MILLIRON, MURIEL

Muriel Milliron, 85, of Grantsville, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1996, at Charleston Area Medical Center. She was born in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Albert and Carrie Meyers Manis. She was a homemaker and a Protestant. Surviving are two sons, Morris Lee Richards of Grantsville and Keith Milliron of Big Springs; two daughters, Barbara McDonald of Millwood and JoAnn Heiney of Grantsville; one stepson, George Milliron, Jr., of Diamond Bar, Calif.; one sister, Irene Riley of Huntington, Ind.; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Milliron; one daughter, Donna Marshall; one brother, George E. Manis; and one grandson, Gary McDonald. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Kenneth Heiney officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

MILLS, BERNARD M.

Bernard M. Mills, 86, of Parkersburg, formerly of Annamoriah, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wirt County, a son of the late Otis and Rose Richards Mills. He was a retired oil field worker and served as chaplain of Vienna Senior Citizens Satellite for several years. He attended Faith Baptist Church, Vienna. Surviving are one daughter, Levata Lee Wease of Parkers-burg; one sister, Bulah Jones of Salem; two grandsons, Kevin Wease of Annamoriah and Rodney Wease of Lake Washington; three great- grandchildren; one niece; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Arthur Mills; three sisters, Lizzie Simmons, Alvaretta Wilson and Helen Cain; and one brother, Ernest Mills. Services were held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Jim Yoak officiating. Burial was in Hartley cemetery.

MORFORD, JOHN W.

John William Morford, 75, of Vienna, died Thursday, April 18, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late James A. and Margaret Stalnaker Morford. He was audit chief when he retired from the Internal Revenue Service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of Lodge 40, AF&AM, Grantsville. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Frances Hildreth Morford; one son, John W. Morford, Jr., of Procterville, Ohio; one daughter, Margaret Day of Proctorville; one sister, Kathryn Kaiser of Athali, Ohio; two brothers, James Morford of Grantsville, and Dr. Warren Morford of Chesapeake, Ohio; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial was in Rome cemetery, Proctorville.

MORFORD, JOHN, JR.

John W. Morford, Jr., 55, of Proctorville, Ohio, died Wednes-day, Oct. 30, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Spencer, a son of Frances Hildreth Morford of Vienna and the late John W. Morford, Sr. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Patricia Morford; one sister, Margaret Day of Proctorville; two uncles, Warren Morford of Chesapeake, Ohio, and James Morford of Grantsville; one aunt, Kathryn Kaiser of Athalia, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Services were held at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, with Rev. Harold Hamlin officiating. Burial was in Rome cemetery, Proctorville.

MORGAN, CHARLEY

Charley Morgan, 85, of Camp Barbe Road, Elizabeth, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Arnoldsburg, a son of the late Hugh and Lillie Laughlin Morgan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 591st Combat Engineers in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia and Rome Arno. He received the bronze service arrowhead and the European African Middle Eastern service medal with three Bronze Stars. He retired from West Virginia Dept. of Highways sign department after several years of service and was a former employee of Loumis Brothers Concrete Co. He was a lifelong Wirt County farmer, having raised both dairy and beef cattle. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are one sister, Genevieve Ludwig of Elizabeth, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Victor Morgan, Harley Morgan, Sr., and Ernest Morgan; and one sister, Ethel Strong. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev. Robert Stanley officiating, and burial in Knights of Pythias cemetery, Elizabeth, with military rites conducted by Elizabeth American Legion Post 55.

MORGAN, PETER P.

Peter Paul Morgan, 60, of Pleasant Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Oscar R. and Alta Richards Morgan. He was a former employee of Grantsville Tire Shop. Surviving are one brother, Oscar Morgan of Grantsville; one sister, Betty Louise Dunay of New Jersey; two daughters, Mary Louise Finley and Virginia Mae Morgan, addresses unknown; four grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Lawson Whipkey officiating. Burial was in Hunt cemetery, near Big Bend.

MORRISON, LEONARD

Leonard Morrison, 88, formerly of Euclid, Ohio, died Sun-day, Feb. 18, 1996, at Brooke Grove Nursing Home, Olney, Md. He was born in Freed, a son of the late Frank A. and Effie Smith Morrison. He attended Calhoun County schools. He was a retired machine operator from Ford Motor Co., Cleveland, Ohio, and a member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church, Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Surviving are his stepmother, Blondenia Morrison of Grants-ville; one son, Harry Morrison of Newbury, Ohio; two daughters, Leona Facine of Silver Spring Md., and Beverly Herrlinger of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Jeptha Morrison of Parkersburg and J.P. Morrison of Five Forks; three sisters, Wanoka Collins of Freed, Lorranie Haddox of Belleville and Lottie Morland of Parkersburg; one half-sister, Eloise Mullins of Summersville; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Osa Pepper Morrison; two brothers; and one sister. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Ross DeFelice officiating, and burial in Evergreen South cemetery.

