Harris

Ruby Etta Harris, 82, of Baytown, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in San Jacinto Methodist in Baytown. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2011 in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. A gathering of her family and friends was from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday in the funeral Home.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Jewel Thomas Woodward. Ruby was a nurse for many years. Ruby loved being with her family, drinking coke and watching TV. Ruby in her younger years loving dancing to country music.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Pam Hoyos and husband Ed, Linda Bosley and husband Ronnie, Teresa Schwendeman and husband Sam, and Jennifer Harris; brother, John Kirby Woodward; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to donate blood in Ruby’s name.

Cox

Richard Merle Cox, age 66, died suddenly at his home Tuesday June 21, 2011.

He was born in Norfolk, Nebraska December 26, 1944, the son of Merle Duane Cox and Mary Magdalen Muff Cox. Richard enjoyed life, he was outgoing and always quick with joke. Richard could always be found in the morning at Happy Chap with his wife Jerry, enjoying a coffee with friends. He also enjoyed watching Star Trek and all things Sci-fi with his dog Mattie on his lap. Richard worked for over twenty years at Marine Drilling as a Crane Operator and later went on to work for Ryder Integrated as a truck driver.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of twenty-four years Jerry Cox; mother Mary Cox; daughter Lisa Murray husband Ron; sons Martin Cox and Rick Cox wife Darla; brother Jack Cox; step-children Edith Delome husband Robert, Eric Wilfong, Randy Mohn wife Brandy, and Bret Mohn wife Carrie; five grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Monday June 27, 2011 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to take place in Hardin Chapel cemetery.

Boutte

A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis Charles Boutte, 76, of Raywood, Texas will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 12:30 P. M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Raywood, with burial in the Sacred Heart cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty, Texas.

A veteran of the United States Army, he was born in Patterson, Louisiana, the eldest of nine siblings to Louis and Marida Boutte. He worked as a stevedore and later in life earned an Associate Degree in computer science. He died on Monday, June 20, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Boutte is preceded in death by his parents and one son; Joseph Boutte, three sisters and a brother.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifty-five years, Rosie Bell Boutte, of Raywood, one son: Charles Boutte of Pearland, Texas; three daughters: Marida Curry of Houston, Texas, Elizabeth Cuero also of Houston, and Mary Kay Trostmann, of Dallas, Texas, two daughters-in-law: Drina Gonzalez-Boutte and Dr. Needha Boutte Queen, two sisters: Dorothy Jane Gordon and Judy Notto, both of Patterson, Louisiana; one brother: Joseph C. Boutte of Abbeville, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Childers

Christie Copple Childers died peacefully in her home in liberty, Texas on June 16, 2011 at the age of 59.

She was born Christie Lynn Copple on September 13, 1951 in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Marie Ellen Hughes of Pasadena, Texas and Raymond George Copple of Bolivar, Texas.

A memorial gathering of Christie’s family and friends was from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

She is survived by her husband, David Edward (“T-Bone”) Childers of Liberty, Texas; daughter Krista Annette Childers and fiancé Ross Sutton, of Lexington, KY. She is also survived by her brother Clifton Olin Sellers of Houston, Texas; Brother John Ray Copple and wife Terry of Orange Grove, Texas and sister Diane Marie Faltesek of Bolivar, Texas as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

Morris

Jade Turner Morris, age 61, died suddenly June 20, 2011 at her home.

She was born in Liberty, Texas, January 7, 1949 the daughter of the late John Kale Turner and Margaret Myrhl Emmanuel Turner.

Jade was a dedicated member of the Liberty Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a caregiver, educator, and devoted friend. Jade recently retired from Liberty ISD after thirty-nine years of service. Over the years she taught reading, English, and drama. Jade was graduated from Liberty High School Class of 1967, and went on to receive her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Stephen F. Austin University.

She was preceded in death by her husband Randy Earl Morris; brother Zane Turner; and Uncle Dempsie Henley.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son Kale Turner Morris and wife Ashleigh; nieces Kala Bauer and Jade Warren; nephews Whit Turner, Logan Turner, and Justin Warren; Uncle Bill Cauthorn; Aunts Ouida Cauthorn and Pat Henley; grandchildren Ashton Dale Morris and Christian Wayne Morris; and a special friend Rick Schultz.

Visitation will be held Thursday June 23, 2011 from five o’clock till eight o’clock in the evening at Allison Funeral Service 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A funeral service will be held ten o’clock in the morning Friday June 24, 2011 at Liberty Church of Christ with burial to follow in Concord cemetery.

