Funeral services for Ethel Counts McCord will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at State Street United Methodist Church by Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The Revs. Fred Dearing and Jonathan Jonas will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. McCord, 98, of 213 Maple Tree Drive, Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at her home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the church parlor.
Oakley-Cook Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Albert V. Miller
Funeral services for Albert Vernon Miller will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Herman Cress and John Davidson will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with military graveside rites by VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975.
Mr. Miller, 78, of Anderson Street, Bristol, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Arkansas and lived in the Detroit area for 35 years before moving to Bristol nine years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was a retired employee of Emil VanSile Co. of Detroit.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Sexton Miller; a daughter, Cynthia Renee Miller of Bristol Tennessee; three stepdaughters, Annette Caudill of Abingdon, Marlene Dickenson of Bristol Virginia and Pamela Minnick of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.; five stepsons, Scott Sexton, Roger Sexton and Wayne Sexton, all of Glade Spring, and Charles "Corkie" Sexton and Dale Sexton, both of Abingdon; two sisters, Inez Garver of Hillman, Mich., and Nettie Tinsley of Piggett, Ark.; two granddaughters; 21 step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Dickenson Jr., Carlyle Hobbs, Gilbert Cox, Darrell Dickenson, Jason Sexton and Dwayne Sheffield. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday in Farris Funeral Service.
Gordon Montgomery
KINGSPORT -- Funeral services for Gordon Cowan Montgomery will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Robert McNew will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by VFW Charles DeWitt Byrd Post 3382 of Kingsport.
Mr. Montgomery died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at his home.
He had lived in Bristol Tennessee before moving to Kingsport in 1960. He was a retired engineer with Tennessee Eastman with 32 years of service and a member of the local Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He was a certified plant engineer and a life member of the Jamestown Society and First Families of Tennessee.
He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps stationed in England with the 8th Air Force. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of the VFW Charles DeWitt Byrd Post 3382 of Kingsport. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian L. Montgomery; a son, Jim Montgomery of Knoxville; a sister, Margaret Kelly of Williamsburg, Va.; a granddaughter, Jenny Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Irvin Montgomery.
His hobbies were photography and genealogy. He was loving and devoted to his wife, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday before the service in Akard Funeral Home.

Bryan Trevor Mumpower
Bryan Trevor Mumpower, 28, of 14408 Heather Drive, Bristol, Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol and a son of Sue Vance Mumpower of Bristol Virginia and Olin F. Mumpower Jr. of Bristol Virginia. He was a graduate of John S. Battle High School and attended Virginia Highlands Community College. He was a machinist and electrician.
Surviving, besides his parents, are a daughter, Trinity Quinn Mumpower of Mendota, Va.; a brother, Andrew Kevin Mumpower of Bristol Virginia; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Vance of Bristol Virginia; paternal grandmother, Frances Mumpower of Bristol Virginia; and his former wife, Dawn Bailey Mumpower of Mendota.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Nick Adams will officiate.
Among survivors are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.

Junior A. Murray
LEBANON -- Junior A. Murray, 72, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, in Russell County Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Russell County Funeral Home.
He was a son of the late Earnest and Georgia
Wells Murray. He lived in Russell County for the past 42 years, moving from Big Stone Gap. He attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired resident mechanic with Virginia Department of Transportation with 47 years of service. He was the widower of Aldie Trent Murray.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Summers of Lebanon and Doris Summers of Charlottesville, Va.; two sons, Donnie Murray and Allen Trent, both of Charlottesville; three sisters, Jewell Bledsoe and Janice Bush, both of Big Stone Gap and Judy Gobble of Lebanon; three brothers, Jason Murray of Exeter, Va., Joe Bill Murray and Johnny Murray, both of Big Stone Gap; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Glen Nickles

Mr. Nickles, 78, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at his home.
He was a retired chef with Kettring Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Wilburn, Dr. Steven Hanor, Dr. Sarfraz Zaidi, Gene McCluskey and Dan Hendrickson.

CASTLEWOOD -- Funeral services for Ella Mae Dean Randolph will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home. The Revs. Ted Phillips and John Branch will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum, Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood.
Mrs. Randolph, 72, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, in Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.

Minnie L. Roberts

Mrs. Roberts, 91, formerly of Leisure Park Towers, Bristol, Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, in Bristol Nursing Home.

Margaret H. Stacy
OAKTON, Va. -- Margaret Helton Stacy, 85, formerly of Richlands, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at her home.
She was born in Richlands, a daughter of the late Claude W. and Mae Rebecca Stinson Helton. She was a member of First Christina Church in Richlands and the widow of Needham E. Stacy.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy C. Stacy of the home and Janice R. Shortridge of Vienna, Va.; two granddaughters, Debora Shortridge of Melbourne, Fla., and Mrs. Rick (Karen) Cole of Richmond; and four great-grandchildren, Travis Cole, Patrick H.A. Cole, Nickolas W. Cole and Stacy M. Cole.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff. The Rev. Gerald Stacy will officiate. Burial will be in Hankins Cemetery in Richlands.
Among survivors is a brother-in-law, Fayne E. Stacy and wife Gaye of Richlands.
