James “Jim” W. Maddox

James “Jim” W. Maddox, 76, of Sulphur Springs passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born October 24, 1940 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri the son of Dena Lucille Sparkman and Deloy Floyd Maddox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Tom Maddox, one brother, and one sister.

Jim is survived by: his wife Ada Lee Maddox, whom he married November 22, 1962, four sons; James “Kin” Maddox and his wife Joanna, of Springdale, Kurt Maddox and his wife Dawn, of Gravette, Tony Maddox and his wife Charity, of Rogers, Jaymon Lee Maddox and his wife Kayla, of South Carolina, two daughters; Kelley Lovelady and her husband Mike, of Hot Springs, Tasha Gibson and husband, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Tom's wife Brenda of El Dorado AR. One brother; Jack Maddox and his wife Karyl, of New Mexico, one sister; Nancy Morris, of New York, 30 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

His life's work was one of service to others, a pastor for over fifty years, and a school teacher and guidance counselor for 30 years. He was a loving father who loved gardening, singing, painting and talking to everyone he met.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 26th from 5-7pm at Epting Funeral Home in Gravette located at 209 2nd Ave SW.

The Funeral service will be at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 27th at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Butler Creek Cemetery.

Charlene Marie Hare

Charlene Marie Hare, 59, of Decatur, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at her residence.

Preceded in death by: her parents and her sister.

Survivors include: husband; Jake Hare, son; Josh Hare, daughter; Shannon Hare, brother; Martin Burkhart, and a half-brother; Leland.

Mary Elaine Gendusa

Mary Elaine Gendusa, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice House of Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born August 30, 1947 in Evanston, Illinois the daughter of Michael and Myrtle Gendusa.

Mary was a resident of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin for 42 years. She was employed during that time in healthcare and childcare before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and two-step sisters. She was the beloved niece of Father Tony Gendusa.

Mary loved spending quality time with her friends and their children. She always had a true love for animals and putting others needs before herself. She had a kind and caring soul that touched so many hearts and will be truly missed by many.

Lenard Reid Ruby

Lenard Reid Ruby, 79, of Rogers died Monday, September 18th in Rogers.

He was a lawnmower mechanic.

Survivors include; three sons; Jimmy Ruby, Ricky Ruby, Gary Ruby, four step-daughters; Pat Bruce, Vickie Hubbard, Twyla Garver, Marilyn Terry, and sister; Bobbie Scott.

Waylon Glen Stracener

Waylon Glen Stracener, 61, of Rogers died Sunday September 17, 2017, at his residence. He was born February 4, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico the son of Ruby Marker and Cecil Stracener.

He was employed by Tyson Foods for over 32 years, most recently he served as their groundskeeper, he had worked many miscellaneous areas with Tyson over the years.

He loved spending quality time with his family and friends, and taking walks in the outdoors and on his property. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 1972 after moving from Bakersfield, California.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, and many extended aunts and uncles.

Waylon is survived by: his wife; Dawn Stracener, whom he married October 10, 1998, three sons; Vishnu Dass (Blake Moffitt) of Hawaii, John Reed of Gentry, Jeff Reed and his wife Melissa, of Siloam Springs, four daughters; Melanie Myers and her husband Cory, of Rogers, Sarah Huntsman and fiancé Aaron Allred, of Garfield, Heather Holzkamper and her husband Phil, of Rogers, Amanda Hartson, of Rogers, two brothers; Vince Stracener and his wife Linda, of Florida, Randy Webb, of Texas, sister; Gail Hasselbach of Colorado, four nieces, one nephew, two great-nieces, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Waylon’s life will be: Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2-9pm at Waylon’s residence.

Memorials may be sent to: The Rogers Humane Society.

Robert Lee Irvine

Robert Lee Irvine, 82, of Bentonville died Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville. He was born October 19, 1934 in Bowling Green, Missouri the son of Mary and Ralph Irvine.

He was a handyman for many years.

Survivors include: his wife; Margaret Irvine, of Bentonville, three children; Donald Irvine and wife Rebecca, of Bella Vista, Sue Romero and husband David, of Texas, Doug Irvine, of Bentonville, two siblings; Francis and Henry Irvine, of Missouri, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be announced at a later date by the family.

Pauline Nickell

Pauline Nickell, 96, of Farmington passed away Saturday, September 16 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. She was born February 26, 1921 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to James and Dollie (Wages) Oliver.

Pauline was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, and a member of Baptist Ford Church in Greenland. She enjoyed quilting, and was known for her pies and loving spirit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buron Nickell; her parents; three brothers: William Oliver, Jerry Oliver, and Jack Oliver; one sister, Eula Cleda Fong; and one grandson, Christopher Teddleton.

Survivors include her son, Marshall “Ted” Teddleton (Diane) of Wisconsin; her daughter, Carolyn Donoho (Lowell), of California; two brothers: Manford Oliver (JoAnn) of California and Carl Oliver of California; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven great-step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be Monday, September 25 at 10am at Baptist Ford Church in Greenland, with Interment to follow at Nickell Cemetery.

John “Shane” Sluyter

John “Shane” Sluyter, 53, of Bentonville Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Saturday September 16th 2017. He was born June 11th 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He loved all of his children. He was a Christian and loved to pray the Lords Prayer. To the very end he would gather those with him to say the Lords Prayer. He was a golden gloves champion. He was an Army Post Light Heavy weight champion at 178lbs, winner by way of KO. He had a great love for horses and won multiple national calf roping championships. He also had a love for dancing, particularly break dancing, which he taught and danced at his daughters weddings.

He is survived by his wife Joy; his children: Samantha Russo, Zac Sluyter, Tricia Roell, Jessica Mizerski, Megan Sluyter, Caitlin Beckham, Blake Sluyter, Aubrie Sluyter, Kylee Sluyter, Morgan Sluyter, and fifteen grand children, his mother Patricia Sluyter, and his siblings: Ronald Sluyter, Kenneth Sluyter, Trella Wilson, Kirk Sluyter, Aaron Sluyter, Charles Sluyter, Ben Sluyter, and Sara Glanton.

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth W Sluyter and his sisters Patricia and Kathy.

The funeral will be 3pm Tuesday, September 19th, at C7 Church, 2003 Southwest Regional Airport Rd. Rob Williams will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwassee, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Monday September 18th at C7 Church.
