Marianne S. Ferrell

TULSA, Okla. — Marianne Shea Ferrell, 71, died June 13, 2001, at her home.

She was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Manchester, Conn., daughter of Frederick Thomas Shea and Helen Hayes Shea.

She graduated from Springfield High School in Vermont in 1948 and the University of Vermont in 1952. After graduation she was commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Navy Waves. She earned a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 1962.

Mrs. Ferrell was a field director for Camp Fire Girls in Ponca City and was awarded the Wakan and Hittani awards. She was the first woman to take a group of Horizon Girls to camp at Philmont Scout Camp, thus paving the way for other girls. She taught night school at Pioneer Vo-Tech, substituted at Ponca City High School and taught at Northern Oklahoma College.

She was active in PEO, TROA, Meals on Wheels, Bible Study Group and Agape Sunday school class at the First Baptist Church of Tulsa. Prior to moving to Tulsa, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ponca City, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school. Mrs. Ferrell was also past president of the International Club in Ponca City.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Howard H. Ferrell; two daughters, Karen Young of Edmond and Helen Lundeen of Lynchburg, Va.; a son, Howard Ferrell of Tulsa; a sister, Helen Orizzonto of West Lebanon, N.H.; a brother, Mike Shea of Raleigh, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held today at 9:30 a.m. in Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Ponca City. The memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tulsa. After the memorial service, the family will receive guests in the church parlor.

Calling hours were held Thursday at the Moore Southlawn Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Francis Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Moore Southlawn Funeral Home in Tulsa.

Marion K. Dimick

TAFTSVILLE — Marion K. Dimick, 91, died June 14, 2001, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

She was born Dec. 6, 1909, in Jerusalem, Vt., daughter of David B. and Mattie Swain Moody Dike.

She was educated in Starksboro.

She married Howard A. Dimick of Richmond on Aug. 1, 1931. He died in 1972.

Mrs. Dimick joined her husband in his insurance business in 1950 until they sold it in 1954.

She was a volunteer in the updating of the Richmond Library and served as librarian. She served as a Sunday school teacher, intermediate assistant leader of the junior league and assistant leader of the young people’s club of the Congregational Church. She was a member of the Louise M. Smiley Circle of the Universalist Church, a worthy matron of the Friendship Lodge of the Eastern Star, a noble grand of the Queen Ester Rebeccas Lodge and past district deputy of District 4 of the Rebeccas, She was also a member of the Auxiliary to Canton Lafayette of Burlington, secretary of the Chittenden County 4-H leaders and leader of Richmond’s Hummers Club for seven years. She was a life member of the Royalton Raid Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7673 and the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Wendling of South Promfret, Louise Flower of Winooski and Nina Dimick of Woodstock; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by three sons, Malcolm in 1988, David in 1965 and Marshall in 1995.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Cabot Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Taftsville Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.

Barry C. Williamson Sr.

FAIRLEE — Barry C. Williamson Sr., 51, died June 13, 2001, at his home.

He was born May 16, 1950, in Woodsville, N.H., son of Edward E. and Helen (Santaw) Williamson.

He attended school at Bradford Academy and graduated from Hartford High School in 1968.

Mr. Williamson operated Williamson Maintenance in White River Junction for 10 years. He then worked for Bay-Son in West Lebanon, N.H., as a maintenance worker, later for the Lebanon, N.H., and South Royalton schools, and most recently, at Orford (N.H.) Academy. He lived in the White River Junction area before moving to Fairlee.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a submariner from 1969 to 1973.

Mr. Williamson enjoyed hunting, fishing and tennis.

Survivors include his companion, Marilyn Couture of Wilder; a daughter, Christal L. Gile of Andover, Mass.; a son, Barry Williamson Jr. of New London, Conn.; his father of White River Junction; three brothers, Dennis Williamson of White River Junction, Brian Williamson of South Royalton and Kevin Williamson of Bradford; a sister, Donna Williamson of Bridgewater Corners; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother and a brother, Larry E. Williamson.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph Center.

Friends may call Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department Waterbury.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction.

Walter H. Lampert rites

LUDLOW — The graveside committal service for Walter H. Lampert, 81, who died Feb. 18, 2001, was held Thursday morning in Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow with the Rev. Gail Twine of Marshfield officiating.

The eulogy was given by Gary Lazalera of Rutland.

The Robert L. Johnson Post 771, Veterans of Foreign Wars, of Springfield; American Legion Post 67 of Chester; and American Legion Post 36 of Ludlow provided military honors. Elmer Kruse presented the flag to the family. Dave Wyman sounded taps.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.

James A. Rheaume

MIDDLEBURY — James Arthur Rheaume, 59, died June 13, 2001, at Porter Hospital in Middlebury.

He was born Jan. 9, 1942, in Middlebury, son of Clement and Edith (Yadless) Rheaume.

