Madelyn Hardin Tate

Madelyn Hardin Tate, 82, of Selma died Tuesday, June 1.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 4 at the First Baptist Church of Selma with Dr. John Fain and Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Kathleen Mallory Room of the Educational Building of the Church.

Burial will be at the Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba at 2:00 p.m..

Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband, William Woods, Tate, Sr.; her parents, Mary Ellen Darough Hardin and William Brantley Hardin of Sumter County; a brother, Edwin Hardin; and a sister, Kathleen Hardin Null of Hattiesburg, MS.

She is survived by sons William Woods Tate, Jr. of Selma and Nashville, Lawrence Ray Tate of Birmingham, and daughter Diane Tate Blank of Alexandra Virginia; grandchildren Jonas Blank, Jr. of New York City, William Tate, III of Birmingham, Natalie Drake of Cullman, and Jennifer Harrell of Birmingham; a great-granddaughter Ashleigh; a son-in-law Col. Lee Blank; a daughter-in-law Claudean Tate; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Bachman of Atlanta, William Henderson of Camden, John Bell of Gulf Breeze, FL, Bryan Crawford of Livingston, Alex Davis of Thomasville, and Sessions Dickson of Montgomery.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the First Baptist Church and Dr. Park Chittom.

LYNDA GREENE ALLEN

Mrs. Lynda Greene Allen, 62, of Texarkana, AR, originally of York, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Christus St. Michael Hospital.

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thomasville United Methodist Church with Rev Phillip Craddock officiating.

Burial was at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetary near York.

John Robert Glasgow

John Robert Glasgow, 58, of Butler, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004.

Services will be held at Livingston Memorial Gardens in Livingston on Friday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Osgood and Rev. Jim Halliday officiating.

EDWARD MANION ANDERSON

Mr. Edward Manion Anderson (84) of Pascagoula, died Saturday, August 7, 2004 in Pascagoula. He was born April 12, 1920 in Gatesville, Mississippi.

Lloyd Rackley

ECRU - Lloyd Ernest Rackley, 87, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with the Rev. Mickey Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Pontotoc City Cemetery.

Ethel Myrick

TUPELO - Ethel Tubbs Myrick, 55, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, in an automobile accident in Alabama.

She was the daughter of the late William Lloyd and Ethel Lee Gates. She was a member of Red Oak Grove M.B. Church and an employee of Cooper Tire for 20 years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bishop H.L. Coleman Global Pacific Convention Center in Tupelo with the Rev. J.S. Agnew officiating. Burial will be in the Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Verona is in charge of the arrangements.

Charlie C. Weems
WEST POINT - Charlie C. Weems, 82, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. He was born July 22, 1923, in Lexington to the late Eloma Howard Weems and Joe Ruffin. He was retired from the West Point Fire Department after 30 years. He also was a plumber. He attended Free Praise & Worship Center. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He married Evelyn Hurst Weems on Nov. 17, 1945,in Mantee.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point.
Officiating will be Bro. Ben Davis, Bro. Ricky Watkins and Bro. Stan Blaylock, assisted by Bro. Zane Parker.
Burial will follow at West Point Memorial Garden Cemetery.

David Humphreys
NORTHPORT, Ala. - David Eugene Humphreys, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at the DCH Hospital.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He did body and paint work on cars. Services will be on the following weekend.
Pallbearers will be Terry Harbin, Corey Harbin, Mike Harbin, Mack Langley, and Steven Crawford.
