Gerald R. "Jerry" Richardson
Gerald R. "Jerry" Richardson, 57, of rural Crary, N.D., died on Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at his home.

He was born June 15, 1944, in Milwaukee, to the late Clarence and Virginia (Holdman) Richardson, and was raised and educated in the Milwaukee area.

Jerry was united in marriage to Joan E. Montag on Feb. 22, 1964, at St. Lawrence.

He worked on construction as a mason, working and living with his family in Slinger from 1964-70, then moving to Kewaskum until 1978. From 1978 to 1989 they lived in Tomahawk, moving to Bryant until 1994 when they moved to North Dakota, making their home in rural Crary.

While in Crary, Jerry was self-employed as a mason doing concrete work and road construction in the area.

He belonged to Local Union 113 and the Lions Club while living in Wisconsin.

Jerry loved the outdoors and enjoyed ice fishing and hunting with his two black Labrador retrievers, Buddy and Holly.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Janice Richardson of Minocqua and Jacqueline McEachen of Wausau; a son, Jesse Richardson of Antigo; grandchildren, Kelsey McEachen, Kristy Dahl, Samantha Richardson and Jesse James Richardson; brothers, Thomas of Hilbert and William of Slinger.

Preceding him in death were a brother, James, and his stepmother, Elizabeth.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Sept. 17, at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake, N.D., with John Aerts officiating.

A memorial service will also be held on Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Lawrence.

Thomas G. Kurt

Thomas G. Kurt, 45, of West Bend, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at his residence.
He was born on July 15, 1956, in Madison to the late John and Henrietta (nee Nolden) Kurt, and was united in marriage to Susan Hanson (nee Gamble) on Oct. 19, 1996, in Lodi.

Thomas was a loving man and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife; three children, T.J. Kurt of West Bend, Tasha (Eric) Luther of Fond du Lac and Amber (Anthony) Garza of Montello; two stepchildren, Cheryl Baker of Madison and Tim (Jodi) Baker of California; six grandchildren; five sisters; four brothers; two especially dear friends, Katie and Bear; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend.

The family will greet visitors on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.

Jerome J. Dais

Jerome J. Dais, 79, of Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at his home.
He was born June 22, 1922, in Rubicon, to the late Aaron and Johanna (nee Hauser) Dais, and married Carmen Mueller on Nov. 9, 1946, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Lawrence.

Jerome served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked for P.A. Mueller for many years as an appliance repairman, retiring in 1978.

Jerome was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Kilian Church Church in Hartford and its Holy Name Society.

He enjoyed playing bingo and cards.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Eugene (Florence) Dais of Hartford; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Geneva (Howard) Dukelow; parents-in-law; three sisters-in-law, Adeline, Emily and Patricia Mueller; and a brother-in-law, Clarence Mueller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Father Michael Petrie will officiate, and interment will be in St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery, Hartford.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and on Saturday from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

Memorials to the America Red Cross or St. Kilian Catholic Church are appreciated.

Walter A. "Wally" Stuck

Walter A. "Wally" Stuck, 87, of the town of Farmington, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at the Hartford Care Center, Hartford.
He was born Feb. 22, 1914, in Milwaukee, to the late Walter A. and Erna (Vajarsky) Stuck Sr., and married Frances C. Fischer on Sept. 30, 1933, at Holy Hill, Hubertus.

Following their marriage the couple lived in Milwaukee until 1960 when they settled in the West Bend area.

Wally was employed as a carpenter for over 50 years, working for various contractors in the Milwaukee area.

His wife passed away on Oct. 19, 1982.

Survivors include three children, Stephen Stuck, Richard (Miriam) Stuck and Marilyn Roeber, all of West Bend; nine grandchildren, Thomas (Stacy) Stuck of Germantown, Jason Stuck of West Bend, Jodi Thompson of West Bend, Lisa Roeber of Slinger, Norman (Tina) Roeber of Chicago, Julie (Craig) Konen of Campbellsport, Andy Roeber of West Bend, Sarah Roeber of Denton, Texas and Linda Roeber of Milwaukee; seven great-grandchildren, Brady and Tanner Stuck, Barret Thompson, Jenny Schlosser, Luke Roeber and Kaitlin and Karlie Konen; a sister, Delores (Gene) Murphy of Menomonee Falls; a brother-in-law, Armond Gerkhardt of Hubertus; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law, Norman Roeber.

Wally was a past member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Milwaukee, Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Newburg and the Carpenter's Union Local 264 of Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Father Mark J. DeVelis will officiate, and entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to the Hartford Care Center.

John A. Genova

John A. Genova, 73, of Allenton, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
He was born July 15, 1928, in New York to the late Felix and Linda (Clissa) Genova, and moved to Milwaukee with his family when he was 10 yeas old.

He and his mother owned and operated Genova's Tavern in Milwaukee for over 28 years.

John enjoyed car renovation all his life.

Survivors include his fiancee, Michele Sughrove of Allenton; two daughters, Sharon (Larry) Teufel and Karen (Daniel) Quinlan, both of West Bend; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Jackie) Genova of Brown Deer; a sister, Mary (John) Kehl of Mequon; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Private services were held on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, with cremation at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

Elsie Yahr

Elsie Yahr, nee Peterson, 85, of West Bend, died on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.
She was born July 7, 1916, in Milwaukee, to the late Peter and Margit (nee Mortensen) Peterson, and at an early age the family came to West Bend.

On June 20, 1951, she married Jack Yahr in West Bend.

Elsie was employed at Koehn and Koehn Jewelry Store for many years.

Survivors include her husband; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Yahr of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Florence (Julius) Fassbender.

Jack is abiding with Elsie's wishes that there be no visitation or services of any kind.

Burial of the cremated remains will take place in Washington County Memorial park, West Bend.

The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.
