Oneida Hymn Singers 6:30 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service today at the funeral home. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include her husband, Glen; four sons, Charles Doucette, Glen Basken Jr., Christopher Basken, Jay Basken; three daughters, Tammy Cook, Roberta Doucette, Amber Basken, all of Green Bay; several grandchildren; one sister, Rose Ann Skenandore, Oneida.

Betty Lorene Harris
Betty Lorene Harris, 74, Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church ELCA, 321 S. Madison St. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include three daughters, Diana Harris (Patrick Riley), Patricia Harris (Scott Charles), Kelly (Kevin) Brosig; two sons, Zane (Sharon) Harris, Dean (Carla) Harris; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie (Gary) Derozier.

Arnold E. Rasmussen
Arnold E. Rasmussen, 89, Denmark. Visitation 3-6 p.m. today at Our Savior's Lutheran Chruch, 435 Wisconsin Ave., Denmark. Funeral service 6 p.m. today at the church. Survivors include two sons, Arnold Jr. (Annette) Rasmussen, Stevens Point, Leon (Carol) Rasmussen, Denmark; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Arleen (Wayne) Tennant, Midland, Mich.; two brothers, Norbert (Fran), Milwaukee, Bernard (Marion) Green Bay. Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County R, Denmark, is assisting the family.

Dennis J. Smits
Dennis J. Smits, 50, Pulaski. Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Proko-Wall Funeral Home.

Marion E. Zaspel
Marion E. Zaspel, 83, Green Bay, was called home to her Savior on Sunday, June 20, 2004, surrounded by her family. She was born March 2, 1921, to the late Ernest and Gerda Landt in Coblenz, Germany. She married Norman Zaspel in Milwaukee in 1946 and they would have celebrated 58 years together next month. She taught grade school in Milwaukee and later in Green Bay at Beaumont School. She enjoyed working with children and derived great joy in helping them learn. Marion loved music and played the piano and guitar. She retired from teaching in 1980 and she and Norm spent winters in Florida. She enjoyed collecting sea shells, crafts and making new friends. One of Marion's greatest joys was spending time with her family, especially the littlest members. She still loved reading stories to the children. Marion was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; a daughter and son-in-law, Marguerite and Frederick Van Ark, Suamico; two sons and daughters-in-law, Allan and Dale Zaspel, Madison; Robert and Wendy Zaspel, Green Bay; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Anne) Piotrowski, Rebecca (Patrick) Wescott, Ryne Zaspel; five great-grandchildren, Christy, Alex, Marin, Jared and Jacob; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Daniel Piotrowski.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1167 Kenwood Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. John M. Parlow officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.

A special thank you to Debbie Lange for the years of care she gave Marion and to the ICU at St. Vincent Hospital.

Mom, we will miss you always, but we know you are with the Lord.

Gwen Grace (Gonnering) Roten, 50, De Pere, went home to meet her Lord, Tues., June 15, 2004, following a courageous battle with cancer. Family and friends may call Sunday, June 20, 2004 (TODAY) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Bayside Christian Fellowship, 3475 Humboldt Road, Green Bay. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Arni Jacobson officiating.
