Guillory

Leroy Guillory, Sr., was born on November 17, 1923, to the union of the late, Corrine and Willie Guillory, both of Mallet, LA.

He was the fifth of nine children. God called him home on May 12, 2013, where there would be no more pain and suffering.

Throughout his life, Leroy was a loving husband and a hard worker. When he was younger, he enjoyed barbecuing on the weekends and having a few cold beers. He would sometimes enjoy mowing the lawn on the riding lawnmower and he would play dominoes with friends and family. Back in the day, he like watching the news. He enjoyed being home and with family, that was always his favorite place.

He was joined in matrimony to Rose Semien on November 3, 1946 and to this union nine children were born.

He is preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers; one son, Clayton Guillory; son-in-law, Rogers M. Guillory; three grandson, Gurvis G. Jr., Matthew Waldon G., and Nathan G.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of sixty-six years, Rose; six sons and three daughters: LeeRoy Guillory, Jr. (Gertrude), Gertie G., Shirley David (Jesse), Joseph, Beatrice G. (Gurvis), Donald Ray G., Walter G., and Waldon G. (Dianna); twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Viewing will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Wells Funeral Services Chapel from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services at 10:30 a.m. on May 18, 2013.Lie in state at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Ames, Texas at 8:00 a.m.-9:45 a.m., Rosary at 9:45 a.m. Interment in Ames Catholic cemetery.

Services entrusted to Wells Funeral Services, 300 Alabama St, Liberty, Texas.

Zarsky

Norma Ruth Stanfield Zarsky, 80, of Dayton died Thursday, May 16, 2013 in Humble, Texas.

She was born September 22, 1932 in Ace, Texas to parents: Edward Howard Stanfield and Maudie Walker Stanfield. She was a long time resident of Dayton where she enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. Mrs. Zarsky loved her family and cooking for them.

Service for Mrs. Zarsky will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with Rev. Jeff Day officiating. Interment to follow at Magnolia Park cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday before the service.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband of 41 years Henry L. Zarsky, daughter-in-law, Melinda Gajdosik Zarsky, sister, Doris Smesny, brothers, E.H. Stanfield, Jr. and Charles Stanfield. She is survived by her sons: John Zarsky and wife Cindy of Dayton, and Donnie Zarsky of Crosby; her daughter: Dorothy Fancett and husband Gerald of Friendswood; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Patsy Wood of Amarillo, Sybil Casteel of Jacksonville, Sue Carey of Millican, and Alma Yoakum of Bryan; brother: Bob Stanfield and wife Frieda of Spring; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Fredrickson

Patricia Ann Fredrickson, 66, of Saratoga, died Thursday May 16, 2013 at her home.

A native of Saratoga she had lived in Saratoga most o her life and was an homemaker. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Batson. She was preceded in death by her sisters JoAnn Morse, Mary Lou Campbell, Midred Norris. Brother J.B. Jordan. Survivors are Jay Frederickson and wife Candy of Thicket, stepson; Eric Coon and wife Angie of Louisiana. Daughter Crystal Blanchard and husband Morgan of Saratoga, dearest friend Linda Tassler of Colorado. SistersOphelia King and husband Jimmy of Port Neches and Ruby Alpers of Cleveland. Grandchildren Noah, Mackenzie, Landon, Riley, Tara, and Gloria. In request for the family they asked that no big flower Sprays be sent, potted plants would be fine. A memoril service will be held Tuesday May 21, 2013 . A memorial service will be held Tuesday May 21, 2013 at the United Methodist church of Batson. Cremation handled under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson.

Hughes

Walter David Hughes, 67, of Beaumont, Texas died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Liberty Health Care with his family by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Walter was a grade 2 driver and EMT for 30 years with the Beaumont Fire Department. He enjoyed being with his family, cooking, gardening, and war movies.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 1:00 pm, in the Chapel of Allison Funeral Service.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents; Nadine and Walter Hughes, brother; Donald Hughes, and sisters; Patricia Wilkins and Darlene Craighead.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Wanda Hughes, son; Clinton Hughes, daughters; Traci Marlowe, and husband Kirk Jopowicz, and Dena Hughes, granddaughters; Marlene and Helena Marlowe, brother; Tommy Hughes, and wife Brenda, and sisters; Betty Dale, Joyce Owens, and husband Bill.

Gibson

Our dearly beloved Althea died peacefully on Wednesday, 15 May, a native of Kinston, Jamaica and a faithful member and former vestry member of St. James Episcopal Church.

Visitation will be Sunday, 7 – 9pm, at St. James Episcopal Church, 3129 Southmore Blvd. and Funeral Services will be on Monday, viewing from 9am, and services starting at 11am. Interment following at the National cemetery, gate time at 1:15pm.

Wonderful memories of Althea will be cherished by husband, Mark Gibson, and her three children, Christian, Peyton and Mallory, and parents Mark and Patricia Hamilton, and one sister, Lisa Simone, and numerous relatives and friends.

Gregurek

Mary Helen Gregurek, age 82 and a resident of Rye, Texas for 35 years, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home.

She was born in Ashland, Alabama in 1931 to parents Carl Ullmont and Willie Mae Haynes who preceded her in death along with her son Barry Cox; one brother and three sisters.

Mary Helen Gregurek is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years Alvin Roy Gregurek; sons Samuel Garrett Cox III, Russell Cox and wife Barbara; daughters Becky Ward, Patsy Whitney and husband Gary; sister Sandra Kaspell; grandchildren Joey, Kimberly, Nicki, Brian, Nicole, Chris, Amy, Lisa, Brandon, Nathan, and Noel; great-grandchildren Adalynn, Samantha, Colin, and Destiny; numerous nieces, nephews and other treasured family members and faithful friends throughout the years.

