Ruth S. Grambart
Ruth S. Grambart, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at her home. She was born November 18, 1919 in Bangor, ME, a daughter of the late Fredrick K. and Sara Grinnell Sawyer. Mrs. Grambart was a homemaker. At the request of Mrs. Grambart she will be cremated and there will be no services. Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sonny R. Gower
Sonny R. Gower, age 56, of Sharpe Hospital in Weston, WV died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Sharpe Hospital. He was born April 27, 1952 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Gerald and Helen Ruth Wamsley Gower. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Deborah Wojciki Gower and his second wife Connie Beam Phillips Gower. Mr. Gower is survived by two sons, Sonny Gower, II of South Charleston, WV and Steven Gower of Weston; two brothers, Buck Gower of Taylorsville, NC and Danny Gower of Buckhannon, WV and one sister, Donna Godsave Meadeville, PA. Mr. Gower served with the US Army and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Jeremiah McSweeny as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion and DAV Posts #5 and #36 will conduct Military Honors at the grave site. Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John Harmon George
John Harmon George, age 80, of Adrian, WV, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the home of his daughter in Ellamore, WV while under the care of Hospice Care. He was born December 2, 1927 in Pocahontas County, WV, a son of the late Amos and Ida Mae Burgess George. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Angelene Verna Kenady George, who died in March 1970; his second wife, Elna Christine Glass George, who died in 2006; one daughter, Vickey George and one brother, Dempsey George. He is survived by one daughter, Janet Lantz and husband Robert of Ellamore; one son, John Samuel George of Glenville, WV; two grandsons, Harmon George of Adrian and Erin Pennington of Elkins, WV; one granddaughter, Holly Lantz of Elkins; two great grandsons, Chandler and Riley Pennington, both of Sand Run, WV and one sister, Melvina Hirzel of Buckhannon, WV. Mr. George was a Master Electrician and the owner of Harmon George Electric. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and a lover of all people. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Roger Marshall Gould
Roger Marshall Gould, age 65, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born September 9, 1943 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Basil Marshall and Marjorie Wamsley Gould. On August 12, 1967 he married Janie Miller who survives. Also, surviving are two daughters, Kelli Ann Mick of Buckhannon and Kristi Dawn Burr and husband John of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Haley Burr of Buckhannon; one step granddaughter, Ashley Burr of Buckhannon; one sister, Mary Ellen Crumrine and husband Robert of St. Clairsville, OH; one brother, Terry Gould and wife Donna of Buckhannon; special nephews, Danny Gould and Troy "Buddy" Brady both of Buckhannon and mother in law, Susan Miller of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in law, Ian Christopher Mick; one brother, Frank Gould and one sister, Betty Brady. Roger was a Press Operator for Moore Business Forms and a Baptist by faith. Friends will be received Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 2 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Church Cemetery at French Creek, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sandra K. Goldsborough
Sandra K. Goldsborough, age 56, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born on June 16, 1952, a daughter of the late Charles Simmons and Jean Davis Simmons of Bridgeport, WV. On September 27, 1972 she married William Bill Goldsborough who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Michelle Hinchman and husband Jamie of Buckhannon, and Charlotte Woodson and husband Walter of Bridgeport; one son, Kevin Goldsborough, of French Creek, WV; two granddaughters, Ashley Hinchman of Buckhannon and Tiffany Woodson of Bridgeport; four grandsons, Jonathan Hinchman of Buckhannon, Walter Woodson, II of Bridgeport, Jacob Goldsborough of Buckhannon, and Ethan Goldsborough of French Creek; three sisters, Patty Dick of Bridgeport, Loretta McNeamer and Debbie Simmons both of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Goldsborough was a homemaker and a remarkable wife, mother and grandmother. Friends will be received Friday, November 28, 2008 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with the Reverend Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. William Hazilton Gaunt
William Hazilton Gaunt, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born April 4, 1929 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Emmett J. and Favor Audria Seargent Gaunt. On June 12, 1954 he married Betty Lou Warner who survives. Also, surviving are one son, Barry William Gaunt and wife Twona of Bowling Green, KY; one daughter, Bonnie Lou (Gaunt) Wilson and husband Michael of Bend, OR; step grandchildren, Stephanie, Chad and Corey Morrison of Bowling Green; three sisters, Hazel Mullens and Annabelle Tolliver both of Buckhannon and Fern Stewart and husband Vernon of Canton, OH; two sister in laws, Barbara Gaunt of Gallopolis Ferry, WV and Lucille Warner of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Anthony Gaunt and one brother, Brooks Gaunt. Mr. Gaunt was a manager for Republic Steel and LTV Steel of Cleveland, OH. He was a member of the Tennerton United Methodist Church, the Buckhannon Country Club, and American Legion Post # 7. He served in the Army during the Korean War fighting with the 101st Airborne Division. Friends will be received Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Zickefoose officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Bettie Rae Phillips
Bettie Rae Phillips, age 69, of 3498 Rocky Face Church Road, Hiddenite, passed away Monday March 25, 2013 at her home, after an extended illness. She was born April 30, 1943 in Randolph County, W.V. to the late Edgar Poling and Agnes Heater Poling Perry. She was a retired seamstress for Modern Manufacturing. She was also of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Beckner; three brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by her husband, James S. Phillips of the home; two daughters, Gerry Beckner Parsons of Hiddenite and Jeani G. See of Old Fields, W.V.; two brothers; three sisters; two grandsons; five granddaughters; and two great grandsons. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Friday March 29, 2013 at Poling - St. Clair Funeral Home, 95 S Kanawha St, Buckhannon, WV. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the family cemetery in Queens, W.V. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Thursday at Poling St. Clair Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclar.com. Junior Lonnie Kelley