Ainsworth

Charlie Ainsworth, 80 years old, of Liberty, Texas, died on June 19, 2011 following a brief illness.

Charlie was born on March 13, 1931 in the Tanner Settlement area of Hardin, Texas. He lived in Hardin until moving to Liberty in 2007. Charlie was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp, having served from 1952 to 1954 before being honorably discharged and returning home to Texas to begin raising a family.

Charlie is a past director of the Hardin Water District and Hardin Fire District boards, and a current member of the Moss Hill cemetery board of directors.

He was a professional painter, working for Teko Contractors for more than 30 years and as an independent contractor until recently. Charlie spoke proudly of his work, particularly his detailed work painting the owl mascots on the campus of Rice University, and for the work he did at his church and at the homes of his extended circle of friends and family.

He and his wife are active members of Mt Calvary Baptist Church near Moss Hill.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Linda Ainsworth of Liberty. Seven (7) children: Daughters: Kathy Dagle and husband David of Liberty, Karen Cherry and husband Allen of Boutte, Louisiana, Rhonda Bynum of Little Elm, Texas, Amy Underwood of Dayton, Texas, Sons: Steven Ainsworth and wife Laura of Liberty, Texas, Russell “Rusty” Ainsworth and wife Joanne of Hardin, Texas, Gary Underwood of Dallas, Texas . Charlie is also survived by 15 grandchildren and nine (9) great grandchildren. One sister survives, Velma Flowers and husband George of Liberty, Texas . He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

Charlie is preceded in death by his wife Tippy Ainsworth, his father, Lee Earnest Ainsworth and mother, Bert Greenhaw Ainsworth, Brother - Lee Earnest Ainsworth Jr., George Ermon Ainsworth, Curtis Ainsworth and Jodie Ainsworth.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 5pm until 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011, 10:00am, at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel with burial to follow in the Moss Hill Community cemetery, Moss Hill, Texas. Pallbearers will be, Steven Ainsworth, Russell “Rusty” Ainsworth, Gary Underwood, Jon Cherry, Caleb Ainsworth, Anthony “Andy” Dagle and Andrew Bynum. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Bynum, Justin Dagle and Jeffrey Dagle.

Services will be conducted by Allison Funeral Home in Liberty.

Walling

Lisa Jean Walling, 50, of Devers, died Thursday June 16, 2011 at her residence.

Born on March 30, 1961 to Lazarus Gene Polasek and Sandria Ivey in Houston Texas, Lisa had lived in Devers for sixteen years and was a Delivery Driver for Bryce Delivery of Houston. She was also a member of The Bethel Assembly of God church of Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her brother Donnie Polasek, survivors are her husband DeWayne Walling of Devers, Mother Sandria Ivey of Marble Falls, Father Lazarus Gene Polasek of Pasadena, Step-father James Williams of Marble Falls. Son Michael Gene Fulbright of Devers, daughter Brandy Nichole Walling of Vidor. Brothers Jerry Polasek of Marble Falls, David Polasek of Highlands Texas, sister Tracy Hull of Kansas and one grandchild Kylin Little and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends who loved her very much.

A service of remembrance will be held on Monday June 20, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson with Reverend Darrell Brown officiating, interment will follow at The Rice Belt cemetery of Devers.

The Family will be receiving friends on Sunday June 19, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

Wagner

Jack A. 'Papa' Wagner, 78, of Eastgate, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston. He was a loving father, grandpa, and great-grandpa.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Eastgate under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Anne's Catholic cemetery. A gathering of Papa's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mona Germany Wagner; parents, Domericus and Thersa Wagner; four brothers, and three sisters. Jack served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from both Armco Steel and Wagner Services.

Jack is survived by his sons, Jacob D. Wagner and wife, Evelyn, Mike Wagner and wife, Debbie; daughter, Debbie Graham and husband, Terry; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Robertson

Eva Sue Williams Robertson, 65, of Dayton, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil; Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at McGinnis cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Eva was born May 2, 1946 in Goose Creek, to parents; James A. and Lutie M. Andrus Williams, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Dayton for the past 33 years. She was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School class of 1964, attended Lee College and San Jacinto Community College, a retired bookkeeper for General Electric in Houston with 30 years of employment, and member of the Old River Baptist Church. She also enjoyed wood working, sewing, crocheting, painting, fishing, and camping.

Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her parents and husband of six years: Cecil A. Robertson. She is survived by her daughters: Brandi Bradford and husband Jerome of Crosby and Amanda Williams of Old River, stepsons: Allen Robertson of Cleveland and Kevin Robertson of VA, step-daughter: Kim Jackson of Vidor, brother: James “Jimmy” Williams and wife Gloria of Dallas, grandchildren: Brittany, Tyler, Colton, Kamberlyn, Peygan and Taizya, great-grandchildren: Tigger and Ruger, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Mettlen

John Lester Mettlen, 74, of Moss Hill, died Monday June 13, 2011 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

He spent most of his life living in Moss Hill. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. He was retired from Austin Industries of Channelview where he worked as a pipe-fitter and boilermaker.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jewel and Lois Reese Mettlen; sister, Linda Faye Mettlen; grandsons, Jared Allan Wheeler and Codie Adam Mettlen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Mettlen of Moss Hill; children, Daron Mettlen and wife Sherry of Moss Hill, Steven Mettlen and wife Deedra of Moss Hill; Rita Wheeler and husband Albert of Moss Hill, Nita Pestlen and husband Patrick of Dayton. Sister, Lou Vardeman of Houston; grandchildren, Katrina Powell and husband T. J. of Dayton, Erika Wheeler of Moss Hill, Caleb Mettlen of Moss Hill, Cory Mettlen of Moss Hill; great grandson, Zackery Powell of Dayton. Pallbearers are Caleb Mettlen, Cory Mettlen, T.J. Powell, Kirk Wheeler, Richard Wheeler Jr, Kenneth Primrose, Robert Gerald Rayburn. Honorary Pallbearers are Elvy Mangum and Allen Wayne.

The family will receive friends on Thursday June 16, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at The Moss Hill Assembly of God Church. A service of remembrance is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday June 17, 2011 at Moss Hill Assembly of God, with Reverend James Langston officiating, interment will follow at Moss Hill cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lighthouse for the Blind of Liberty County and Veteran Services.

Hayward

Gillian M. “Jill” Nash Hayward, 56, of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the First Baptist Church with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jill was born March 24, 1955 in Dagenham, England, to parents; Henry and Catherine Hawker Nash, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 25 years. She graduated high school and attended college in England before relocating to the states, was a homemaker, former receptionist for the Seaberg Dental Office, former employee at Dayton State Bank, and member of the First Baptist Church and choir member in Dayton. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing, dancing, fishing, church activities, and being a caddy for her husband.

Mrs. Hayward was preceded in death by her father: Henry Nash and daughter: Carly Cheri Reich. She is survived by her husband of nine years: John Hayward of Dayton, daughters: Lori A. McLellan and husband Justin of Sunnyvale, CA, Holly C. Reich of Houston, Sarah Shelby of Huffman, and Emily Bederka and husband Jacob of Dayton, mother: Catherine Hawker Nash of England, brother: Dennis Nash and wife Leslie of England, grandchildren: John Mason Shelby, Chance Shelby, Zoi Hayward, Hanna Brown, Logan Bederka, and Addysen Bederka, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Collins

Billy Wayne Collins, 45, of Rye, died Sunday June 12, 2011.

He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He was a great encourager and took his time coaching his boys. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Matilda "Tillie" Collins.

He is survived by his father, Billy D. Collins and wife Wanda of Jasper; sons, Christopher Collins of Moss Hill, Dusten Collins of Moss Hill; brother, Nicky Alexander and wife Tammy; sister, Marion Williams and husband Chuck; grandmother, Mary "Nanny" Scearce; numerous family and friends.

His family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 16, 2011 at Faith and Family Funeral Service Chapel. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Thursday June 16, 2011, at Felps cemetery, officiated by Reverend Willie West.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Williams, Raymond Gowdey, Timmy Creel, Billy Jones, David Johnson, Michael Posey, Christopher Collins and Dusten Collins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E, Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 261-2100 or (936) 336-2222.

Young

Herman Young, 82, of Daisetta, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at the Guedry cemetery in Batson. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Herman was born November 22, 1928 in Daisetta, to parents; John Slick and Ava Nugent Young, and has resided in the Daisetta area throughout his life. He was a retired roughneck from Landry Oil Well Production with 20 years of employment, member of the Assembly of God Church in Daisetta, and enjoyed fishing, playing guitar.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Damon and Sydney Young and sisters: Viola Young and Mora Fregia. He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Nannie L. Whitmire Young of Daisetta, daughter: Elizabeth A. Davidson of Hull, son: Howard Young and wife Brenda of Daisetta, grandchildren: Shelly A. Fregia and husband Wesley of Liberty and Wesley P. Davidson of Mt. Belvieu, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
