Ralph M. Jacklin

Ralph M. Jacklin, 63, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born to Norman (Gertrude Allarding) Jacklin on Oct. 7, 1937, in West Bend. He married Mary E. Degner on June 8, 1957 at Immanuel Ev. and Reformed Lutheran Church of West Bend.

He was raised in West Bend. After marriage, the couple lived in West Bend. They moved to Milwaukee and came back to West Bend. He was employed at Milwaukee Metal for more than 25 years and retired in 1987. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, pheasant hunting, fishing, camping and auctions.

He is survived by his fiance, Dorothy Wagner of West Bend; four children, Cindy (Daniel) Plzak of Boltonville, Lori (fiance James Conrad) Merget of Adell, Michael (Kelly) Jacklin of Kewaskum and Julie (Scott) Hansen of Rubicon; 11 grandchildren, Jenny, David, John, Brian, William, Jill, Shane, Todd, Stephance, Kandace and Ryan; three sisters, Delores Faber of West Bend, Carol (Marvin) Ruplinger of Kohlsville and Faye (Ralph) Giese of Theresa; one sister-in-law, Rita Jacklin of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

His was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Feb. 8, 1993; two brothers, Norman Jr. and Harold; one nephew, Michael Ruplinger; and one brother-in-law, Leroy "Red" Faber.

Ralph’s family wishes to express a very special thank you to Joann Naumann, Hartland Home Care Hospice and all family and friends who gave their time, love and support during his illness. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Gary Herdrich.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend with Pastor Robert W. Boerner of Northbrook Church officiating. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery of Boltonville at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Visitation will be at the funeral home only on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorials are appreciated.

The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Beatrice Perales

Beatrice Perales of Hartford passed on to a better life at 5:13 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2001 at the age of 53. Beatrice fought a lengthy and courageous battle with brain cancer.

She won her war because cancer was unable to steal her never-ending smile, her passion for life, her love for her family or her faith in God. Bea passed away peacefully with her family at her side.

Her parents would like to thank family and friends for their compassion, sympathy and prayers.

Beatrice was a legal secretary for the Wisconsin Attorney General Office of Consumer Protection for 10 years, and worked at John Deere for seven years and at the Spanish Journal in Milwaukee. She was an active member in the Catholic Church and very involved in community service.

Beatrice worked with the elderly and youth and the less fortunate. She will be deeply missed.

Loving daughter of Pete and Ofilia G. (nee Perez). Dearest sister of Dora (Israel) Acosta of Milwaukee, Peter Perales of Milwaukee, Xavier Perales of Florida, Vickie (James) Nelson of Pardeeville, Chris (Ron) Mantz of Hubertus. Dearest niece of victoria Betancourt of Texas. Dearest aunt of Israel Acosta II, Kristian P. Perales, Elizabeth Perales, Jessica J. (Shawn) Chow, Kaloby Perales, Lincoln J. Nelson, Noah C. Nelson, Jordan H. Mantz and Holdan M. Mantz.

Also survived by uncles and aunts in Gilroy, Calif. and other relatives in Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 9, at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Monday. Interment at St. Kilian’s Cemetery.

Margaret J. Spielvogel

Margaret Julia Spielvogel, 76, of Slinger died Thursday, July 5, 2001 at Sheltered Village of Ripon.

She was born to Rudolph and Mary (nee Drorschacht) Spielvogel July 18, 1924 in Hartford, the community where she was raised. She moved to Slinger in 1995 and was employed at the Threshold Inc. of West Bend as an assembler until June 2001. She resided in several residential facilities along with community living arrangements in Slinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Spielvogel is survived by special friends Karen Esser, Mark Einfalt and Milton Holland, all of Slinger, as well as group home managers Jodi and Brent Wood and family, and Guy and Robyn Legan. Further survived by other care providers and many friends of the Threshold of West Bend.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2001, at Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of Slinger with Deacon Bernie Wendt officiating.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend with interment of ashes at Holy Trinity Cemetery of Kewaskum.

