George E. Daniels
George E. Daniels, age 47, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the Christus St. Michael Heath System in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born January 6, 1963 in De Queen. He graduated from De Queen High School in 1981; he was a paperboy for the De Queen Bee, a former employee of Brooks Grocery Store, Lewis Food Center, Weyerhaeuser for 15 years, Pilgrims Pride, Sears, Fred’s and Poulan. He was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church where he was Chairman of the Deacon Board.
George was preceded in death by his father, Henry Earl Daniels and his grandparents.
He is survived by one son, Carter Daniels of Idabel, Oklahoma; his mother, Irene Daniels of De Queen; three brothers, Ronald "Redbone"(Vevica) Daniels and Douglas Daniels all of De Queen and Charles Daniels of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Kathryn "Missy" Daniels, Sandra "Sassy" Daniels and LaDonna "DeeDee" (Mitchell) Morris, all of De Queen; five aunts, Thelma Lee, Gerldine Desmond and Jane McCoy all De Queen, Julia Holman and Birley Gregory both of Houston; a special friend, Trent Nelson; 7 nieces, 6 nephews, 2 great nephews, 1 great-niece and a host of friends and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2010 in the New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Robert G. Nance, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery
under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 18th at the funeral home.
Douglas Eugene Young
Mr. Douglas Eugene Young, age 83, a resident of King, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1927 in Horatio, Arkansas. He was a retired teacher at De Queen Elementary, a member of the First Assembly of God Church in De Queen, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday school, he was a member of the Gideon’s and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Lee and Maggie Mignon Mills Young; two daughters, Karen Taylor and Susan Young; one brother, Oscar Lee Young, Jr.; one sister, Lorece Barnhill and one great-grandson, Austin.
He is survived by his wife, Flossie Butler Young; one son, Donavan Douglas Young; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Darrell Payne, all of King; his adopted daughter, Stephanie Campbell; one brother and sister-in-law, Jessie Earl and Sharon Young of Nashville, Arkansas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donnie and John Kiser of Rockwall, Texas and Ilene and James Carol of Ola, Louisiana; three grandchildren and their spouses, Sharrell and Jeremy Pearce, Aliesha and Tim Thornton and Nicholas and Jamie Payne; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Quinton, Chase, Payne, Lakin and Luke and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Young will be held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ray Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillham Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 17th at the funeral home.

Betty Hall Southworth
Mrs. Betty Hall Southworth, age 80, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in the Howard Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1930 in Hope, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Southworth was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene B. Hall and Eunice Jones Hall and her step-mother, Louise B. Hall
She is survived by her husband, Wallace Southworth of De Queen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynna Carin and Scott Sharp of Ocean, New Jersey, Jill Ann and Tom Stables of Derby, Kansas and Jennifer Lee and Todd Everheart of Arlington, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, John B. and Rita Hall of LittleRock, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, ryan Sharp, Lauren Sharp, Collin Stables, Jordan Stables, Aaron Stables, Zachary Everheart, Sara Everheart and Joshua Everheart.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Southworth will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grant Grove officiating. Burial will follow in the Redman Cemetery.

Jo'l Eddi Simpson Belleville
Mrs. Jo'l Eddi Simpson Belleville, age 52, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, September 11, 2010 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born April 19, 1958 in Gouverneur, New York.
Mrs. Belleville was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Leon and Phyllis Lynn Ramont Simpson.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Edward Belleville of De Queen; one son, Nathan Sill of California; two daughters, Emily Sill of California and Katie Holste of Georgia; one brother, Mark Simpson of Virginia and one sister, Linda Simpson of California.