MOSS, REBECCA

Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Spaur Moss, 31, of Henry's Fork, Arnoldsburg, died Thursday, April 25, 1996, at her residence. She was born in Roane County, the daughter of Jeanette Henderson Spaur Simons of North Carolina and the late Dale F. Spaur. She was a 1982 Calhoun County High School graduate. She was a teacher for Calhoun Christian Academy, and an employee of B.F. Goodrich and Rubber Crafters. She was a volunteer for Mile Tree Health Care Center, Spencer, and a member of Pleasant Grove Church, Reedy. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Eddy Lewis Moss; one daughter, Holly Moss at home; three sisters, Annette Spaur of North Carolina, Nannette Sampson of Arnolds-burg and Tammy Houchin of Reedy; one brother, Dennis L. Spaur of North Carolina; stepfather, Garold G. Simons, Sr., of North Carolina; three stepbrothers, Garold Simons, Jr., of Spencer, Thomas Simons of Gassaway and Terry Simons of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dennis and Goldie Henderson and Jack and Mary Amick. Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. John Ellison officiating. Burial was in Blessed Hope cemetery, Egypt Ridge, near Spencer.

MURPHY, BIRDIE

Birdie Murphy, 75, of Calhoun County, died Monday, July 8, 1996, at Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Big Otter. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Okey and Lillie McCumbers McCune. She was a homemaker. Surviving are one son, Lee Murphy of Reedy; one daughters Bonnie Laughlin of Arnoldsburg; five grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death -by her husband, Woodrow 'Pud' Murphy; and one grandson, Douglas Murphy. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Amoldsburg, with Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Burial was in Coen cemetery, Nebo.

MYERS, TINA GARNETT

Tina Garnett Myers, 61, of St. George, W.Va., died Friday, May 17, 1996, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born in Nicut, daughter of Ella Gay Bailey Rogers of St. George and the late Gruder Rogers. She lived in Calhoun, Webster and Tucker counties in West Virginia, and Baltimore, Md. She was a Protestant and homemaker. She is survived in addition to her mother by one son, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Vernon Myers of Avondale, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Amanda Lynn Myers and Carmen Paula Myers of Woodbridge, Va.; two brothers, Lester Forest of Baltimore, -Md., and Captain Ford Rogers of Arnoldsburg; two sisters, Artie Jewel Cogar of Webster Springs and Doris Emogene Myers of St. George; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Chester Lee Rogers, July 9, 1968; father, Gruder Rogers, Sept. 8, 1982; husband, Charles Edward Myers, May 9, 1994; niece, Amelia Carman 'Amy' Snyder, Nov. 25, 1994; and a sister, Orva Gay McCumbers, Sept. 27, 1995. Services were held at Greenlief-Combs Funeral Home, Parsons, with Pastor Patrick Cassidy of St. George and Pastor Neil Parsons of Hamilton officiating, with her son Charlie giving a tribute to his mother. Burial was in Piper Mountain cemetery, St. George.

NAYLOR, AVA VIRGINIA

Ava Virginia Naylor, 70, of East Rochester, Ohio, died Monday, Aug. 19, 1996, at Salem Community Hospital, Salem. She was born in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late John G. and Delphia F. Lockard Weaver. She was a former employee of O. Ames and member of Chapel Baptist Church, Nobe. Surviving are seven sons, Frederick Naylor, John Naylor and William Naylor, all of Salem, Paul Naylor, Arley Naylor and Harley Naylor, all of Parkersburg, and Roger Weaver, address unknown; five daughters, Shirley Moore of East Rochester, Phyliss Simmons of Ripley, Mae Cottle of Parkersburg, Lura Naylor of Salem and Patricia Byers of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, John Weaver and Bernard Weaver, both of Nobe; three sisters, Ova Bragg, Mary Yoke and Mae Jennings, all of Nobe; 31 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward N. Naylor; two sons, Michael Naylor and Jeffery Naylor; and one daughter, Thelma Naylor. Services were held at Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Bill Angel officiating. Burial was in Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.
