McDonald
Debra Kay “Sissy” McDonald went to be with our Lord on August 1, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer, she was surrounded by her loved ones. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.
Born in San Angelo,  Texas on October, 23, 1953, she leaves behind the love of her life, Robert Jarrett of Beeville, daughter Tracy Kay (Sean) Calley; her grandson and pride and joy, Hunter all of Corpus Christi; mother, Jo Etta Eubanks of Mathis; sister, Dr. Bobbie Jo Meyer of Beeville; brother, Bruce McDonald of Dinero; niece, Keri Garza of Laredo; nephew, Price Meyer of Beeville; as well as many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Ray McDonald, and her nephew, Nolan Ray McDonald both of San Angelo,  Texas.
She was born and raised in San Angelo. Attended school there, and moved to Corpus Christi in 1968. In 1972 she graduated from Ray High School. She worked for Central Power & Light Company and Jobber’s Warehouse. In 1994, she moved to Beeville,  Texas and was a dental assistant and homemaker. Sis was an avid chili cooker and won several area chili cook-offs while attaining enough points one year to compete at Terlingua. She will always be admired for her love of animals and her tender heart to care for them. She also loved plants and gardening.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel with Rev. Ben Drewry officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, TX.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in her honor may be made to your local Animal Shelter. The family wishes t express their deepest appreciation to Robert for his loving care and devotion to Debra in her final year. We would also like to thank Dr. Salloum and his staff for their help and guidance through this time. We would also like to thank Exclusive Hospice and Home Health, especially Sherri Cortez for all her help.

Moreno
Amado E. Moreno Sr., 81, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, in Corpus Christi.
Mr. Moreno resided in Beeville and was born in Goliad County on Sept. 12, 1922. He was a retired laborer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Flora Maldonado Moreno; two sons, Agapito and Felipe Moreno; one stepson, Eugenio Vidaurri; one sister, Petra Ramos; and one brother, Martin Moreno.
Survivors include his spouse, Minerva Martinez Moreno; two daughters; Juanita M. Campos of Beeville and Yolanda M. (Martin) Flores of Dallas; four sons, Gregorio (Beda) Moreno and Amado (Rosa) Moreno Jr., both of Alvarado, Pedro Moreno of Beeville and Juan Moreno of Dallas; three stepsons, Tony, Sisto and Arturo Arredondo; seven stepdaughters, Beatrice Long, Irma Reynero, Dora, Elena and Lupita Arredondo, Celina Camacho, Rosie Landreth; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers were Raven D. Moreno, Gavino Moreno, Mario Moreno, Rito “Popo” Campos, Epimenio “Epi” Campos IV and Arturo Arredondo. Honorary pallbearers were Felipe Moreno Jr. and Agapito Moreno Jr.

Toomey
Joseph Kevin Toomey, 45, died Friday, July 30, 2004, in San Antonio.
Visitation was held Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Rosary was recited that evening at 7 o’clock at the same location. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Deacon Luis Treviño officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Craig Theall, John Cooper, Roger Cope, Joe Porrini, Robert Richards and Arthur Ocampo. Honorary pallbearer was  Taylor Theall. Alternate pallbearer was Jim Simonsen.
Mr. Toomey was born in Dallas on April 24, 1959, to Joseph Wallace and Jane (Smith) Toomey. He graduated from the University of  Texas at San Antonio with his architect’s degree. He was a Catholic and resided in San Antonio. He was employed as an architect with Officesource Limited.
Survivors include his father, Joe W. Toomey of San Antonio; his mother, Jane Toomey of Concord, N.C.; his sister, Karen Toomey of Dallas; and a niece, Lindsey Ramos of Dallas.
Mr. Toomey’s parents and grandparents were originally from Beeville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC), 1-800-340-2872, in San Antonio.

Morse
Robert E. Morse, 87, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004.
Visitation was to be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Funeral services will take place today (Saturday) at 11 a.m. at the same location, with the Rev. Doug Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Morse was born in Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 21, 1917, to Watt and Lucille (Petrillo) Morse. He served in the U.S. Army. He was married to Meta Janet Kirkland, who preceded him in death in 1998. He was a Beeville resident and a retired civil service employee at NAS Chase Field.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeannie Darling and husband Rick of Silver Spring, Md.; three grandchildren, Robert Morse of Austin, Robert Lionel Darling of Seattle, Wash., and Mary Ann Darling Tallon and husband Jay of Silver Spring, Md.; two great-grandchildren, Julia Jeanette and Patrick Tallon, both of Silver Spring, Md.; a sister, Julia Thompson of New York state; six nephews, Tommy and John Galloway, George Kirkland and Paul, Perry and Kirkie Kirkland; two cousins, Clevie and Arthur Kirkland; and several nieces and nephews.

