Alvarado
Mary Alice Alvarado, 42, died Sunday, June 26, 2005.
Graveside services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at Cemeterio Evangelico, with the Rev. Salvador Rincon officiating.
Pallbearers were Roger Blaker, Michael Villarreal, Eric Alvarado, Rene Garcia, Enrique Martinez and Aaron Shirley.
Miss Alvarado was born in Beeville on Aug. 10, 1962, to Ernesto Alvarado and Maria Lozano. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her mother, Maria Lozano; her father, Ernesto Alvarado, both of Beeville; her sisters, Sylvia Saldivar and husband Augustine and Becky Blaker, all of Beeville, and Mary Ann Saldierna of Bay City; her brother, Ernest Alvarado; two daughters, Felicia and Audrey; five sons, including Daniel, Joseph and Eric; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gonzales
Micaela Flores Gonzales, 86, died Saturday, June 25, 2005.
Visitation was held Monday from 1 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the same location. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Angel Dominguez, Ted Flores Sr., John Camacho, Roland Camacho, Fernando Cruz, Larry Zapata and Pablo Borjas. Honorary pallbearers were Telis Flores Jr. and David Guajardo.
Mrs. Gonzales was born in Beeville on Sept. 9, 1918, to Miguel and Teresa Miranda Flores. She resided in Port Lavaca and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Mrs. Gonzales was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ventura Gonzales, her parents, a son, George Flores Gonzales, a sister, Inez Garcia, a brother, Juan Flores, her stepsister, Nieves Reyes, and an aunt who raised her, Isabel Tijerina.
Survivors include her son, Juan B. “Johnny” Gonzales and wife Linda of Beeville; her daughters, Estella Guajardo and husband Encarnacion and Jo Landa Guajardo and husband David, all of Port Lavaca, and Rosalinda Borjas of Victoria; her grandchildren, John and Kelly Camacho, Roland and Nikki Camacho, Michelle and Larry Zapata, Penny and Fernando Cruz, Erica Guajardo, Linda and Christian Borjas, Juan Elias and George Anthony Gonzales; 11 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ted Flores Sr. and wife Francis and Amado Flores and wife Maria, all of Port Lavaca, Telisforo Flores of Beeville, Lupe Flores of Corpus Christi, Regino Flores and wife Solia of Kenedy, Pete Flores of Houston and Mike Flores and wife Santos of Abernathy; and a sister, Isabel F. Dominguez of Corsicana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to La Amistad Adult Day Care.

Grant
Lucy Dell Grant, 92, of St. Hedwig, died Thursday, June 23, 2005, at a nursing home in La Vernia after an extended illness. She was born on Sept. 22, 1912, in Choate. The former Ms. Lucy Dell Garner married Norman C. Grant of Smiley on June 4, 1932, at the Methodist parsonage in Kenedy. The couple were married 66 years before he preceded her in death in February of 1999.
Mrs. Grant was the daughter of Zella Boultinghouse and James Allie Garner of Choate. She lived in Choate, Kenedy, Beeville, Houston, Seguin, San Antonio and St. Hedwig, where she lived since 1960.
She is survived by her son, Dale Grant of St. Hedwig; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy with the Rev. Ken Houston officiating. Interment followed at the New Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy.
Pallbearers were Dale Grant Sr., Cliff Grant, Phillip  Whitenton, David  Whitenton, Lyndon Watson and Tim Garner.
Arrangements were handled through Eckols Funeral Home, Inc., Kenedy.

Langley
Paul B. Langley Jr., 41, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Mr. Langley was born in Beeville on July 25, 1963, to Paul B. Langley Sr. and Erlene Toliver.
He graduated from A.C.  Jones High School in 1981 and also graduated from Bee County College, receiving his welding degree. He was employed as a welder.
Mr. Langley was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his sister, Danice Diane Cromwell of Mobile, Ala.; and two brothers: Michael Langley of Corpus Christi and Rodney Langley of Beeville. Visitation will be held tonight (Wednesday) from 5 to 9 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the same location with the Rev. Eric Tarver officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery with Amos Langley, Lionel Hodge, Ray Langley, Abel Gomez, John Drew and Mitchell Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Toliver, Eric Lott, Jared Mitchell Langley, Shelby Lewis and  Taylor Toliver.

Schulz
Elizabeth Louise Schutz Schulz, 97, died Saturday, June 25, 2005.
Visitation will be held tonight (Wednesday) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Duke officiating. Special music will be provided by pianist Lucille Kinkler, who will perform “The Lord’s Prayer.” Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Schulz III, Donald Schutz, Terry Pepple, Kevin Cousins, Buck Dabney and Dennis DeWitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Wroten and Alex Kibler.
Mrs. Schulz was born in Cameron on Sept. 13, 1907, to Frank and Olga (Tauch) Schutz. She attended school in Robstown and went to the University of  Texas at Austin.
She married Paul A. Schulz in Robstown on Sept. 18, 1928. A well-known Beeville resident, Mrs. Schulz was owner of Schulz and Wroten Pharmacy since 1936 and an accomplished artist who won many awards for her work. A teacher of porcelain painting, Mrs. Schulz was honored with a one-woman show of her wildflower paintings by the Witte Museum in San Antonio in March of 1966.
Committed to Bee County gardening and wildflower conservation since the 1960s, she made the recommendation that the huisache daisy should become Bee County’s official flower. Mrs. Schulz was a nationally accredited flower show judge and a member of many local organizations, including Rosetta Club, Beeville Art Association, Bee County Library Board, Beeville Garden Club, Pink Ladies (Beeville Memorial Hospital Volunteers), Birthday Club and Home Arts Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on Dec. 13, 1979.
Survivors include her son, Paul A. Schulz Jr. and wife Jacqueline B. Schulz of Phoenix, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth S. Pepple of Mercer Island, Wash.; a grandson, Paul A. Schulz III of La Canada,  Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 106 E. Cleveland St., Beeville, TX 78102.

