kathryn Gray Harville, age 78 of Chapel Hill, died Monday, June 25, 2007. A resident of Union County, Miss., Mrs. Harville was a daughter of the late William S. and Velma McDonald Gray. She was a homemaker and a member of Triune Baptist Church.
Survived by her husband, J.C. Harville of Chapel Hill; 3 daughters, Diane Rushing and Lynn Priest of Chapel Hill and Beverly Sebrider of Petersburg; a son, Cliff Harville of College Grove; 3 sisters, Alcyone Reed of North Little Rock, Ark., Eleanor Fleming of Ripley, Miss., and Sammye Pearcy of Smyrna; 2 brothers, Joe Gray of Columbus, Miss., and Donald Gray of North Little Rock, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Nannie Sue Ragsdale, age 74, of College Grove, died June 18, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ragsdale.
She is survived by companion, Jackie Beard; sons, Jack Beard, Calvin Ragsdale, Albert Ragsdale, Kenneth Ragsdale and William Ragsdale all of Franklin; daughters, Brenda Butler, Jane Sullivan and Debbie Jennette all of Franklin; sister, Ethel Mary King of the Kingfield Community; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Roy Howard Mangrum, age 92, of Franklin, died June 16, 2007. He was preceded in death by parents, Coley & Jennie Minerva Givens Mangrum and wife, Sarah Roberta Mangrum.
He is survived by sons, Kenneth (Polly) Mangrum of College Grove, Tandy D. (Louise) Mangrum of Franklin, and Nelson D. (Phyllis) Mangrum of College Grove; daughter, Sheila Ann (Thomas) Wilson of Plattsburg, N.Y.; brother, Delmar M. Mangrum of Hillsboro community; sisters, Estelle Inman of Fernvale, Jeanettie Taylor of Fairview and Frances Hillin of Brentwood; grandchildren, Terrie, Ken & Tammy Mangrum, Amy Sandlin, Heather Rudolph and Jennifer Wilson; and great grandchildren, Arielle and J. T. Rudolph and Seth, Adam & Michaia Mangrum.

Betty Raney Haynes, age 70, of the Cedar Grove Community, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Haynes was a native of Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late George Lester and Emma Zumbro Raney. She was a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School, Class of 1956, and was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Unionville. In 2005, Mrs. Haynes retired from the Bedford County School System after 26 years of service. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bailey Raney and a grandson, Travis Lee Haynes.
Mrs. Haynes is survived by her husband of 50 years, James P. "Jimmy" Haynes, Cedar Grove Community; daughter, Vera Elizabeth "Beth" Haynes Spence, Shelbyville; three sons, James Christopher "Chris" (Susan) Haynes, Unionville, David Timothy "Tim" (Lynn Robbie) Haynes, Chapel Hill, Richard Andrew "Andy" (Susan) Haynes, Unionville; two sisters, Aileen (Howard) Cooper, Shelbyville, Nancy Beech, Shelbyville; brother, Clarence "Pete" Raney, Murfreesboro; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Terry Vaughn, age 57, of LaVergne died Thursday, June 7, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Vaughn; children, Mark Vaughn of Eagleville, Tracy (Lori) Vaughn of Smyrna and Melissa Burba of Bradyville; mother, Luther Marie Vaughn and sister, Jennifer Marie Vaughn, both of Antioch; brother, Gregory Lynn Vaughn of Hendersonville; father-in-law, John C. Smith; and grandchildren, Chasity and Ashley Farris, Heather Gardner, Hunter Crook and Hazel Marie Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Vaughn. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was retired from Roadway Trucking Lines.

Nora Ralston Carothers Puckett, age 88, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, June 2, 2007. Mrs. Puckett was a native of Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late David Edward and Carmen Morgan Ralston. She was a homemaker and had retired from Cosmolab, Inc. of Lewisburg. Mrs. Puckett was a member of the Rover Baptist Church and previously, was a member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church in Eagleville. She was preceded in death by her first hushand, Thomas Carothers who died in 1975 and by her second husband, Russell Puckett who died in 2004. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Lemmons Claxton.
Mrs. Puckett is survived by daughter, Betsy Shelton of Lewisburg; two sisters, Betty Beech of Lewisburg and Josephine Farris of Shelbyville; four grandchildren; and long-time caregiver, Brenda Hooks of Murfreesboro.

