Burial will be in Concord cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples. She died Monday in Omaha. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ovie Boozer of Omaha.

Burial will be in DeBerry cemetery in DeBerry under the direction of Jimerson Funeral Home. Mr. Busbey died Monday at his residence. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Baptist.

GILMER - Services for Megan Arlene Crawford, 11 months, daughter of Loren and Tammy Crawford of Ore City, were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Barclay Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, with burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, Ohio. Megan died March 4 in Gilmer. She was born March 22, 1997, in Marshall. Survivors also include her brother, Gage Crawford.

Charles 'Chuck' Cross
Services for Charles "Chuck" Cross, 65, of Longview will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. today, March 11. Mr. Cross passed away early Tuesday morning, March 10, 1998. Mr. Cross had been a resident of Longview for the past 15 years. He was self-employed with his Action Locksmith business and became known as "The Little Key Man" in East Texas. Mr. Cross loved to fish and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a son, Clay Cross; and his sister, Betty Hawley of Toledo, Ohio.

Roy L. Hair Sr.
GILMER - Services for Roy L. Hair Sr., 85, of Gilmer will be held at 2 p.m. today at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with the Rev. Bob Webb and the Rev. Wayne Spanhank officiating. Burial will be in Gilmer City cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mr. Hair died Monday, March 9, 1998, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. He was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Winnsboro, Texas, and was a lifetime resident of Upshur County. In 1946, he established Roy Hair Used Parts in Gilmer. In 1971, he married Marvel Irene Stolle in Gilmer. He retired from the scrap metal business as well as from the Gilmer Independent School District, where he was a bus driver. Mr. Hair was a member of the First Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Methodist Men and the Asbury Sunday School Class. For 58 years, he was a member of the Bethesda Masonic Lodge. Mr. Hair was preceded in death by a son, Roy L. Hair Jr. He is survived by his wife, Marvel Hair of Gilmer; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Betty Hair of Spring Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosa Hair Gray and Jerry of Henderson; his grandchildren, Robert Bessette, Cathy Reeves, Mesa King, all of Longview, Brenda Edney of Kilgore, Rickey Bessette and Debbie Glezen, both of Henderson, Patti Nichols of Palestine and Donna Bullion of Coeburn, Va.; and 11 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers are Robert Bessette, Rickey Bessette, Bill King, Bill Reeves, Clifton Edney, Mike Glezen and Don Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Asbury Sunday School Class. Mr. Hair was a well-respected member of the community. Vistation with the family was 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Geraldine Stanford Huff, 74, of Longview will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Concord cemetery in Wood County under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Rev. Fred Morrow officiating. Ms. Huff died Monday morning, March 9, 1998, at her residence. She had been a Longview resident for two years, coming from Lake O' the Pines. She was born in Mineola, Texas, on Jan. 7, 1924, and had been a motel manager in Mineola. Ms. Huff is survived by her daughters, Patsy Hoffpauir and her husband, James, of Round Rock, Texas, and Jo Ann Anderson of Longview; her grandchildren, Keith Hoffpauir of Round Rock, Kristi Meccia of Vermillion, S.D., John Anderson of Longview and Vicki Powell and her husband, Joey, of Pine Bluff, Ark.; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Lou Caffey, Jewel Hanson, and Bertie Mae Hutchins, all of Mineola, and Aliece Glasscock of Terrell; and three brothers, Jimmy Stanford of Mount Olive, Miss., Carl Stanford of Mineola and Farris Stanford of Canton.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Alvin Jackson; three sons, Billy Williams of Smackover, Ark., Bobby Williams of Big Sandy and Williams 'Bo' Jackson of Longview; five daughters, Betty Scott of Longview, Virginia Henderson of Longview, Nancy Robinson of Big Sandy, Gladys Herberger of Longview and Grace Emmel of Gilmer; a brother, Buddy Eskew of Bastrop, La.; her sisters, Lena Shepherd of Bastrop, La., and Margaret Slocum of Temple; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Williams.

Boyd Ray Jones
MARSHALL - Services for Boyd Ray Jones, 86, of Longview will be held Thursday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the Travis Street Chapel of the Sullivan Family Funeral Home. Interment will be in Smyrna cemetery in Harleton. Mr. Jones died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in Longview. He was born Sept. 2, 1911, in Texas to Henry A. Jones and Ida Shepard Jones. He married Jewel Edwards, who preceded him in death in 1985. He retired as an auto mechanic, and he was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. Mr. Jones is survived by seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Jack W. and Charlotta Jones of Rowlett, Timothy W. and Peggy Jones of Cherokee Lake, Bonnie and Dorothy Jones of Longview, Ronnie and Mary Jones of Hughes Springs, Gary and Joyce Jones of Lone Star, Chester and Margaret Jones of Tatum and Charles Jones of Longview; 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, March 11, at the funeral home at 100 E. Travis Street.

GILMER - Graveside services for Carla Yvonne Nelson, 31, of Marshall will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 11, at Enoch cemetery with Elder Jimmy Grubbs officiating. Mrs. Nelson died Sunday, March 8, 1998, in Shreveport. She was born Feb. 5, 1967, in Gladewater. She had worked at Marshall Independent School District. On Dec. 27, 1995, she married Rodney Nelson in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband, Rodney Nelson; her father, Paul Gibson of Gilmer; her mother, Carole Robinson of Gilmer; her grandmother, Ermagene Pritchett of Gilmer; a brother, Dylan Gibson of Gilmer; and a sister, Scarlet Gibson of Gilmer.

