Melissa Diane Parker
Melissa Diane Parker, 36, of Ashland City, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was an employee of Triton Boats in Ashland City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burdel and Francis Raker.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Parker Sr. of Ashland City; two sons, Richard Parker Jr. and Chad Parker, both of Ashland City; two daughters, Megan Parker and Amber Parker, both of Ashland city; and two sisters, Michelle Mundy and Misty Patterson, both of Florida.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Billy Jameson officiating. Burial followed at the Felts cemetery in Ashland City. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hattie Medlin Thornton
Mrs. Hattie Medlin Thornton, 89, of the New Salem Community of Jackson County, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Salem Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cordell Thornton on May 2, 1967; her parents, Walter Medlin and Rhoda Elizabeth Flatt Medlin; one son: Charles Thornton; one daughter, Burnetta Elizabeth Thornton; two brothers, Verble Medlin and Vestal Medlin; one sister: Lyda Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Medlin and Christine Medlin and one grandson: Phillip Wayne Burris.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Ann and Charles Collier of Gainesboro, Clella and Kenneth Heady of Gainesboro and Linda and John Sparks of Ashland City; two brothers and sister-in-law: Morgan and Evelyn Medlin of Cookeville and Carl and Ruth Medlin of Oneida, Calif., three sisters and one brother-in-law: Maggie Flatt of Sparta, Beulah Flatt of Bloomington Springs and Vola and Albert Roberts of Lenoir City; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Inc. with Bro. Morgan Medlin and Johnny Sparks officiating. Burial was at Sam Flatt cemetery on the Shepardsville Road in Jackson County.
Anderson Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
Claire Stratton CARUS
Claire Stratton Carus, daughter of Gloria and Richard Carus Sr., departed this live on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Wilmington, N.C.
In addition to parents, Claire Carus is survived by two brothers, Richard Vaughn Carus Jr. and wife Karen of Newnan, Ga., and Franklin S. Carus and wife Katrina of Brownfield, Maine, a sister Katie Carus Ryan of Wilmington, N.C. and 11 nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind many friends, co-workers, and students who blessed her life. She was blessed by God in order to be a blessing to others and that she was.
Born in Nashville on Nov. 10, 1955, her early days were spent in Birmingham, Ala., where she attended Charlanne-Elyton School and was Spastic Aid of Alabama Theme Child in 1961. Her family moved to Decatur, Ga., in 1962 where she attended the Cerebral Palsy Center. She received a GED while she and her family lived in Allison Park, Penn.
Residing in Wilmington since 1989, she worked part-time from 1994-2000 at United Cerebral Palsy's Copymatic. She worked part-time at Friend's School of Wilmington from 2001 until recently. She was a member of Windermere Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Windermere Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Roland Banks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, N.C. 28401.
Andrews Mortuary Market Street, Wilmington, N.C., assisted the family with the funeral arrangements.
Mary Frances CLEMMONS
Mary Frances Clemmons, 80, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005. She was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Lebanon, and was retired from BellSouth in Lebanon with 32 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evans and Carrie Clemmons; three brothers, David, Daniel and Claude (Bootie) Clemmons; two sisters, Sarah Clemmons and Pauline Gray.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Norred of Appalachiacola, Fla.; nieces, Gwendolyn Lannom of Ashland City, Beth (Ricky) Fletcher of Lebanon, Paula (Johnny) Melton of Ashland City; nephews, Ronald (Sandy) Clemmons of Murfreesboro, Lance (Amy) Lannom of Joelton; and several other nieces and nephews.
Private graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Cedar Grove cemetery in Lebanon with Brother Marshal Gupton officiating. Visitation with the family was Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Cheatham County Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice or the charity of your choice.

Mary Elizabeth ELLIS
Mary Elizabeth "Pip" Ellis, 71, of Pleasant View, died March 27, 2005.
She was preceded in death by husband, James Ellis; parents, Jesse and Lillie Biggers; sisters, Louise Butler; Margaret Myers and Delores Alford.
She is survived by daughter, Kathy (Joe) Munson; sons, Tommy (Kelly) Ellis and Roger Ellis; grandchildren, Bart (Tammy) Anderson, Chad Anderson, Kyle Ellis and Cage Ellis; three great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Don) Fields; brother, James (Dot) Biggers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton, with Bro. Frank Bunner, Bro. Vernon Barker and Bro. Bart Anderson officiating. Pallbearers: Kyle Ellis, Mark Alford, Bart Anderson, Reggie Claud, Chad Anderson and Wendell Earl Myers. Interment

Letha Ann Finley, 59, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005. She was an employee of Eaton Corporation for 26 years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Yorkville, where she was a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Finley of Yorkville; parents R.E. and Lottie Pierce Brown of Newbern; daughter, Christy Fletcher of Yorkville; sons, Cody Finley of Ashland City, and Russ Finley of Newbern; grandchildren, Austin Fletcher of Yorkville and Sydney Finley of Newbern.
Services were conducted Saturday, March 26, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Yorkville with Rev. Billy Criswell officiating. Burial was in Yorkville cemetery, Yorkville. Pallbearers were Franklin Pope, Dustin Hollis, David Scott, Butch Ladd, Gene Allmon, Justin Pope, Jack Gregory and Bill Moore. Those desiring, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.

Ruby L. Hayes, 73, of Pleasant View passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005.
She is survived by husband, Orville Hayes; daughter, Linda Hatter, two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; four sisters, three brothers.
Services will be held at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, with Bro. Larry Dunlap and Bro. John Box officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2005, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Family will serve as pallbearers. Interment: Hermitage Memorial Gardens, Hermitage.

Jackie Allen Miles, 45, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Centennial Medical Center in Ashland City.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Miles of Chapmansboro; father, Glen Edward (Nelda) Miles of Ashland City; daughters, Yeolanda (Kelly) Stafford of Ashland City, Natalie Miles of Oak Ridge; brother, Danny Miles of Knoxville and sister, Sherry (Eddie) Nance of Oak Ridge and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viona Bobbie McGhee Miles.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home with Bart Pemberton officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Interment
followed in the Bethlehem cemetery in Ashland City.

Katherine T. ALLEN
Katherine T. Allen, 79, of Ashland City, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence T. Allen; her daughters, Sandra Austin and Rhonda Boutwell.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Valerie Austin and Jonathan Boutwell. A graveside service was conducted Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery in Pegram with Brother Terry Bear officiating.
Family and friends served as her pallbearers. Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Jackie Ray CRUM
Jackie Ray Crum, 67, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005. He was the youngest of 10 children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Crum and grandson, Johnny Ray Holloway.
He is survived by his daughters, Alice Hamilton of Murfreesboro and Jeanine Holloway of Smyrna and future son-in-law James Bellman of Smyrna; loving grandchildren, Stephanie Hamilton, Michael Holloway, David Holloway, Jessie Hamilton and Kayla Holloway.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 29, 2005, at 6 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Marshal Gupton officiating. Burial was private.
