Meta M. Chase
Meta M. Chase, nee Braun, 92, of West Bend, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

She was born in West Bend on June 10, 1909, to the late John M. and Alvina J. (nee Metzner) Braun, and married Nelson H. Chase on Nov. 9, 1929, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, West Bend.

He passed away on July 28, 1954.

Meta had been employed at the B.C. Ziegler Co. for 34 years as the head bookkeeper in charge of the bookkeeping department until retiring in 1974.

She was a life member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, member of the Women's Guild and Abigail Circle at the church and taught Sunday School for 45 years.

Meta was also a member of the Washington County Historical Society, Cedar Lake Home Auxiliary and the Young at Heart Club.

Survivors include two sons, Lawrence N. (Mary) Chase of West Bend and Ronald W. (Terri) Chase of Genesee, Colo.; five grandchildren, Scott (Therese) Chase, Brian (Lori) Chase, Peter (Stacy) Chase, Deborah (Thomas) Simon and Mark Chase; six great-grandchildren, Erin, Ethan and Jocelyn Chase, Tyler Simon, Ashley and Kory Conrad; a sister-in-law, Elmira Braun of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Alma Wachs and Hildegarde Claus, and two brothers, Marvin J. Braun and Harold C. Braun.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7 .m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ.

Rev. James Eckblad will officiate, and burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to Immanuel UCC, Washington County Historical Society or Cedar Campuses Foundation are appreciated.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service of West Bend is assisting the family.

Dr. J.E. "Julius" Marfy
Dr. J.E. "Julius" Marfy, 81, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee, of complications following heart surgery.

He attended Marquette University where he was elected to Phi Sigma National Honorary Biological Society for his research in radiation genetics and microradiology.

After graduating from Marquette Dental School in 1945, he served an internship in oral surgery at the U.S. Marine Hospital in Detroit, Mich.

Later he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Headquarters London where he served as base oral surgeon from 1954 to 1956. While in England he had a residency in maxiofacial and plastic surgery and Queen Victoria Hospital.

He moved to West Bend in 1973 where he had a private practice and also served as the dentist at the Samaritan Health Center for 25 years before his retirement.

He served as Washington County chairman of Southeastern Wisconsin Health Systems Agency, and was on its review committee and served in other capacities.

In 1985 he returned to his passion, private flying, and was frequently seen at the West Bend airport.

Two of his favorite flights involved island hopping in the Apostle Islands near Ashland and flying over Chicago on the 4th of July looking down at the fireworks.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra; a sister, Marion Young; a daughter, Marjorie Whealon; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Private funeral services were held at the Phillip Funeral Home on Sept. 10.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the charity of the donor's choice.

Ann M. Tietyen
Ann M. Tietyen, 80, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital.

She was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Cologne, Germany, to the late John H. and Martha (Fedder) Bittner, and on Dec. 21, 1940, married Robert A. Tietyen in Port Washington.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, JoAnn (Arthur) Hoffert of West Bend and Nancy (John) Wilkens of Malone; two sons, Robert E. (Jacqueline) of West Bend and Wayne (Gloria) of Saukville; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Ellen (Harvey) Freitag of Saukville; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a brother, Rolf.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Sept. 8 at St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Cremation took place and inurnment of cremated remains was in St. John's Lutheran Church parish Cemetery, Newburg.

The Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac assisted the family.

Alma G. Kahlscheuer
Alma G. Kahlscheuer, nee Werner, 98, of West Bend, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was born Sept. 14, 1902, in the town of West Bend, to the late Henry and Gertrude (Bohn) Werner, and married Raymond H. Kahlscheuer on Nov. 16, 1926, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband enjoyed their yearly fishing trip.

Her husband passed away on May 17, 1967.

Survivors include two sons, Le Roy (Charlotte) of Holiday, Fla. and Joseph (Donna) of West Bend; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Salentine of Brookfield; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a son, Herbert, three brothers and a sister.

She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Father Jeffrey Haines will officiate, and interment will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend.

Visitation at the church only will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Frances Cabrini Church.

The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.

Edna R. Rennicke

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Edna R. Rennicke (nee Hintz) who died on Sept. 10, 2001 at the age of 84.
Visitation was held at the funeral home with burial in Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee. Rev. Pete Peterson will officiate.

Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family.

Mrs. Rennicke was born Sept. 19, 1915 in the town of Granville, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lydia (nee Kaul) Hintz. She has been a long-time resident of Cedarburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmore.

She is survived by her children Carol (Michael) Cochran of Milwaukee and Martin (Diane) Rennicke of Belgium; grandchildren Janice and Michael (Peggy) Rennicke and a great-grandson Carson Rennicke. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.

Ronald W. Deltgen

A funeral service was held for Ronald W. Deltgen, 68, at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield on Wednesday. Visitation was held at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service which was held at 4 p.m. Rev. David Briscoe officiated the service. Burial took place on Sept. 6, 2001, at Zur Ruhe Cemetery, in Cedarburg.
Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family.

Mr. Deltgen was born on Nov. 7, 1932, in Thompson, Ga. He later married Betty (nee Jaeger) in Wauwatosa, on Dec. 8, 1956. They have lived in Cedarburg for 33 years. They attended Elmbrook Church in Brookfield for 18 years.

He was a member of the L.C.C.A. (Lionel Collector’s Club of America). He was also a member of the Train Collectors Association (T.C.A) and was a warranty dealer for Lionel Trains for over 25 years. He also had retired from Fore Way Express, Inc. after having worked in the trucking industry for 33 1/2 years.

Ronnie is survived by his wife: Betty Deltgen (nee Jaeger) of Cedarburg; children Lenn (Barbara) Deltgen of Milwaukee, and Renee Deljon of Berkeley, Calif.; grandchildren Joshua, Dexter and Alexandrea Deltgen, all of Milwaukee; sisters Marsha Koepp of Milwaukee and Sharon Wichman of Milwaukee.

He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials can be sent to Elmbrook Church, 777 S. Barker Road, Brookfield, WI, 53045.