Haney
Deborah Sue Haney, 20, died Saturday, July 24, 2004.
She was born on May 29, 1984, to Morris and Linda Haney, who survive her. Other survivors include her paternal grandparents, Roy and Billie Haney of Beeville; and her maternal grandparents, Ted and Nathadean Robinson of Wister, Okla.
Miss Haney was home schooled and graduated with her associate’s degree from Coastal Bend College. She loved animals and enjoyed horseback riding. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Beeville.
Visitation was held on Monday at Treviño Funeral Home chapel from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with Brother Sam Ingram officiating. Burial followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Don Baker, Craig Ingram, Tony Brannon, Jeff Burchfield, Austin Brown III and Dustin Wallek.

Martinez
Clara M. Martinez, 90, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
A memorial service will be held on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Beeville, with local Elder Eliazar Guerrero officiating.
Mrs. Martinez was born on Sept. 27, 1913, to Amada O. Meza and William J. Miller. She resided in Beeville and was a member of the Kingdom Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Augustine Meza Sr.
Survivors include five nieces, Marie DiSenso and husband Paul of Loveland,  Colo., Naomi Meza of Austin, Eunice Calzada and husband Joe of Richmond, Linda Williams and husband Dexter of Sugar Land and Louanna Tapia and husband Gilbert of Beeville; a nephew, Augustine Meza and wife Elena of Beeville; and a sister-in-law, Fidela Meza.

 Schmidt
Chad Alan  Schmidt, 26, died Friday, July 23, 2004. He graduated from Skidmore-Tynan High School in 1996.
 Schmidt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Maurice (Pete) and Dorothy  Schmidt.
Survivors include his parents, Robin and Joe Schubert of Sinton and Steve and Gloria  Schmidt of Whitsett; a sister, Jennifer  Schmidt Teichelman of Dallas; two brothers, Chance  Schmidt of Sinton and Jacob  Schmidt of Whitsett; his maternal grandparents, Lou and Joyce Little of Portland; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Limbaugh Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the First United Methodist Church of Sinton. Burial will follow at San Patricio Memorial Gardens in Portland.
Arrangements were handled by Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland.

 Schmidt
Luisa M.V.  Schmidt, DDS, 48, died Thursday, July 22, 2004.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home.
Mrs.  Schmidt was born in Odessa on Nov. 17, 1955, to Arnulfo and Bobbye (Williams) Viveros. She married Richard  Schmidt on March 5, 1994, in San Antonio. She resided in Beeville and was a dentist, employed as the unit director for the  Texas Department of Criminal Justice Garza Unit.
Survivors include her husband, Richard  Schmidt of Beeville; a daughter, Paula  Schmidt Boyd and husband David of Natalia; a granddaughter, Marleah Rebecca Boyd of Natalia; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Viveros of San Antonio; her brothers, Paul K. Viveros of Dallas and Leamon Viveros and wife Patti of North Pole, Alaska; her sister-in-law, Rhonda Viveros of Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Bexar County, 4804 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio, TX 78229.

Wren
Marvin Elwood Wren, 80, of Mathis died Friday, July 23, 2004.
Mr. Wren was born on June 1, 1924, in Lagarto to Albert Elwood and Lillian Wren. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II as a medic and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Wren had resided in Mathis since 1955 and was a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier. He also was a member of the Argenta Church of Christ and the VFW of Mathis.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Maudie Wren of Mathis; two daughters, Nancy Wren of Mathis and Teresa (Howard) Fawcett of Sinton; two sons, Marven (Margaret) Wren Jr. of Corpus Christi and Albert (Melinda) Wren of Mathis; one sister, Inez DuBose of Mineral; one brother, Leslie “Sonny” (Doris) Wren of Beeville; seven grandchildren, Lindsay Wren, Shane Wren, Miranda Fawcett, Marah Fawcett, Chelsea Wren, Christina Formolo and Samuel Formolo; and one great-grandchild, A.J. Formolo.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home chapel in Mathis. Interment followed in Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis.
Arrangements were handled through Dobie Funeral Home, Mathis.

Clifton
Jeannette C. Clifton, 60, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Visitation was to be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. She will be buried in the Miner Cemetery in McCurtain, Okla.
Mrs. Clifton was born in Porterville,  Calif., on May 4, 1944, to Louis Charles and Dora (Baker) Yaws. She resided in Beeville and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Darla and Carla Clay, and two sisters, Ernajean Gorhan and Bea Ritchie.
Survivors include her daughter, Gidget J. Clark of Nebraska; a son, Donald G. Clifton of Beeville; five grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Scheetz of Beeville and Joyce Price of Bakersfield,  Calif.; three brothers, Jay Yaws of Wagner, Okla., Johnny Yaws of Placerville,  Calif., and Daniel Yaws of Stigler, Okla.