Villarreal
Gracie H. Villarreal, 43, of Houston, died Friday, June 24, 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Joel Hinojosa of Houston; her former husband, Israel Hernandez of Baytown; three sons, Israel Hernandez Jr., Israel Epifanio Hernandez and Emanuel Hernandez, all of Baytown; three sisters, Hilda Medrano of Mathis, Martina Villarreal and Carol Padilla, both of Baytown; four brothers, Epifanio M. Villarreal Jr., Gerardo Villarreal, Martin Villarreal and David Villarreal, all of Mathis; a stepbrother, Epifanio C. Villarreal of Tynan; a grandchild, Israel Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents preceded her in death.
The family received friends and relatives on Monday from noon until 9 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home in Mathis, with a prayer service at 7 o’clock that same evening. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the same location. Burial followed in the Descanso Eterno II Cemetery in Mathis.

Mrs. Almendarez
Lilia Almendarez, 96, of Skidmore died on Thursday, July 6, 2006.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1910, in Skidmore to Maria Luna and Espididion “Flaco” Casanova. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Skidmore and was a homemaker. She loved handwork, crafts embroidery, crochet, reading the Bible, playing the piano and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two grandsons.
She is survived by two daughters, Bertha (Santana) Lopez and Elva (Randy) Popham, both of Skidmore; three sisters, Gumicinda Garza of Mathis, Beatrice Segovia of Houston, and Emma Escamilla of Robstown; four grandchildren, Mark Martin Lopez, Samuel Ray Pacheco, Cynthia Ann Pacheco and Raul Thomas Martinez; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were held there at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Lee Bevly officiating. Organ and vocal music were provided by Cindy Bevly. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.

Mrs. Rozell
Shirley A. Rozell, 69, of Beeville died on Thursday, July 6, 2006.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1936, in Roane to Alene Connor and Sidney Laningham. She married Jerome F. Rozell on Nov. 4, 1955. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Rozell was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome F. Rozell on July 7, 1993, and one son, Jerome A. Rozell.
Survivors include one son, Leonard Lee Rozell of Beeville; two daughters, Kimberlyn Horton of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cynthia Ann O’Hara of Middlesboro, Ky.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Laningham of Orange Grove; and one sister, Marcheta Edwards of Romayor.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were held there at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Lee Bevly officiating. Burial followed at Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Arlie Parker Jr., Lonnie Laningham, Don Wall, Dan Pate, Richard Pate and Ronnie Pate. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Grigsby and Bobby Smith.

Mr. Younts
Charlie Younts, 51, of Corpus Christi died on Monday, July 10, 2006.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1954, in Three Rivers to Gladys Franke and Jimmy Younts. He worked for Rex Supply in Corpus Christi for 26 years. He was a graduate of George West High School and Southwest  Texas State University. He was a Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Younts, and his father, Jimmy Younts, both of Three Rivers; three brothers, Bobby Younts and wife Lynda of George West, Mike Younts and wife Shirley and Billy Younts and wife Cheryl, both of Three Rivers; two sisters, Frances Lee and husband Terry of George West and Kathy Kimsey and husband Mike of Denver,  Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers with a prayer service held at 6 p.m. Funeral services were to be held today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Oakville Cemetery in Oakville with Norman Sulaica officiating. Pallbearers were Jeffery Younts, Joe Willie Lee, Jason Younts, Stewart Lee, Cameron Younts and Tyree Lee. Honorary pallbearers were all other nephews and nieces.
Memorials or donations may be made to Oakville Cemetery Association, Box 545, George West,  Texas 78022.

Mr. Casas. Jr.
Leocadio (Leo) Casas, Jr., 74 years old, passed away May 3, 2007, in a San Antonio Hospital after a short illness.
He was born February 27, 1933, in Benavides,  Texas. He graduated from Benavides High School in 1951 and  Texas A & M University in College Station,  Texas in 1955, with a degree in Animal Husbandry.
He married the former Minerva Cuellar of San Diego,  Texas and raised his family in Alice,  Texas. He continued his family’s ranching tradition in Duval County,  Texas and was one of the early breeders of Beefmaster cattle in the state.
Casas had a 16 year career with Farmers Home Administration as a loan officer. He served as supervisor of Duval, Brooks, Atascosa, and Frio counties. In his capacity as county supervisor, he loaned Federal Funds to area farmers and ranchers and also financed housing for hundreds of families in San Diego, Benavides, Freer, Falfurrias, Pearsall, Dilley, Pleasanton, Poteet, and other communities.
He will best be remembered for his unforgettable sense of humor that touched the many friends and acquaintances he accumulated over the years in the South  Texas ranching community.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Leocadio Casas Sr. and Lauriana Salinas Casas; brother Victoriano Casas; and daughter, Teresa Annette Casas Martinez.
Survivors include three sisters, Virginia (Enrique) Ramirez of Realitos, Ninfa C. Mc Dermott of San Diego, and Lucilla Casas of Mc Allen; two granddaughters, Sara Camille Casas and Ana Claire Casas; one son, Leocadio (Leo) Casas, III (Roxane Marie) all from Beeville; one daughter, Marta Gina Casas of San Antonio; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Pallbearers are nephews Richard DeLeon, Stevan DeLeon, Enrique Ramirez, Jr., Roberto Ramirez, Carlos Tomas McDermott, and David McDermott.
A rosary will be recited Sunday May 6th, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Benavides,  Texas. Burial will follow at the Benavides Cemetery in Benavides,  Texas.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes in San Diego,  Texas.