Bro. David Stark will preside over funeral services being held Saturday, May 18, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Private family burial will be held later.

Fiedler

Paul Frederick Fiedler, III, 53, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home in Raywood, Texas with his family by his side.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Paul enjoyed gardening and fishing. He held the Texas State Record for growing the largest pumpkin, weighing 711 lbs. He was a truck driver for Shamrock Vacuum in Raywood, Texas.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Guedry cemetery, Friday, May 17, 2013. A gathering of Paul's family and friends will be Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Paul Fiedler, Jr.

Paul is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sheila Ann Fiedler, son; Kody Fiedler and wife Amy, brothers; Mikal Fiedler and wife Blythe, Patrick Fiedler and wife Denise, and granddaughter Madison.

Pallbearers will be Lance Carr, Chris Smart, Ronnie Caldwell, Clifton White, James Fregia, and Doug Leon.

Hart

Jeff Hart 79 of Batson, TX died Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Liberty Dayton Hospital in Liberty.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday May 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Batson with Reverend Daniel Harris and Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow at the Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be recieving friends on Thursday May 16, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at the church. Jeff was born in Batson, Texas on September 5, 1933 to Julius Miles Hart and Johnnie Lea Lambert and had lived in Batson all of his life and was a retired pumper for Texaco in Sour Lake, Texas and was a U.S. Army veteran and also a member of First Baptist Church of Batson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lonnie Hart, nephews Robert Dwain Hart, brother -in- laws Bert Hudspeth and Harold Watkins. Survivors are his wife Francis Hart of Batson, sons; Keith Hart and wife Stacy of Batson, Kevin Hart of Beaumont, son - in-law William Roeling of Hull. Daughter Karen Hart Roeling of Hull, brothers; Curtis Hart, Dwain Hart, and Butch Hart all of Batson. Sisters Betty Watkins, Connie Bennett, and Lorice Hudspeth all of Batson. Grandchildren; Victoria Roeling, Billy Odell Roeling II, Cody Odell Roeling, Aaron Keith Hart.

Serving as pallbearers are Billy O. Roeling II, Butch Hart, Scotty Hart, Jeffery Hart, Butch Wade Hart, and Tommy Bennett. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Hart, Ernie Bennett, Randy Bennett, William O. Roeling, Bates Hobbs, Raymond Hobbs.

Strickland

Melvin Earl Strickland, age 74 and a lifetime resident of Cleveland, Texas, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Kingwood Medical Center.

He was born in Liberty County, Texas on July 04, 1938 to parents Roy Benson and Allie Levonie Strickland who preceded him in death along with his wife Verniece Coleman Strickland; brother Will Averitt Strickland; and sister-in-law Margie Strickland. Earl was a lifelong cattleman and farmer. Friends and neighbors would come far and wide for his 4th of July birthday and Bar-B-Q. He was a loving father, grandfather, and steadfast friend; he will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Survivors include his daughter Theresa Lynn DeWitt and husband Mark K. DeWitt; sons John A. Isaacks and wife Susan Isaacks, Allen David Isaacks; brother Ralph Wendell Strickland; grandchildren Jessica DeWitt Boyd, Jace W. DeWitt, Andrew Isaacks, Zachary Isaacks, and Christian Isaacks; niece Mary Azalea Strickland; nephews Armand Benson Leger, Ralph Wendell Strickland II, Roy C. Strickland; double first cousins Barbara Bazzoon and Billy Strickland; and many friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Jimmy Charles and Bro. Rupert Harrell will preside over funeral services being held Thursday, May 16, 2013, 3:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Ryan cemetery. Pallbearers include Armand Leger, Roy Strickland, Jace DeWitt, Ralph W. Strickland II, Christian Isaacks, Allen Isaacks, and Mark DeWitt; honorary pallbearers include Andy Isaacks, Zachary Isaacks.

Garner

Juanita Elizabeth Garner, 87, of Dayton, Texas died on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at The Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Baytown, Texas.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, May 23, 2013 in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ouida Harper; and brothers William and Walter Harper.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Sheila Sanders and husband Earl; Stepson, John Garner, and wife Darlene; Stepdaughter, Elaine Hunter, and husband James; granddaughters, Kelley Wright, and husband Derek, Kristin Sanders; and a host of other family and friends.

Simmons

Dorothy E. Cox Simmons, 72, of Cleveland, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie, with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Dorothy was born August 13, 1940 in Dayton, to parents; Edward, Jr. and Ruby E. Lee Cox, and has been a lifelong resident of the Cleveland-Dayton area. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1958 and Lee College, a former radiologist, and a former associate with Wal-Mart. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and canning.

Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years: Lloyd W. Simmons, Sr., sons: Richard “Ricky” Fairley and Lloyd W. Simmons, Jr., father: Edward Cox, Jr., mother: Ruby E. Lee Cox, and brother: Clifford L. Cox. She is survived by her son: Clarence Simmons of Forney, daughter: Rory Fairley of Dayton, brother: Richard E. Cox of Dayton, grandchildren: Amber Buras, Elizabeth Ross, Becky Smith, and Amanda Mesick, great-grandchildren: Phoebe Buras, Nicholann Ross, Aleana Ross, Trinity Ross, Chloe Hart, and Jordon Hart, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
