Robert F. Kerrick
Robert Fremont Kerrick, 63, of 1709 Mulberry Road, Martinsville, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.
He was born March 3, 1942, in Pennsylvania, to Lois Biels Kerrick Weger of Florida.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Kerrick.
He was retired from E.I. DuPont as an engineer and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Hilda Powell Kerrick of the home; a daughter, Katrina K. Sullivan of Roanoke; a stepdaughter, Lynn R. Perdomo of Florida; two sons, Robert F. Kerrick Jr. of Ridgeway and Christopher Kerrick of Martinsville; a stepson, John A. Ramey of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Marlene Ladd of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a brother, Charles Kerrick of Florida; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday before the service and other times at the home.
Norris Funeral Services is handling arrangements.

Anna Lash
Anna Lash, 74, of 12801 Henry Road, Henry, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
Arrangements will be announced by Collins Funeral Services of Bassett.

Novella Mills
Novella Mills, 57, of 1417 Cardinal Lane, Martinsville, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
Arrangements will be announced by Hairston Funeral Home.

Marjorie C. Stanley
Marjorie Clark Stanley, 84, of Kings Grant Retirement Community, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Kings Grant.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Services chapel.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stanleytown United Methodist Church.

Georgia S. Waller
STUART -- Georgia Spencer Waller, 91, of Collinsville Road, Stuart, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
She was born April 16, 1914, in Charlotte County to Walter B. Spencer and Ella Barnes Spencer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, W. Philip Spencer.
She was a member of Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church where she was the piano player for many years.
She also was a retired school teacher with the Patrick County School System where she taught for 28 years and with the Charlotte County School System for three years.
Surviving are her husband, Paul B. Waller of the home; two daughters, Patsy "Pat" Curry and Jane Cox, both of Stuart; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Warren Stackhouse officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Creasey's Chapel Building Fund c/o Mike Vipperman, 1504 Midway Dr., Spencer, Va. 24165.

Mamie F. Witt
Mamie Ferguson Witt, 83, of 2316 Trent Hill Dr., Bassett, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Henry County to Edd Ferguson and Elizabeth Mize Ferguson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Witt; four brothers, Clinton Ferguson, Roy E. Ferguson, Robert E. Ferguson, and Chester Ferguson; and two sisters, Earsy F. Martin and Estelle Ferguson.
She was employed by DuPont for more than 30 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bassett.
Surviving are a son, Ronald D. Witt of Bassett; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Services chapel and also at the home of her son at 57 Youlah Dr., Bassett.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Bassett with the Revs. Lew Bennett and Robert Breckenridge officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren cemetery.

Former Patrick Mayor
J. "Clayton" Boaz dies
James "Clayton" Boaz, who served as mayor of Stuart in the 1970s and former owner and operator of The Enterprise newspaper in Stuart, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was 85.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Bassett Funeral Service in Bassett.

Martha L. Bailey
VINELAND, N.J. -- Martha Lee "Baby Rae" Mayo Carter Bailey, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at her home in Vineland.
She was born in Virginia to Bee Dodson Mayo. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Cleve Bailey; a son, Tony W. Bailey Sr.; a daughter, Wanda Lee Bailey; three brothers, James Dodson Mayo, Alfred Samuel Mayo and Walter Mayo; and a sister, Fannie Robertson.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Vineland where she did volunteer work for many years.
Surviving are two sons, George "Butch" Carter of Axton, Va. and Cleveland Bailey of Vineland; a brother, John May of Virginia; four sisters, Rosa Jones of Virginia, Mary Blackwell of Maryland and Mattie Beard and Carolyn Hutchinson, both of Virginia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral on Thursday.
Memorials may be made to: South Jersey Healthcare Hospice Care, 2848 S. Delsea Drive, Vineland, N.J. 08360.

Amos Belcher
Amos "Bud" Belcher, 79, of Millhouse Road, Stuart, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart.
He was born in Patrick County on Nov. 8, 1926, to Dennis O. Belcher and Lala Dalton Belcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Archie Belcher, Arthur Pete Belcher and Luther Ray Belcher; and two sisters, Lena Hayden and Edna Pendleton.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Delcie Rorrer Belcher of the home; a daughter, Janis Spence of Stuart; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Hollis Belcher of Stuart.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Moody Funeral Home chapel in Stuart with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the funeral on Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Smith River Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 122, Woolwine, Va. 24185.
