Donations in lieu may be given after the service for Cancer Research U.K. Friends welcome for refreshments at Meadowfield Club afterwards.

Ruby, aged 82 years, beloved wife of the late Lawrence, dearly loved mother of Ann, much loved grandma of Wendy, a dear sister of Jack and sister-in-law of Phyllis. Friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium Chapel on Friday, May 5 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in South Road Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given after the service for St. Cuthbert's Hospice. Friends welcome for refreshments at Ruby's home afterwards to celebrate her life.


ROBINSON - April 25 (peacefully, at Springfield Nursing Home), of Greenbank Court, Darlington. Stanley (Stan), aged 82 years. Dearly loved husband of Eunice, much loved father of Tony, Derek, Sonia and Kevin, a loving father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Wednesday May 3. Friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 3.15 p.m. Floral tributes if desired to home address.


RODDAM - April 25 (peacefully at home), of Rookhope. Edna (nee Wall), aged 85 years, beloved wife of the late Nichol, also a much loved aunt and great-aunt. Friends please meet for service in St. John's Church on Wednesday, May 3 at 9.45 a.m., followed by interment in Rookhope Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if so desired, may be left at the church for Church Funds and the Luncheon Club.


ROGERSON - April 27, peacefully, at Oak Lodge Nursing Home. Maurice, aged 77 years, of Darlington. Brother of Iris, Peter and family, nephew of John and devoted friend of Richie, Maria and family. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, May 4 at Darlington Crematorium at 1.45 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel. On whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy.

Dorothy (nee Bennett), aged 85 years (formerly of Norton), dearly loved wife of the late Arthur, dearest mother of Edward and Richard, dear mother-in-law of Janet also a much loved grandmother. Service and cremation at Teesside Crematorium, Saturday, April 29 at 10.15 a.m. (St. Hilda's Chapel). Friends please meet at crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired may be sent to Alzheimer's Disease Society, 55 Albert Road, Middlesbrough.

Reginald (Reg), aged 91 years, beloved father of Roger and Paul, dear father-in-law to Carol and Pam, also a dear grandfather and great-grandfather. A private family service has been held. The family wish to express their most sincere thanks to all staff at Barrington Lodge Nursing Home for their care.


SAWLEY - Ellen Gray (nee Snowball) April 27, of Birchwood Court Nursing Home Easington, (formerly of Ashbrooke Estate, Shotton). Nellie, aged 85 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Thomas Jones, loving mother of Valerie and Carol, dear mother-in-law of Arthur and Steve and also devoted gran of Carolyn and her husband Derrick, Neil and Greer, great-gran of Cory, Rhys and Tiana. Cremation Durham Crematorium Wednesday May 3. Cortege to leave residence on Thursday, April 27 for service at St. Giles' Church, Gilesgate at 2.10 p.m., prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium at 3.00 p.m. Family flowers only please. George Dunstone, aged 78 years (1st The Kings Dragoon Guards, Former Inspector Kenya Police, Secretary and Treasurer of the Carlton Private Members Club and former manager of the Beaconsfield Public House. Dearly loved husband of Jennie (nee Gibson), much loved dad of John and Ian, dear father-in-law of Jean and Suzanne and devoted grandad of Ashleigh, Matthew, Jonah and George. Dear friend of Helen and son of the late Thomas William and Margaret Elsie Stevens. Cortege to meet on Wednesday, May 3 for funeral service at St. Helen's Parish Church at 1.15 p.m., cremation to follow at Saltwell Crematorium at 2.00 p.m. All welcome afterwards to the Carlton Private Members Club. STRANG - Peacefully after a long illness, on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Lynbank Hospital, Dunfermline. Jean (nee McGraw), late of Hurworth and former secretary of Firthmoor Junior School. Beloved wife of the late Alec Strang and a much loved mum to Kathleen and Susan and mother-in-law to Richard and Keith, also a proud gran to Stuart, Alastair, Carl and Iain. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 3 at 1.50 p.m. at Mortonhall Crematorium, Edinburgh (Pentland Chapel) to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Roderick (Rod), aged 62 years, formerly a fitter at Hugh Mackay Carpets, beloved husband of Mary, much loved dad of Ian, Janet and Lynne and a smashing grandad and also a much loved twin to John. Cecil, aged 88 years, dearly loved husband of Hilda, devoted dad of Lorna and Dorothy, father-in-law of Arnold and Nick, a dearest grandad of Alison and husband Keith, Andrew and wife Fiona, Tom and Jack, also a much loved great-grandad of Owen, Anna and Mackenzie and a dearly remembered brother and brother-in-law.