Sarah Marie Talley Taylor Denton
Mrs. Sarah Marie Talley Taylor Denton, age 63, a resident of Longview, Texas died September 14, 2010 in Horatio.
She was born October 4, 1946 in Horatio, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Williamson Community Church in Horatio.
Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Rachel Irvan Talley; one brother, Wayne Talley; and a sister, Shirley Gill.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell Denton of Longview, Texas; the father of her children, C.W. “Buddy” Taylor of Horatio; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda and Donnie Cobb of Horatio and Deborah Taylor of Texarkana, Texas; one step-son, Charles Denton and his wife, Sharon of White Oak, Texas; one step-daughter, Terry Reel of Weatherford, Texas; two brothers, Larry Talley of Tyler, Texas and Kenneth Talley of De Queen; two sisters, Donna Mitchell of Horatio and Louise Lay of Atlanta, Texas; ten grandchildren, Taylor Pickering, Brooke Cobb, Jesse Blaauw, Jake Blaauw, Jarrett Brewer, Charles Denton, Jr., Ryan Denton, LJ Reel, Justin Denton and Brittany Arizola and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Denton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 in the Williamson Community Church with Rev. Jimmy Roden officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15th at the funeral home.
Melinda Kay Bryles
Melinda Kay Bryles, 43, of White Hall, died Sunday, September 12, 2010, at her home after an extended illness.
Melinda was born August 6, 1967, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Floyd and Ima Jean Kitchens Walker. She was reared and received her education in De Queen, Arkansas where she graduated from De Queen High School. She graduated from Cossatot Vo-Tech, earning a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She also attended the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri.
She was a breeder of Bengal cats and continued to enjoy the company of her cats until her death. A very strong advocate of children’s rights, she was very involved in donating to a variety of charities, sponsoring six children throughout the world.
Melinda was a member of Pine Bluff First Assembly of God Church. Her Christian faith was very strong and among many things she did to demonstrate that faith was that she had been on a mission trip to Haiti.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Scott Bryles, who she married June 24, 2000 in White Hall; two sons, Andrew Ross Craig and Daniel Ben Craig, both of White Hall; and a sister, Floy Jean Driscoll of Ocean City, New Jersey, her grandfather Earl Mangold of DeQueen.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Walker.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Robinson's.
Funeral services are Thursday, September 16, 2010, 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Gary Bell officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Mt. Ida Cemetery
in De Queen.

Mary Mildred Brake Wilkison
Mary Mildred Brake Wilkison was born December 13, 1920 in rural Sevier County, Arkansas. She passed away on August 27, 2010, in Baytown, Texas.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Brake Wilkison and his wife Shelly, of Liberty Hill, Texas; Kyle Grant Wilkison and his wife Debra, of Plano, Texas; Five grandchildren, Jenny Padget, Fate, Texas; Mitchell Leathers of Royce City, Texas; Birk Wilkison, San Antonio, Texas; Claire Wilkison, and Katie Wilkison of Liberty Hill, Texas. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and three brothers, Floyd Brake, Harlan Brake and Darrell Brake and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Bessie Brake, and her father, Arthur Wade Brake, as well as two sisters, Elsie Bogan and VilaSloan, and brothers Amos, Calvin, Dub, and Donald Brake.
Ms. Wilkison spent her life in the service of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As an independent evangelist and missionary she traveled to all the continents of the world, all 50 states of the U.S. She delivered bibles and clothes to impoverished people everywhere using the opportunity to witness and share her faith.
Funeral Services for Ms. Wilkison will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Royal William "Jodie" Krantz
Mr. Royal William "Jodie" Krantz, age 88, a resident of Dierks, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in the Dierks Health and Rehab Center.
He was born January 26, 1922 in the Burg Community in Howard County, Arkansas. He was retired from the construction business and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Krantz was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Margaret Lou Davis Krantz; one son, Bobby Krantz; five brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by one son, Michael Krantz and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Krantz will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the Burg Cemetery
with Scott Kitchens officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Justice Marie Norwood
On January 30, 2008 Justice Marie Norwood, a little redhead full of fire came to this earth. Soon we would find out that she was born with a broken heart. God would take her hand and a miracle took place. The world’s greatest heart doctor with hands blessed by God repaired Justice’s little heart. Every one that she met along the way was amazed at the strength, joy and courage of our tiny opera singer. Music was the center of Justice’s life from the start. Anyone who saw our little redhead smile had no choice but to smile as well. If ever God placed a child on this earth to light up people’s lives, Justice was that child. We have always called her our firecracker; beautiful, amazing to watch, and explosive.
Justice lived her life as we all should, as if noting could ever stop her. Love and kindness was her every moment. She loved her sister more than anyone. On Justice’s last day she smiled and her courage was for her Mother and I. God took away all her pain, her illness, and all of the worldly things she suffered from. She runs in the grace of God playing, dancing and never will she get tired again. Our Father in Heaven holds her in his arms as we did on earth. Justice smiles down on us from Heaven. Our flower planted in heaven to make it beautiful. We miss you and will join you in Heaven in due time.
She is survived by her parents Jeremy and Chrissy, three brothers, Cameron, Darren and Hayden Norwood all of Horatio, and one sister, Liberty, "Libby" Norwood of Las Cruses. Also surviving her are her maternal grandparents, Karen and Billy Landers of Las Cruces and Leonard and Debra Van Valkenburg of Waterville, Maine; Maternal great grandmother, Myrtle Dell Hanson of Las Cruces; Paternal grandparents, John and Jeanie Norwood of Lockesburg, Arkansas; paternal great grandmothers, Lilly Norwood of De Queen, Arkansas and Beverly Ann Mills of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Justice is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2010 in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
