TRESSY WAGNER

Tressy Wagner, 92, of McLewis Community died Aug. 19, 2000 at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with burial at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange. Visitation was from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A native of Crowley, La., she lived in the McLewis Community 60 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons, Edward Wagner, Emmett Wagner, Ray Wagner and William Wagner, all of McLewis; daughters, Mary LeBouef, Wanda Barnes and Joyce Wagner, all of McLewis and Geraldine Brevell of Mauriceville; sisters, Odelia Little of Hackberrry, La., and Olivia Delome of McLewis; 24 grandchildren;and 24 great-grandchildren.

H.B. BEECHUM

H.B. Beechum, 70, of Silsbee died Aug. 9, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at New Bethel Baptist Church with burial at Kirby Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Proctor’s Mortuary in Silsbee.

A native of De Berry, he lived in Silsbee many years and was a retired laborer with Louisiana Pacific.

Survivors include his wife, Othelene Thomas Beechum of Silsbee; daughters, Tammy Smith of Houston, Anther Gail Davis of Amityville, N.Y., and Sebrina Tyson of Silsbee; brothers, Hayward Beechum and Raymond Beechum, both of De Berry; sisters, Cecil Jackson of Greenwood, La., Ila Faye Mitchell of Fort Worth, Phyllis Ware of Banning, Calif., Rosie Lee Beechum of De Berry, Nelvin Washington and Ethel Jean Stegall, both of Dallas and Lois Shaw of Shreveport, La.; and five grandchildren.

JAMES O. ‘JIM’ BELCHER

James O. "Jim" Belcher, 75, of Liberty died Aug. 13, 2000 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty with burial at Worthy Cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Daisetta and former resident of California and Washington, he lived in the Liberty area most of his life and was the owner/operator of his own surveying company, a professional land surveyor and served on the Board of the Texas State Professional Land Surveyors, He was Liberty County Surveyor and served with the Texas Highway Department and on the Liberty City Council. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Belcher of Liberty; son, Don Stephen Belcher of Liberty; daughter, Paula Wiggins Coleman of Hardin; sister, Martha Belcher Montgomery of Wesson, Miss.; and Bertha Redman Orebo of Liberty.

BETTY SUE BROWN

Betty Sue Brown, 72, of Woodville died Aug. 13, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hilltop Baptist Church in Dam B with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery near Colmesneil under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Tyler County, she lived in Woodville several years and was a retired licensed vocational nurse for Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include sons, James Brown of Jasper and Curtis Brown of Dam B; daughter, Linda Corley of Jasper; brothers, Jess Mashaw of Angleton and J.W. Mashaw of Jasper; sister, Bernice Briggs of Dam B; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

HAROLD CARR

Harold Carr, 84, of West Orange died Aug. 13, 2000 at his residence.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with a Masonic graveside service at Harris Cemetery in West Orange. Visitation was Monday at the funeral home.

A lifelong resident of West Orange, he was owner and operator of Super Cleaners in Orange, and had worked at Levingston Shipbuilding and Firestone Chemical Co.

Survivors include his wife, Lettie Carr of West Orange; son, Harold "Butch" Carr of Irving; daughter, Patricia Earl of Elizabeth, La.; sister, Fannie Siau of West Orange; brother, Jeff Carr of Angleton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

RICHARD CASTRO

Richard Castro, 37, of Beaumont died Aug. 12, 2000 in Beaumont.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption Mausoleum Chapel with burial at Assumption Cemetery under the direction of All Faiths Funeral Service in Austin. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in San Marcos

He was formerly a resident of San Marcos.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie Castro; parents, Ricardo and Eva Leal; sons, Brandon Castro, Nathan Castro, Travis Castro; brother, Roland Leal; and sister, Eliza Ortega.

AGNES HIDALGO DESORMEAUX

Agnes Hidalgo Desormeaux, 81, of Port Arthur died Aug. 13, 2000 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today the funeral home.