Junior Lonnie Kelley, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at his home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice. He was born April 20, 1929 in Ten Mile, WV, a son of the late Lonnie and Gertie Reed Kelley. On November 9, 1956 he married Alice Jane Marsh who preceded him in death on March 5, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Junior Kelley; five brothers, Ray, Clinton, Harold, Lloyd and Jefferson Kelley; three half brothers, Burl, Richard and Henry Kelley; two sisters, Freda Tenney and Susanna Landis and one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Kriner Kelley. Mr. Kelley is survived by one daughter, Cathy Tallman and husband Tom of Tallmansville, WV; one son, Randy Pork Kelley of Buckhannon; four granddaughters, Trisha Russell and husband Matt of Cutright Chapel, WV, Brandi Kelley of Penbroke, NC, Kristy Kelley of Buckhannon and Krystal Grebos of Penbroke; three grandsons, Kevin Tallman of Ellamore, WV, Travis Kelley of Fairmont, WV and Roy Brandon Kelley of Buckhead, NC; one step granddaughter, Missy Smith of Buckhannon; one step grandson, Michael Courtney of Buckhannon; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Kelley and wife Pam of Warren, OH; one sister, Sarah Riffle of Buckhannon; two sisters-in-law, Patty Kelley of Buckhannon and Myrtle Kelley of Tallmansville; one daughter-in-law, Linda Kelley of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kelley was a coal miner for Upshur Coals Corporation and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. He loved hunting and fishing. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery at Ten Mile. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John Robert (Jack) Gribble
John Robert (Jack) Gribble, age 79, of French Creek, WV, the Alexander Road, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at his home. He was born July 6, 1929 in Dover, OH, a son of the late Eugene and Wilma Miller Gribble. On October 6, 1984 he married Betty Jean Dixon who survives. Also surviving are two step sons, James Moore and wife Elissa of Bushwood, MD and Ronald Moore of Washington, DC; one step daughter, Wendy Sue Cramer and husband Joe of Lothian, MD; five step grandsons, Ryan and David Moore of Maryland and Jake, Eddie and Billy Cramer of Maryland; step great grandchildren, Haley and Cody Moore of Maryland and Jacob, Jackson, Jacey and Jett Cramer of Maryland; two sisters in law, Carol and Ethel Gribble of Maryland and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and James Gribble; one sister, Donna Tidrick; niece, Susan Gribble and nephew, Mark Gribble. Mr. Gribble was a 34 year member of Stallings-Williams Post # 206 American Legion in Chesapeake Beach, MD and a Gradall Operator for 30 years. He served in the US Navy as a Gunners Mate. He was on the USS Manchester from 1946-1948 and from Oct. 1948 to 1949, on the USS Columbus from Sept. 1951 to 1952 and on the USS Demoies during the Korean War. He received the Victory Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 11 AM 1 PM the funeral hour with Pastor Charlotte Henline officiating. Betty L. Lanham
Betty L. Lanham, age 71, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born May 11, 1940 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late King Harris and Iva Phillips Hersman. On August 5, 1978 she married Leonard Lanham who preceded her in death on March 25, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steven Wayne Dean; one daughter, Sharon (Shreve) Campbell; six brothers and sisters and a step son, Doug Lanham. She is survived by two daughters, Patti Edwards of Buckhannon and Peggy Sue McCowan of VA; one son, Kyle Dean and wife Helen of VA; fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren and three step daughters, Kathy Mollahan of FL, Penny Andrews of OH and Nicole Strother of OH. Mrs. Lanham was a Nurses Aide. She visited the Senior Center and was a lifetime member of the Eagles, Moose and Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the caring staff at Holbrook's Nursing Home. Friends will be received Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the WV National Cemetery at Pruntytown, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jeffrey B. Gray
Jeffrey B. Gray, age 50, of French Creek, WV died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at his home. He was born November 20, 1958 in Butler, PA, a son of Ann M. Kujava Gray who survives of Renfrew, PA and the late Warren M. Gray. On May 4, 1991 he married Catherine Fulghum who survives. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by one son, Tyler Gray of French Creek; one step-daughter, Kimberly Karickhoff and husband Zack of Buckhannon, WV; one brother, Kenneth L. Gray and wife Angela of Alabama and one sister, Tracy Cunningham and husband Michael Spinneweber of Butler. Mr. Gray was a Store Manager for Jerrys Sporting Goods in Flatwoods, WV. Friends will be received Friday, June 12, 2009 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy E. Greene
Judy E. Greene, age 65, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Hospice Care In-Patient Center in Elkins, WV. She was born September 22, 1943 in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of Ruby Lee Edgell Patterson of Buckhannon and the late Wesley Arch Patterson. On July 23, 1960 she married Terry Stuart Greene who preceded her in death on August 1, 1999. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Marsha S. Lee and husband Max R. of Buckhannon and Lisa G. Davidson and husband Harry T. of Ashburn, VA; two grandsons, Nicholas T and Christopher S. Davidson, both of Ashburn; three brothers, Terry Patterson and wife Judy and Bill Patterson and wife Linda, all of Buckhannon and Leanard Patterson and wife Diane of Helvetia, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Greene was a Teachers Aide for thirty years, a member of TOPS and an avid quilter. Her grandsons brought her tremendous joy and she loved them with all of her heart. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home from 12:30 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 15, 2009 with a memorial service at 2:00 PM with the Rev. David Jesse officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice House HC Regional Inpatient Center, 169 Diamond St., Elkins, WV 26241 or the charity of your choice.
