Almond Roberts
Almond Dewey Roberts of Chickamauga died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was 85.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Jordan Roberts, three daughters, Marjorie Terc, Chattanooga, Corky Woodham, Nashville, and Gloria Tucker, Birmingham; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home with the Rev. C.W. Turner officiating.
Burial will be in Chickamauga cemetery.
Nancy Smith
Nancy R. Smith died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at her home. She was 63.
She was a member of Falling Water Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Smith; two sons, Aaron Lee Smith, Nashville, and James Roger Smith, Chattanooga; two brothers, Ken P. Roper, Soddy-Daisy and Fred Sherman Roper, Chattanooga; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Russell officiating.
James Thomas
James Matthew Thomas died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at his home. He was 63.
Services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Adams and the Rev. William H. Ryan officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Jack Towery
Jack F. Towery of Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, of injuries from an automobile accident. He was 25.
He was a graduate of Harper Creek High School and worked in construction as a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Towery, Soddy-Daisy; three daughters, Kristin RaNae Towery, Soddy-Daisy, Taylor Nicole Towery Crandall, and Britni Bristol Lace Potter, both of Battle Creek, Mich.; one son, Izaak Paul Towery, South Bend, Ind.; his mother and stepfather, Linda and David Bailey, Battle Creek; his father and stepmother, Terry and Sandra Towery, Battle Creek; two sisters, Watoosa Guy and Shacoda Dillard, both of Battle Creek; and grandmothers, Jessie White, Battle Creek and Mary Towery, Bellevue.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Estes and Dowdle Funeral Home in Battle Creek.

Esther Werner
Esther H. Werner died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at her home.
She was a native of Milwaukee and had been a Chattanooga resident for many years.
She was employed with Sears for many years and attended Grace Baptist Church.
She was a music teacher with the Chicago Public Schools and was a member of Moody Memorial Church in Chicago.
She was the wife of the late Oscar R. Werner.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Werner, Waukegan, Ill., and Paul Werner, Uniontown, Pa.; one daughter, Carol West, Chattanooga; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Harris Steurmer officiating.
Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. CST in Elmlawn cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Bible Donation.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Thomas Woods
Thomas DeJuan Woods Jr. died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in an Oklahoma City, Okla., hospital. he was 38.

Jeanne Allison
Jeanne R. Allison, who was active in cultural and civic organizations in Chattanooga all of her life, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999. She was 75.
A memorial service will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, with the Rev. Perry Scruggs officiating.
Burial will be in the Harriett Caldwell Memorial Garden.
Margaret Arnold
Margaret Arnold died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 67.
She was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Laura Bonds; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church with pastor Robert L. Allen officiating.
The body will be at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home after noon Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elizabeth Boullion
Elizabeth Keebler Boullion of Signal Mountain, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 91.
She was a member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church and was the widow of George M. Boullion.
Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial cemetery in Knoxville, with the Rev. Ernest Condee officiating.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 2:30 a.m. at Alexian Village on Signal Mountain.
Arrangements are by Gentry-Griffey Chapel, Knoxville.
Larry Bradford
Larry Bradford Sr. died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 46.
He was a member of Wildwood Church of God of Prophecy in Cleveland, Tenn., and was employed by U.S. Pipe & Foundry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Spence Bradford, a brother, O'Neal Bradford; and two sisters, Melva Isom and Inez Bowerman.
Survivors include his wife, Thois Bradford, Chattanooga; two daughters, Tonya Smith, Smyrna, Ga., and Stephanie Harris, Chattanooga; one son, Larry Paul Bradford Jr., Chattanooga; three sisters, Betty Harmon, Virginia Beach, Va., Theda Mosley, Cleveland, and Betty Burton, Ringgold, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the New Anointing Pure Holiness Church of God with Elder Wilbur Tigner and Bishop A.D. Ringer officiating.
Burial will be in Highland cemetery.

Billie Ann Wolgamott Carson of Belton, S.C., formerly of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C. She was 81.

Burial will be in McDonald cemetery in Ooltewah, Tenn.

Fountain, Chattanooga; five sisters, Alice Gerald, Patterson, N.J., Louise Daniels, Englewood, N.J., Redelia Derringer, Bergenfield, N.J., Joyce Ingram, Providence, R.I., and Rena Mae Ross, Detroit; four brothers, Elijah Ross and Essu Ross, Englewood and David and Ezekiel Ross; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at noon at Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Hampton officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.