Visitation will be at the funeral home only from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday, July 8, 2001.

Memorials to Threshold Inc. of West Bend are appreciated.

Harriet N. Loebel

Harriet N. Loebel, died peacefully on July 4, 2001, age 79.

A resident of Cedar Ridge Retirement Campus in West Bend, she was the loving wife of Lon; mother of Paul (Cory) and Amy; grandmother of Allie and Kirsten; sister of Dr. Howard (Joyce) Gass; Ruth (James) Hunter and Alice (Harry) Patches; will also be missed by other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Cedar Ridge in West Bend.

Gertrude Eberhardt

A funeral service was held on Friday, July 6, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend for Gertrude Eberhardt (nee Seidensticker), who died on July 3, 2001, at the age of 94. Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiated at the service. Burial took place the next morning at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Mrs. Eberhardt was born Feb. 13, 1907, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (nee Buening) Seidensticker. She married the late Melvin Eberhardt on April 25, 1936, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Survivors include: children Richard (Carol) Eberhardt of Cedarburg, Jean (Ronald) Bentz of Cedarburg; brother Carl (Laura) Seidensticker of Cedarburg; sister-in-law Dorothy Seidensticker of West Bend.

She is further survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Expansion Fund or St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, Newburg, are appreciated.

Sharon K. Teigen

Sharon K. Teigen, nee Thompson, 58, of Whitehall, formerly of West Bend, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at her residence.

She was born on July 29, 1942, in Whitehall to the late Anton and Blanche (nee Anderson) Thompson.

She married Larry Teigen on Aug. 20, 1960, in Whitehall, and they moved to West Bend in 1968.

Larry passed away on Nov. 7, 1979.

Sharon moved to Madison in 1988, where she lived until moving back to Whitehall in April of 1998.

Sharon dedicated her life to serving and caring for others through her work in human services.

She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she studied horticulture, and loved gardening and her strawberry patch.

She also enjoyed going to auctions and listening to Yanni.

Sharon lived for her grandchildren, and she hoped that everyone would remember her sense of humor.

Survivors include three children, Vicki Teigen of New Glarus, Paul Teigen of Las Cruces, N.M. and Peter (Cindy) Teigen of Parkland, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Luke Zancanaro, Rachel Zancanaro, Tate Teigen-Auxier, Paul-Erik Soderquist, Nicole Teigen, Ericka Teigen, Joshua Teigen, Kelsie Teigen, Paige Teigen, Alex Teigen and Elise Teigen; two sisters, Faye (Bill) Gesell of Eau Claire and Nancy (Gerald) Schoofs of Waupaca; four brothers, Allen (Pat) Thompson of Boulder, Colo., Rodney (Ruth) Thompson of Strum, David (Geraldine) Thompson of Birchwood and John (Brenda) Thompson of Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was her stepfather, Elmo Fjeld.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, at noon at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, with burial to follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.

Reinhold R. "Ronnie’ Gildemeister
Reinhold R. "Ronnie’ Gildemeister, 82, of Eagle River, formerly of West Bend, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff.

He was born Sept. 1, 1918, in Lannon.

Ronnie retired from the state of Wisconsin as a security guard for the Wisconsin National Guard in West Bend.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Ronnie served in the U.S. Army in the Fiji Islands during World War II and was a life member of the West Bend VFW.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Norma (nee Redlinger); a son, Mike Gildemeister of Eagle River; a granddaughter, Stephanie; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald Madison of Menomonee Falls, August Gildemeister and Harry "Hans" Gildemeister, both of Milwaukee; three sisters, Bernice Schroeter of Cedarburg, Mildred Haban of Jefferson and Dyann Chouinard of Rockford, Ill.

Preceding him in death were a son, Robert in 1994; two sisters, Viola Lentz and Esther Kaufert; and three brothers, Wilbert, William Jr. and Art.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Eagle River.

Rev. John Anglin will officiate, and burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Eagle River.

Visitation at the church will be Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

The Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River, is assisting the family.
