HILTON January 2, suddenly in hospital), of Tees Close, Peterlee. Joan (nee Watson), aged 84 years, beloved wife of Bill, dearly loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Family and friends please meet Tuesday 2.30 p.m. at St. Cuthbert's Church for service, followed by interment at Horden Cemetery.

HINDS January 4, peacefully in hospital, late of Kepier Crescent, Gilesgate. Ethel (nee Bell), aged 81 years, beloved wife of the late John, a much loved mam of Pauline and the late Michael and dearly loved mother-in-law to John and Anne and a much loved nanna, great-gran, sister and aunty. Will be sadly missed by all her loving family. Friends please meet at St. Oswald's Church, Durham on Wednesday, January 12 at 2.00 p.m., for service prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium. Marjorie, aged 58 years, beloved wife of Henry, devoted mam of Maureen, Harry, Sue, Edward and Lucy, a dear mother-in-law to Graham, Gillian, Phill and Helen, much loved and loving granny to Philip, Courtney, Harry and Daniel, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Church, Bishop Auckland at 10.30 a.m. on Monday, January 10, followed by interment in West Auckland Cemetery.

JACKSON (nee Ripley) January 4, (of Darlington). Joanne Elizabeth (Jo), aged 78 years. Beloved mum of Sandra, Keith, Tania and Lynsie, also a much loved grandmum of Emily, Anthony (Jnr), Stephanie, Louise, Christopher, Emma, Victoria, Alexandra, Katherine and Anthony. The funeral service will take place on Monday January 17, 1.15 p.m. at Darlington Cremator ium. Friends and relatives welcome, please meet at the crematorium. JACKSON passed away peacefully, at home on January 6, after a short illness, of Newton Hall, Durham. Emily, loving and much loved wife of Tom, devoted mother of Christine and Philip, mother-in-law of Derek and June and dearest grandmother of Richard, Michael, Sean and Daryl. Funeral Service of Thanksgiving for her love and friendship to be held at Elvet Methodist Church on Friday, January 14 at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium. Mini Bus provided to and from Church. Friends welcome for refreshments at Bede Lodge Social Club afterwards. Family flowers only please. Contributions may be made to the Macmillan Cancer Fund after the service. She lived for those she loved and those she loved remember.

KELL On January 4, peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his family, of Sherburn Hill. Fred, aged 61 years, beloved husband of Margaret, dearly loved father of Jim, Jason, Heath and Audra, also a devoted granda of Amy, Jason, Jordan, Danny and Sam and will be sadly missed by all his family. William James (Bill), retired police sergeant, aged 84 years, beloved husband of Flo, loving father of David, Dorothy, Barbara and Susan, dear father-in-law of David, devoted granda of Helen, Sarah and Gareth and great-granda of Lauren and also a dear brother and brother-in-law. Friends please meet for service at St. Catherine's Church, Crook on Wednesday, January 12 at 2.00 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Family and friends welcome to refreshments afterwards at Crook R.A.F.A Club.

Tommy, aged 68 years, beloved son of the late Robert and Jane, much loved brother of Norman and Ted, also a loving brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle.
