Gertrude M Omholt, 102, Oswego, Ill., formerly of Green Bay.

Mercy A. Picard (Krouse), a Green Bay resident, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2004. Mercy was born on April 2, 1915 in Green Bay, Wis. to John and Mary (DeGroot) Krouse. On October 15, 1936 she married Orlando Picard at St. Willebrord Church. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2004. Mercy spent most of her time taking care of their seven children. She and Orlando were very active at St. Willebrord Church cleaning the parish center, counting money and running the food pantry. Mercy was also a Eucharistic Minister. She was a volunteer for many years at St. Vincent Hospital. Her work years were spent cooking at Oneida Golf Club, The Swan Club, and The Elks Club.

Mercy is survived by her children Nancy (Martin) Steffen, Catherine (Jerome) Kestner, Michael Picard, David (Kay) Picard, Mark (Mary Ann) Picard; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Picard; and a son-in-law, Tom Chulak; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Harris, Jackie (Al) Meyer, Beverly (Robert) DeGroot, Henry Picard and Donald (Jeanne) Picard; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Orlando; her parents, John and Mary Krouse; a son, Robert Picard; daughter, Diane Chulak; grandson, Wes Picard; brothers and sisters, Catherine Krouse, Roy Krouse, Beatrice (Gabe) Leurquin, Lloyd (Gen) Krouse, Ethel Harris, Sister M. Denise, Larry (Betty) Krouse.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Willebrord Church, 209 S. Adams St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Ken De Groot officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff, especially South Wing, at Woodside Lutheran Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Mercy's name.

Edward Sherman Terry
Edward Sherman Terry, 77, longtime resident of Green Bay, died Saturday, November 7, 2004. He was born April 10, 1927 in the Town of Pittsfield to Mildred (Knute) and Sherman Terry. Ed was a hard worker. He enjoyed doing yard work and had worked on the family farm with his grandmother. Later, he worked for many years at BARC Industries. He is survived by his sister, Eileen Pfister, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo Terry and his wife Jean Barrett-Terry, Jim and Sue Terry, all of Green Bay, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Ed Perz and a brother-in-law, Norman Pfister.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., 4-6 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Edward and Isidore Cemetery in Flintville.

The family of Ed Terry wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Cottonwood Center and his advocate, Sandy Olsen for their care and compassion for Ed.

A memorial fund has been established to benefit Cottonwood Center.

Ruth E. Barlament
Ruth E. Barlament, 80, Green Bay passed away on Friday, November 5, 2004 at a local hospital after a short illness. Ruth was born on January 10, 1924 in Green Bay the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora (Helmuth) Scheschi. She was a graduate of Green Bay West High School with the class of 1942. On October 4, 1947 she married Floyd Barlament at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. The couple enjoyed over 45 years together prior to Floyd's death on July 20, 1992. Ruth was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #7534- Duck Creek and the M.O.C.A. Pup Tent #23 Green Bay holding several positions. She greatly enjoyed volunteering her time to help the veterans and was also affectionately known as "Mama Clown". Ruth was an avid sports fan and liked watching Nascar Races , Badger football and was a big Bears fan. She enjoyed traveling, especially the times she went to Nashville. Ruth always had fun shopping and sometimes she would make it an all day affair. She was very active, whether she was working the brat fry at Cub Foods or playing cards with the members from the V.F.W. she always made the most of things. Ruth was extremely dedicated to caring for her family.

Ruth is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Don Johnson; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Mary Barlament, Rick and Jill Barlament, all of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Christine (Bruce) Bowers, Ryan Barlament, Matthew and Wesley Barlament, one great-granddaughter Morgan Bowers; one brother Robert Scheschi. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, one daughter Linda; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Caroline (Bill) Oates, Marie (Ralph) Rybicki; three brothers, Arthur, Norbert and Clifford Scheschi.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2004 at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue. A V.F.W. Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 1224 12th Street. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at the church with Rev. Peter Renard O.Praem officiating. Entombment at The Shrine of the Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Ruth's name.

The family would like to offer a special note of appreciation to the staffs of Saint Vincent Hospital 6th floor ICU and 9th floor for all of the warm care and compassion shown to Ruth.

Christine Loretta Beckwith, 82, Green Bay. Survivors include her sons, Charles and John; sister, Christine (Mrs. George Brunette).

Carla A. Bloomer, 68, Mishawaka, Ind., formerly of Green Bay. Memorial Mass 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Survivors include her husband, Edward; one daughter, Barbara (Dan) Schmitt, Dousman; two sons, Robert (Janice) Bloomer, Elkhart, Ind., David (Christina) Bloomer, Franklin, Wis.; five grandchildren; one sister, Marguerite Stevenson, Del Ray Beach, Fla. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, Ind. 46544, is assisting the family.

Lorraine (Boutin) Bero
Lorraine (Boutin) Bero, 83, Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Parish Wake Service 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Gregg "Desi" Desotell
Gregg "Desi" Desotell, 43, formerly of Green Bay, currently of Colorado, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 8, 1961 in Green Bay to Ronald and Helen (Barrett) Desotell. Gregg attended St. John the Evangelist Grade School and graduated from Premontre High School in 1979. He received his Bachelors Degree from UW-Eau Claire. After college graduation he moved to Colorado where he had been living for the past 20 years. Gregg had been employed as an accountant in the financial industry and most recently had been working as a consultant for PeopleSoft.