He graduated from Middlebury Union High School.

Mr. Rheaume married Sheila Masterson in March 1968 in Middlebury.

He owned and operated JT’s Rubbish Removal, and was a self-taught mechanic.

He was an avid racing fan, watching NASCAR and traveling to local tracks for racing events.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years; a son, Thomas “TJ” Rheaume of Middlebury; a sister, Linda Plumadore of Moriah, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Robert Rheaume, in 1999.

The memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Sanderson Funeral Chapel in Middlebury with the Rev. Dennis Breton, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiating.

A reception will be held at Gill Little’s Service Center on School House Road in East Middlebury after the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson Funeral Service of Middlebury.

Dr. Everett B. Holmes

Dr. Everett Beeman Holmes, 100, of Rutland, died June 15, 2001, at Mountain View Center Genesis Eldercare Network.

He was born July 29, 1900, in Montpelier, son of Charles and Mae (Greeley) Holmes.

He graduated from Waterbury High School, attended Aurora College and graduated from the University of Vermont Medical College in 1925. He served his internship at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, N.Y.

Dr. Holmes married Hazel Arkley on Sept. 3, 1926, in Waterbury.

Dr. Holmes was a physician in Ludlow for 47 years. He took post graduate work at Harvard and Buffalo Medical Schools, and received recognition from the Post Graduate Medical Assembly for more than 10 years attendance.

He was a member of the Rutland County Medical Society of which he was a past president, and a life member of the Vermont State Medical Society and American Medical Association. He was recently recognized as the oldest living alumnus of the University of Vermont Medical School.

He was a member of the Black River Lodge of Masons, Okemo Chapter RAM, Killington Commandery and Cairo Temple Shrine. He was a 50-year member of the Ludlow Rotary Club and past president. Dr. Holmes directed the United Church choir in Ludlow for more than 30 years, and was an accomplished musician in both instrumental and vocal fields. He was named citizen of the year by the Ludlow chamber of commerce in 1971.

After his retirement in 1973, Dr. and Mrs. Holmes made their home in Rutland, spending the winters in Englewood, Fla.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Bucko of Groton, N.Y., and Judith Cowan of Hinsdale, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Willard of Montpelier and Shirley Mitchell of Hemet Calif.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife in 1998.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to The United Church of Ludlow, in care of the Rev. Podlozny, Ludlow, 05149, or to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tossing Funeral Home in Rutland.

Albert L. Ransom

The memorial service for Albert Lemuel Ransom, 69, of Rutland, who died June 13, 2001, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Amelia C. Pitton, associate minister, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Fund at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, 8 Court St., Rutland, 05701, or Crown Point Road Association, 51 Eden St., Proctor, 05765.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tossing Funeral Home.

Donald J. Taylor rites

The funeral service for Donald J. Taylor, 84, of Rutland, who died June 11, 2001, was held Friday at St. Peter’s Church in Rutland with the Rev. W. Andre Houle, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.

Organist was James Cassarino and vocalist was Peter Muscatello.

Reader was Joanna Paller.

Ministers of the altar were Al Michael Chioffi, James Davidson, Alfred Flory and Robert Tedesco.

The American Legion Post 31 provided military honors. James Burke presented the flag to the family.

Bearers were Cory S. Taylor, Kyle C. Taylor and Jared R. Smith of Rutland and David Paller of Burlington, all grandchildren.

A prayer service was held Thursday evening at Clifford Funeral Home by the Rev. Houle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mount St. Joseph Academy Athletic Fund, in care of Richard Densmore, 85 Mead St., West Rutland, 05777.

Arrangements were under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.

June N. Elias rites

FAIR HAVEN — The Mass of Christian Burial for June Nancy Elias, 72, who died June10, 2001, was celebrated Friday at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fair Haven with the Rev. Richard Tinney, pastor, as celebrant. A private graveside committal service and burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.

Organist was Nancy Wetherby accompanied by the church choir.

A special letter was read by Kai Ranney.

Pallbearers were David Elias of Bergenfield, N.J., Steve Elias of North Clarendon, Leo Micceri of Carmel, N.Y., Tom Elias of Foxboro, Mass., Peter M. Horwedel and Dan Camara, both of Fair Haven.

The vigil service was held Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Mallory Funeral Home by the Rev. Tinney.

The family received friends at the home of Cathy and Roger Ranney in West Haven after the funeral Mass.

Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven.

John B. Romano

OCALA, Fla. — John B. Romano, 87, died June 14, 2001, at Park Place East of Ocala.

He was born in Rutland, Vt.

Mr. Romano was a retired graphic arts photographer.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church in Ocala.

Survivors include a son, Richard Romano of Ocala; two brothers, Francis Romano and Robert J. Romano, both of Rutland, Vt.; and five grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Ocala.