Mark Terry Burdick, age 34, of Murfreesboro died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Yellowstone County, Montana, from injuries sustained in a helicopter accident.
Mr. Burdick was born in Friendship, N.Y. and was a son of Harold Terry Burdick of Bradford, Pa. and Brenda June Love Burdick of Eagleville. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a foreman lineman for Haverfield Corporation, Electric Air Team Division, Gettysburg, Pa. Other survivors include a son, Braden Burdick of Murfreesboro; sisters Amy Freeman of Crossett, Arkansas and Ange Pursley of Gordonsville; and brother Troy Burdick of Graham, Florida.

Myra Helen Purvis Murrah, age 72, of Unionville, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at University Medical Center in Lebanon. Mrs. Murrah was the daughter of the late Ernest Grady and Martha Vernon Stem Purvis. She was a member of the Unionville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Marie Murrah who died in 1964 who died in 1964 and a son, Daryle Lee Murrah who died in 2001.
Survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim C. Murrah of Unionville; a daughter, Melanie (Kevin) Phelps of Bell Buckle; a brother, Robert E. Purvis of Barnesville, Georgia; a grandson, Evan Phelps of Bell Buckle.

Marie Hudson Travis, age 89, of Murfreesboro passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, she was a homemaker and member of Oakland Baptist Church.
Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gilbert Travis; and her parents, Leonard M. and Addie Ross McClendon Hudson. She is survived by sons Franklin D. Travis of Murfreesboro and Leonard L. (Nancy ) Travis of Shelbyville; grandchildren Leonard Larry Travis of Winchester, Vickie Travis of Unionville, Susan Marie Jones, Donna Louise Sanford and Lori Denise Clanton, all of Shelbyville, and Nancy Nicole Waterson of Unionville; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He is survived by wife, Vickie Harper of the Bethesda Community; sons, Johnathon David and Jordan Dane Harper of the Bethesda Community; father, William "Mann" (Jean) Harper Sr. of the Peytonsville Community; mother, Ronelda Crafton of the Bethesda Community; sisters, Debra Harper and Teresa Smithson both of the Peytonsville Community; half sister, Melanie Glenn of the Bethesda Community; half brothers, Roger Dale Harper, William Sidney "Rudder" Harper Jr. and Travis Lamaur Harper all of the Peytonsville Community; grandparents, Elbert Crafton and Milton Crafton both of the Bethesda Community; grandchild, Kylee Jo Amaria Harper; mother-in-law, Betty Green of Franklin; many other loving family members.

Patricia Ann Snoddy, age 57, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at her residence. Born in Nashville, she was a 1969 graduate of the Tennessee Preparatory School in Nashville. Ms. Snoddy was a resident of Bell Buckle and worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart on Old Fort Parkway. She was also a member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.
She is survived by her family, Hugh T. Snoddy of Gladeville, TN, Hugh D. Snoddy of Bell Buckle, Charles A. (Misty) Snoddy of Murfreesboro, Timothy A. Snoddy of Murfreesboro, Belinda L. (Bradley) Slipher of Knoxville, Martha Rogers of Smyrna, Gary and Norma Snoddy of Leipers Fork, and 8 grandchildren.

Ruth Lemmon Carlton, age 87, of the Rover community of Bedford County died Monday, April 30, 2007. Mrs. Carlton was a native of Bedford County and was the retired owner of Versailles Grocery in the Versailles community of Rutherford County. After her retirement, Mrs. Carlton worked as a caregiver for many years. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for more than 50 years where she was still teaching the Young Adult Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Carlton was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Carlton; son James Robert Carlton Jr.; sister Lula Austin; brothers R.C. Lemmon and John Lemmon; and grandson Phillip Ralston.
Mrs. Carlton is survived by two daughters, Mary Alene (Jimmy) Lambert of Unionville and Alice Faye (Harold) Ralston of Rockvale; sister Velma Jane Hammond of Braeshear, Texas; two brothers, Robert Lemmon of Shelbyville and Roy Lee Lemmon of Memphis; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