He is survived by his 8-year-old son, Brendan Gregory Desotell, the joy of his life, and Brendan's mother, Marie Desotell, Evergreen, Colo. Further survivors include his parents, Ron and Helen Desotell, Green Bay; three brothers and their spouses, Ron and Nancy Desotell, Green Bay, Jeff Desotell and Kim Greco, Brookfield, Tim and Kim Desotell, Green Bay; one sister, Mary Ellen Reed, De Pere; his nephews and nieces, Patrick, Pamela, Scott, Nicholas, Katie, Barrett and Molly Desotell, Breanna and Seth Reed, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clem and Mary Barrett; his paternal grandparents, Oliver and Florence Desotell; and an infant brother, Patrick.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8. Friends may also call at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 413 St. John Street, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 at the church with Rev. Conrad Kratz O.Praem. officiating. An additional memorial service will be planned for the future in Colorado.

Gregg's family wishes to express their gratitude to Gregg's friends and also his co-workers at PeopleSoft in Colorado for their help and support during Gregg's battle with cancer.

In memory of Gregg as a devoted father, a memorial fund has been established to benefit Brendan's education.

Marian G. Ellis
Marian G. Ellis, 88, a longtime Green Bay resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at a St. Mary's Care Center in Madison, Wis. following a long illness. Marian was born on April 29, 1916 in Coleman, Wis., the daughter of the late Nelson and Jen (Fleussus) Le Clair. Marian attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Grade School and was a 1935 graduate of Green Bay East High School. On February 7, 1942 she married A. Richard "Dick" Ellis. They enjoyed over 43 years together prior to Dick's death on June 2, 1985. Marian was a charter member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and at St. Vincent Hospital.

Marian is survived by four sons, Brian (Mary), Germantown, Patrick, Madison, Andrew (Jane), Baraboo, Todd, Boston, Mass.; two granddaughters Kristin and Jennifer; one sister, Virginia Albrecht. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Jeanette (Bud) Ressler, Inez Dennison and Vivian Bachhuber.

Friends may call from 9 - 11a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2004 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Marian's name.

The family would like to express their special appreciation to the wonderful staffs of Rennes Health Center, De Pere and St. Mary's Care Center, Madison for the loving care and compassion shown to Marian during her long stay with them. Richard C. Navarre
Richard C. Navarre, 57, Green Bay. Visitation 5-7 p.m. today at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home East, 2379 E. Mason St. Funeral 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his sister, Joan (Charles) Ritter, Oshkosh; one brother, Roger Navarre, De Pere.

Anthony Michael Smole
Anthony Michael Smole, age 66, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 4, after a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer. Tony was born on October 24, 1938, in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, to Anton and Bertha Smole. His family left their home and arrived in America in 1949 where they settled in Waukegan, Illinois. Tony graduated from North Chicago High School and then attended Marquette University where he graduated with degrees in political science and German in 1961. While in college, he was active in ROTC and Pershing Rifles. He spent the next four years in the US Army serving at the Army Reserve Headquarters in Minnesota, 13 months in South Korea and finally at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was honorably discharged as captain. Tony married Patricia Brown on April 24, 1965, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and the coming years brought them two daughters, Cathy and Susan, who Tony so loved, respected and admired for the beautiful women they have become. Tony spent 35 years with AC Nielsen where he made lifelong friends and served as a teacher and mentor to many. His Nielsen family was very special to him. Tony was the ultimate"fix-it" man and if family or friends needed a tool, Tony probably had it and knew how to us it, too. He enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, gardening and biking. He was a very active member of Resurrection Catholic Parish for 34 years.

Survivors include his best friend and beloved wife of 39 years, Pat, who so lovingly cared for him at home until his death. He is also survived by their daughters Cathy (Jeff) Russ of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Susan (Robb) DeRuyter of De Pere, Wis. "Papa" will be sadly missed by his adoring grandchildren, Ben and Megan Riseeuw and Charlie DeRuyter. Further survivors include his sister-in-law Mary Vukonich and her special friend Jerry Hunter and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his farther- and mother-in-law, William and Breatrice Brown, two brothers-in-law, William Brown and Thomas Brown.

The family wishes to thank Dr. McGovern, the nurses and staff at Green Bay Oncology, as well as the men and women at St. Vincent Hospital valet parking. Thank you also to the Unity Hospice program, especially Barb Boldt and Sally Ann. The overwhelming love, support and prayers of our wonderful friends and family during the past 2 1/2 years are so appreciated and will always be remembered.

There will be a visitation at Resurrection Catholic Parish in Allouez on Sunday, November 7, from 4-7p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, November 8, from 3-5 p.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m. The Rev. Paul Demuth will be the celebrant at the funeral. Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for the benefit of PANCAN, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and the Resurrection Parish outreach program.