A native of Youngsville, La., she lived in Port Arthur 58 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Jugovats of Port Neches; son, Donald Desormeaux of Country Club Park Estates; and brother, Willis "Bill" Hidalgo of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

J.C. FISHER

J.C. Fisher, 80, of West Orange died Aug. 13, 2000 at Oakwood Manor in Vidor.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cove Baptist Church in Orange with a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Robeline, La., and longtime resident of the Orange area, he was a retired DuPont Sabine River Works operator and a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Survivors include his son, Larry Fisher of Orange; sisters, Ruby Campbell and Bertie Grimes, both of Vidor; and grandchildren, Eric Fisher and Haylee Fisher, both of Orange.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cove Baptist Church, 1005 DuPont Drive, Orange, Texas 77630.

MARION PINCHBECK FULTON

Marion Pinchbeck Fulton, 94, of Beaumont died Aug. 12, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the church.

A native of Coatsville, Pa., she lived in Beaumont many years.

Survivors include her son, George R. Fulton Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; daughter, Peg Towers of Beaumont; grandchildren, Mary Jane Nogay of Beaumont and James Preston Towers of Newark, Del.; and great-granddaughter, Mary "Meg" Nogay of Beaumont.

WILLIAM CLAY GARRETT

William Clay Garrett, 74, of Beaumont died July 7, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital

Cremation was held July 18 at Haven of Rest Crematory under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home on Gladys Street.

A native of Beaumont, he was a retired Merchant Seaman.

Survivors include his sister, Geraldine Lowe of Crowley; and nephews and nieces.

GUSSIE MAE JOHNSON

Gussie Mae Johnson, 88, of Beaumont died Aug. 14, 2000 at her residence.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with burial at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Falkville, Ala., she lived in Beaumont 35 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Sue Grevemberg of Beaumont and Patricia Ann Luckey of Silsbee; sons, Billy Glenn Ballard of Brownsville, Jerry Don Ballard of Lovelady, James Thomas Ballard and Bennie Lee Ballard, both of Beaumont; 26 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

LAURA McGLAUN

Laura McGlaun, 84, of Orange died Aug. 13, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with cremation handled by Wilbert Crematory in Beaumont.

A native of Cherokee County, Al., she lived in Orange 30 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Philip J. Comer of Orange and Kenneth Comer of Arley, Ala.; daughter, Kathleen Thomas of Dothan, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

BILLIE COOLEY PARRIS

Billie Cooley Parris, 70, of DeRidder, La., died Aug. 14, 2000 in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Church in DeRidder with burial at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 2 to 10 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.

A native of Fisher, La., and former resident of Many, Ft. Jesup, she lived DeRidder for 31 years and Stone Mountain, Ga., for 26 years, and was the owner and operator of Cinderella Beauty Shop in DeRidder.

Survivors include her sons, Ronnie Cooley and Kenneth "Thumper" Cooley, both of DeRidder; daughter, Sharon Cooley Sandlin of DeRidder; brother, Freddie Forrest of Port Neches; and sisters, Doris McClure of Longview and Barbara Faye LaCombe of Lake Arthur, La.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

R.T. POTTS SR.

R.T. Potts Sr., 81, of Port Arthur died Aug. 13, 2000 at his residence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

A native of Shelbyville, he lived in Port Arthur 56 years and was a retired seaman for Texaco Marine.

Survivors include sons, Weldon Potts of Orange and R.T. Potts Jr. of LaPorte; daughters, Dorothy Winfree of Orange, and Helen Benoite and Nancy Patterson, both of Vidor; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

RAY M. BERNSEN ROBERTS

Ray M. Bernsen Roberts, 81, of Beaumont died Aug. 13, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Cathedral with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Santa Rita, N.M., she lived in Beaumont one year and was a retired teacher.

Survivors include her sister, Caroline M. Bernsen of Beaumont; and brother, James M. Bernsen of Boise, Idaho.
