Donald “Don” John Meek

Donald “Don” John Meek, 85, of Horeshoe Bend passed away Thursday, February 10, 2017 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was born in St Louis, MO on April 26, 1931, son of Anna (Ducheck) and Clarence Meek. He married Virginia Sandell on Oct 16, 1958 at Webb AFB chapel in Big Spring TX. Don was a Korean and Viet Nam war veteran retiring as a USAF Lt Col pilot after 21 ½ distinguished years. He retired as auto sales finance manager in 1994 when he moved to Horseshoe Bend, AR to enjoy his retirement years.

Don was an inventor receiving a US patent for 3d-paper airplane models. He was a writer authoring the book “7 War Stories”. He was an engineer designing and supervising the Horseshoe Bend Wall OF Honor military war veteran memorial.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Meek of Horseshoe Bend; son Richard (Waree) of Sacramento CA, Steve of Charlotte, AR, ; Cal (Patricia) of Batesville, AR; sister LaVerne Jones of Kansas City, MO; and 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Anna Meek, and brother Allen Meek.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, Feb. 23rd at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home in Sherwood, AR; Bro. John McCullough officiating. Military honors burial service to follow at 1pm at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to John 3:16 Ministries of Charlotte, AR.

Rodney Alan McComas

Rodney Alan McComas, 67, of Bentonville died Friday, February 10, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center located in Bentonville. He was born September 22, 1949 in South Charleston, West Virginia the son of Jack and Betty McComas.

He was employed with the Benton County Clerk’s office for over 5 years. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 10 years after moving from West Virginia.

Survivors include: three brothers; Richard McComas and wife Lisa of Fayetteville, Greg McComas and his significant other Dennis Miller, of West Virginia, and Jeff McComas and his wife Tina, of West Virginia.

A celebration of Rod’s Life will be at the Springdale Moose Lodge and announced at a later date by the family.

Randy Laverle Weddington

Randy Laverle Weddington, 66, of Eureka Springs died Sunday, February 5th. He was born July 20, 1950 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

He enjoyed writing, reading, and playing on the computer. He was a film critic and a journalist for many years.

Survivors include: his Lifetime Companion; Jackie Weddington, of Eureka Springs, half-brother; Preston Casey, of Gateway, half-sisters; Evening Star Walden, of Gateway, Glenda Walden, of Eureka Springs, Rhonda McCormick, of Seligman, Missouri, his aunt; Laverne Welch, of Gateway, and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time.

John Victor Barrett

John Victor Barrett, 81, of Cicero, New York died peacefully surrounded by family Friday, February 3, 2017 at a care facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born February 20, 1935 in North Tonawanda, NY to James and Katie (Brown) Barrett. As his father suffered from blindness, John started working at an early age to help provide for the family. This helped to define both his strong work ethic and frugality. He had the rare talent to make or fix almost anything, whether it be a car, washing machine, home or airplane. After serving in the Air Force, this led him to a career as a field engineer for GE and later Honeywell, where he troubleshot and fixed early mainframe computers.

John enjoyed spending time with family, tinkering, building things, aviation, downhill skiing, the Buffalo Bills, and always had trouble passing up a good deal. Helping others was a cornerstone of his life, he was always happy to lend a hand however he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother James. John is survived by his wife Dauryne (Haas) Barrett; son, Patrick Barrett (Stephanie); and grandchildren Colin and Piper, of Bentonville, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held on April 29th in Syracuse, NY. For further information contact johnbarrettmemorial@gmail.com

Tina Ryan

Tina Ryan, 47, of Farmington died Thursday in Fayetteville. She was born November 21, 1969 in San Bernardino, CA to Billy Montgomery and Dottie Graves.

Tina, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, is survived by her husband, Tim Ryan; her parents; son, Travis; daughters, Tiffany and Tonya; brothers: Mike, Billy, Donnie, and Brandon; sisters: Kandie and Mikkenna; grandchildren: Hunter, Colton, Trey, Kylie, and Zoey.

Norman Gotha Eason

Norman Gotha Eason, 87, of Rogers died Thursday, February 02, 2017 at a local skilled care center. He was born July 16, 1929 in DeWitt, Arkansas the son of Velma Jones and Basil Eugene Eason Sr.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, spending quality time with his grandchildren, and eating catfish.

Norman is survived by: one son; Rodney Eason and his wife Jeanie, of Bella Vista, one daughter; Marcella Hagan and her husband Jimmy, of Rogers, 2 sisters; Pat Hayes Williams and her husband Leonard, of North Little Rock, Joyce Boyd, of Searcy, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be: Saturday at 11am at Northwest Assembly located at 301 SW Unity Blvd, in Bentonville. Interment was at Springtown Cemetery.

Anna Lou Dickey

Anna Lou Dickey, 81, of Rogers died Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 24, 1935 in Calvin, Oklahoma the daughter of Lilly May Baker and Marion Horton.

She loved spending quality time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed painting pictures, writing history books about her family, going camping, four-wheeling, loved spending time in the outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son; Alfred Randall Dickey, her husband of 60 years Donald W. Dickey, five brothers, and three sisters.

Anna is survived by: one son; Danny Dickey and his wife Margaret, of Rogers, three brothers; Jack Horton and his wife Marianne, of Orlando, Florida, Damon Horton and his wife Charlotte, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Albert Horton and his wife Phyllis, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two sisters; Rosie Jost and her husband Irvin, of Evansville, Indiana, Nadine Eastman and her husband Ray, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four grandchildren; Terry Dickey and his wife Gina, Jeff Dickey and his wife Carrie, Bobby Dickey and his wife Alicia, Randy Dickey and his wife Ashley, seven great-grandchildren; Elizabeth, Wyatt, Claire, Jaimie, Hunter, Weston, and Beau.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 5-7pm at Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10am at Southside Church of Christ located in Rogers with Paul Woodhouse officiating. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park.

Pallbearers: Jeremy Ruttan, Tom Bennett, Eric, O’Neill, Joey Dickey, Gary Medley, Rick Lockridge, Seth Forgey, and Jim Jones.

Memorials may be sent to: Children’s Hospital of Arkansas located in Little Rock.

Melissa Kay Watson

Melissa Kay Watson, 58, of Bella Vista died Sunday at Circle of Life Hospice House. She was born December 30, 1958.

Survivors include: friends; Sara Tharp and her husband Bill, of Gentry, and Lynn Raymond and her husband Louis, of Missouri.

Hurley Eugene Webb

Hurley Eugene Webb, 82, was born November 11, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; to Eugene Amos Web and Jennie Martha Webb and went to his Lord and Savior September 1, 2017 while in the loving care of Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

He served his country proudly in the US Army; 10th Mountain Division during the Korean War Era and returned to attend Baylor University in Waco, Texas; worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for many years, was an entrepreneur and retired cattle rancher.

Survived by his wife of 50 years; Sue Webb of Rogers; two sons; Anthony Webb, of Bentonville, Ted Garrett, of Gravette, two daughters; Diana Dum of Victoria, Texas, Kathleen Garrett, of Victoria, Texas, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sister; Mary Lee Burchardt, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held to Honor and Remembrance at Chapel of the Creeks in Rogers, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers a donation to Circle of Life Hospice or Alzheimer’s Institute can be made.

He will always be remembered and loved as a true patriot and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend.
