Survivors: wife, Mary Lee Moore; daughters, Mary Browne and Martha White; sister, Nellie J. Morris; brother, Arthur Delemus; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Guin, Leon R., age 85 of Bessemer, died December 16, 1999. He was a long time employee of U.S. Steel Line Crew where he was fondly known as "Hercky." Family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to Community Fire Development, 300 Greenwood Rd, Adger, AL 35006. Visitation will be Friday, December 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 18, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in the Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel. Survived by: daughters, Sue Patton (Charles), Bessemer, Evelyn Car den (Jerry), Bessemer, Lynette Guin, Pleasant Grove; son, James E. Humphrey, Mrs. Nettie, age 69, of Birmingham, died Sunday, December 12, 1999. She was a member of Thomas Chapel A. M. E. Church. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18, at 12:00 noon at Grey Memorial Chapel, 2512-29th Avenue North, with burial in New Grace Hill Cemetery. Survivors: sons, Tony (Lisa), Kenneth (Shirley) Humphrey, of Birmingham, and Ralph (Darlene) Humphrey of Pensacola, FL; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; loving friend, Lee Wilson; other relatives and friends. Lipscomb, Shaun Dewayne, age 19, of Bessemer, died December 10, 1999. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 18, at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, Brighton with burial in Brighton Cemetery. Rev. W. J. Sankey officiating. Cannon, James B., age 86, of Birmingham, died Tuesday, December 21, 1999. He was a retired School Teacher. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 24, at 11:00 a.m., at Elmwood Cemetery. Survivors: sisters, Sadie Brown of Detroit, MI, Veraniece Wheeler, Sally Ruth Sykes, Minnie Booker, Myrtle Grooms, Lillian Joyce Arm stead and Brenda Nixon, all of Birmingham; brother, Pearles G. Dixon, James T., Jr., age 88, of Birmingham, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999. He was a long time resident of Sandusky. He was retired from U. S. Steel and Westinghouse. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Ireland Dixon and daughter, Jane Gunselman. Graveside service will be Friday, February 19, at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Peggy Sanderford officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 5:30 p.m. for family, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for friends. Survivors: sons, Mr. James T. Dixon, III of Huntsville and Mr. Charles A. Dixon of Pelham; daughters, Mrs. Martha Philippi of Medway, Ma. and Mrs. Mary Sherman of Huntsville; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Ruth McLean of Birmingham and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Oliver of Atlanta, Ga. Daniel, Rev. Dr. Charles Gregory, age 45, of Birmingham, died December 10, 1999. He was minister, caterer, floral designer, and tailor with 20 years of service. He was a member o f First Baptist Church, Kingston and Pastor of Greater Faith Love Holiness Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 18, at 1 p.m. at Purity Holiness Church of God, 2416 30th Avenue North, with burial in Zion Memorial Gardens. Overseer Willie E. Sanders officiating. Survivors: wife, Jeanette Beasley Daniel; daughter, Angelina Marsha Daniel; son, Charles Gregory Daniel, Jr.; mother, Bessie M. Clayton; father, Charlie B. Clayton; sisters, Jean Baker (Grady), Jacqueline Gant (John), and Barbara Ann Smith; brothers, Johnny B. Clayton (Shirlisa) and Rev. Edward J. Clayton (Beverly); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Grey Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Williams, Mr. Franklin D., This Margaret native and Birmingham resident had retired from American Cast Iron Pipe Company after 15 years of service. He was proud owner of Southern Landscapes. Brother Williams was a Deacon and Trustee of First Baptist-Wood lawn and member of Archive Masonic Lodge #75. He was afforded an Honorable Dis charge from the Army and was an active member of the Regal Club. Death occurred on Monday, December 20, 1999 at the age of 65. More than 40 years of memories of a beautiful life will be cherished by t he widow, Velma Stove Williams; children, Veronica G. Delaine and Ronnie (Diosa) Brown; siblings, Onethia (Albert) McClurken, Edward (Mary) Williams, Jr., Gloria (William) Haynes and Rev. Phillip Williams; along with five grandchildren. Funeral is 2:00 Friday at First Baptist - Woodlawn, 261 48th Street North, Birmingham. Rev. O. M. Hoover, III, Officiant. Inhumation will follow at Zion Memorial. Wake is 7:30 Thursday. Calling Hours at Leeds-Unity Funeral Parlor, Thursday 2:00 until 9:00.

Kurtts, Mr. Joe Ray (December 20, 1934-February 17, 1999), age 64, of Midfield, passed away February 17, 1999. Visitation will be Friday, February 18th, from 12:00 until 1:30 P.M. Graveside at Cedar Hill Cemetery will be Friday, February 18, at 2:00 P.M. He is survived by: his son, Mark Kurtts of Bessemer; daughters, Penney Kurtts Fiorella of Vestavia, Jo Ann Kurtts Woods of West Blocton; brothers, James Kurtts of Fley, Ala., William Kurtts of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Mary Sue Kurtts. Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home is directing.

Shirley, Odus John, age 88, entered into eternal rest February 16, 2000. He is survived by loving wife, Melba Shirley of Brookside, Ala.; sons, Randy Shirley (Pam) of Douglasville, Ga., Dan Shirley of Saratoga, Wy., and Daryl Burr (Sharon) of Brookside, Ala.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers; one sister. He served in the United States Marine Corps for seven years, was an employee of U. S. Steel for 38 years, and was a member of Mt. Carmel Church in Oneonta. Visitation will be held Friday, February 18th from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Bell Funeral Home in Forestdale. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19th at 11:00 A.M. at Bell Funeral Home with burial at Bivens Chapel Cemetery in Brookside. Rev. Randy Mahaffey, officiating. Bell Funeral Home in Forestdale is directing.

Duncan, Mavous Elizabeth, age 79, of Mt. Olive, died December 20, 1999. She was retired with Armour Packing Co.; member of Gardendale First Assembly of God. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 22, at Noon from Gardendale First Assembly of God with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Rev. Gary Vance officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Gardendale Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lennis Paul Duncan and son, Larry Paul Duncan. Survivors: grandchildren, Mark Duncan and Debbie Collins; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Alicia, Joshua, Micah, and Anna Marie; sisters, Ann Campbell, Jean Gilbert, Guinda Angle, and Joyce Sloan; brothers, Bill Lang, Jack Lang, Orville Lang, Donald Lang and Jim Lang; several nieces and nephews. Oakwood Memorial Gardendale Chapel directing.

Rutledge, Frankie Lee, 36, of Centreville died February 19, 2000 in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Present Truth Church in Centreville. Burial at the Cooper Cemetery. Rev. Calvin Meadows officiating. Johnson, Joe Q., Jr. age 80, of Birmingham, died Sunday, December 12, 1999. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Ishkooda and also a member of the Deacon Board. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 1999, at 1 p.m. from the church with burial at Carver Memorial Gardens. Survivors: daughters, Maggie Davis, Roxanne, Rhonda, Wanda, and Sharmaine Johnson, all of Birmingham, Rosemary White, New York City, NY; sons, Horace Johnson, Carson, CA; Joe Lee Johnson, Los Angeles, CA and Ulysses Johnson, Birmingham; mother, Mrs. Roxie Jones, Marion, AL; sisters, Jennie Mahan, Marion, AL; brothers Junie, Melvin and David Mahan, all of Marion, AL., Anderson Mahan of Birmingham.