William Richard Query
Funeral services for William Richard "Dick" Query, 64, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with burial in Rosewood Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, March 11, at the funeral home. He died Monday evening, March 9, 1998, in a local hospital. A native of the Longview area, Mr. Query was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a graduate of the East Texas Regional Police Academy and the FBI National Academy. Dick was especially grateful to Chief Roy Stone for making him the first person of the rank of patrolman to attend FBINA. Mr. Query graduated from Texas A&M; Polygraph Examiners School and was a licensed polygraph examiner. Dick was a licensed Texas peace officer and held a master certificate issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education. He was employed by the Texas & Pacific Railway prior to 1962, when he began his law enforcement career with the Longview Police Department. Mr. Query developed and implemented the first narcotics division for Longview, Tyler and Nacogdoches police departments. He had received the patrolman of the year award and the certificate of achievement for exceptional service to the Longview Police Department. At retirement, he was senior investigator at the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Mr. Query was chairman of the Longview Mayor's Committee for Drug Education. He was a scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 262 and Police Explorer leader. He was awarded the Boy Scouts of America district award of merit and a certificate of commendation for outstanding leadership. Dick's military service included three years with the United States Marine Corps, where he became a sergeant. He served as commander of the 109th Military Police Corps with the Texas National Guard. He was a member of the Texas Narcotic Officers Association, the FBI National Academy Associates, FBI National Academy of Texas Associates, East Texas Peace Officers Association and the Texas Association of Polygraph Examiners and Forgery Investigators Association of Texas. Mr. Query held charter memberships in the Texas Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit Association and the American Association of Police Polygraphists. He was a member of the Alpine Church of Christ and past chancellor meritorious of Knights of Pythias. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Ash Query; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. and Rebecca Query of Arlington, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Robinette and Richard Browning of Hallsville; seven grandchildren; two nephews; and a niece. Pallbearers will be Don Green, Harrington Wallace, David Choy, Allen Pigeon, Richard Sullinger and Gene Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Stone, Billy Roy Smith, Bebe Jones and Brenda McCurry. Memorials may be made to the Texas Pythian Home for Children in Weatherford, Texas.

Effie Mae Reynolds
GILMER - Effie Mae Davis Reynolds was born March 7, 1909, in the Union Ridge community in Upshur County, Texas. She died at her home on Monday, March 9, 1998. She lived in Upshur County 35 years and was a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Bible Missionary Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher and a past president of the Ladies Missionary Society. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 11, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home with the Rev. John Harp and the Rev. George Mullins officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in going to her heavenly home by her husband, the Rev. Paul Reynolds, to whom she was married for almost 69 years. They married March 12, 1926, in Pittsburg. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Maggie and Art Little of Gilmer, Peggie Honea of Texarkana, Ark., Jo Delaney of Jacksonville, Texas, Louise and Edd Baird of Atlanta, Texas and Margaret and Ernie Ritter of Quitman, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, David and June Reynolds of White Oak, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Olford 'Buddy' Davis of Gilmer; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Baker, Rodney Burk, Steve Reynolds, Tom Wilcox, David Koonce, John Delaney, Terry Reynolds, Sam Moss, Brent Ritter, Richard Moss and Steve Mix. Visitation was held Tuesday at Grubbs Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.

KILGORE - Services for George S. "Smitty" Smith, 77, of Kilgore will be held at 4 p.m. today, March 11, at the Forest Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mr. Smith died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in Longview as the result of a farm accident. He was born March 18, 1920, in Omaha, Texas. Mr. Smith was a member of the Forest Home Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was the retired owner of R&S; Earth Movers of Kilgore and the East Texas Truck Service of Kilgore. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Ida Smith of Kilgore; three sons, Doug Smith of Kilgore, Chuck Smith of Longview and J. Smith of Flowery Branch, Ga.; three sisters, Evelyn Christian of Kilgore, Terrie Bessellieu of Dallas and Gloria Thacker of Wichita Falls; a brother, Edwin 'Sonny' Smith of Montgomery, Texas; six grandchildren, Greg Vessels of Austin, Jason and Molly Smith of Kilgore, Whitney and Adam Smith of Irving, Texas, and Alexa Smith of Flowery Branch, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Smith Vessels, and two grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Home Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1340, Kilgore 75662.

Eldon E. Clark
Services for Eldon E. "Pappaw" Clark, 89, of Longview will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 12, at the Welch Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Spanhanks officiating. Burial will be in Memory Park cemetery. Mr. Clark died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1908, in Stevens, Ark., to Iva Morris and E.B. Clark. Mr. Clark had been a resident of Longview since 1937 and resided at Clarkway Place. He was a member of the Spring Hill First Baptist Church, a former board member of the Spring Hill Independent School District, a former treasurer of the Spring Hill Lions Club and the Spring Hill Welfare Association. Mr. Clark retired from Arco after 37 years. He was a devoted family man, a loving father and a kind friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Clark, in 1971 and by his brother, Rex Clark, in 1976. Mr. Clark is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Dixie Clark, and a granddaughter, Nikki Clark, all of Longview. Pallbearers will be Tommy Terry, A.D. Carver, Ted Redmond, David Hines, Chappel Dowell and Mike Crossland. Honorary pallbearers will be R.G. Hensley, Louie Williamson, Esker Richardson, Gene King, Buster Castleberry, Larry Risinger, Les Mendicello, Steve Breazeale, Larry T. Long, Mickey Smith and Denny Smith. The family requests memorials be made to Spring Hill First Baptist Church, 4000 Gilmer Road, Longview, TX 75605.
