Donald Lee Wood

Donald Lee Wood, age 72 of Bentonville, Arkansas went home to his Heavenly Father on October 31, 2017 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville after a lengthy battle with cancer. Don was born December 24, 1944 the son of Dock Ray and Nancy Lea Wood. He married the love of his life, Brenda Diann Khilling on June 3, 1965. Their marriage of over 52 years was blessed with two daughters, Heather and Holly, and a son, Donald Lee Wood, Jr.

Most important to Don was his family. He was a wonderful, generous, loving, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his time with his family, and was extremely proud of their accomplishments and achievements. He loved outdoor activities, especially fishing and camping. Don worked his entire career as a printer and owned his own small printing business for over 25 years, retiring in 2013. He was a Christian, having been saved and baptized as a young man. He and his wife, Brenda were active members of Boundless Grace Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas.

Don will remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Brenda of the home; daughter, Heather Jennings of Baldwin, Wisconsin; daughter, Holly (Jeff) Haak of Bentonville; son, Donald Lee (Sara) of Gunnison, Colorado; grandchildren Emily Jennings, Emmett Jennings, Whitney Haak, Alex Haak, Woodrow Murray, Hunter Wood, and Braden Wood; sisters Lena Bates and Christine Amos; brother Bob Wood; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Boundless Grace Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas.

Gertrude "Trude" Grosshuesch Cobb Swift

Gertrude "Trude" Grosshuesch Cobb Swift of Rogers, born December 6, 1923, to Calvin and Alice Kuhlman Grosshuesch, died October 28, 2017.

Trude grew up in Klemme, Iowa. She was a nurse for 25 years following graduation from Deaconess School of Nursing in Marshalltown, Iowa. She lived in Rogers for 50 years and was a charter member of First United Methodist Church.

Trude was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Cal, Ozzie and Ed and 2 husbands, Cecil Cobb and Charles Swift. She is survived by her brother Ruben, step-daughter Cecilie Mattison and granddaughters Lindsey and Annie.

Memorial service Wednesday, November 1, First United Methodist Church, 307 West Elm, Rogers at 1pm.

John Thomas Naples

John Thomas Naples, 47, of Bentonville died Friday, October 27, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 26, 1970 in Buffalo, New York the son of Barbara and Richard Naples.

He enjoyed coaching youth sport of football and baseball with the Bentonville Boys and Girls Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 10 years after moving from Chicago. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include: his father; Richard Naples, of Florida, three brothers; Carl Naples and his wife Cynthia, of North Carolina, Gino Naples and his wife Amy, of Bentonville, Marc Naples and his wife Steffanie, of Bentonville, one sister; Lisa Williams and her husband Charlie, of Florida, and nieces and nephews.

Nancy Laney Kendrick

Nancy Laney Kendrick, 80, of Rogers passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born February 19, 1937 in Jefferson City, Missouri the daughter of Elsa and Howard Laney.

Nancy is survived by three sons; Marty Kendrick of Iowa, Lee Kendrick of Little Rock, Mark Kendrick and his wife Rachel of Florida, one daughter; Mylynda Kendrick of Virginia, one sister; Doris Grigg of Rogers, two nieces; Amber Boxberger, of Centerton, Cherann Daulton, of Rogers, two granddaughters; Devon Kendrick MD, Shiloh Kendrick, two great-grandchildren and many loving family and friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Lucy Marie Jorgensen

Lucy Marie Jorgensen, 63, of Springdale died Thursday, October 26, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 24, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Mildred J. Swortwood and Hjalmar Jorgensen.

She was employed with Copeland's for over 10 years and Fred's Hickory Inn for 6 years. She loved spending quality time with her family and her dog Scooter. She was preceded in death by: her father and one brother.

Lucy is survived by: her mother; Mildred J. Jorgensen, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, two sons; Davis Draper and his wife Erin, of Camdenton, Missouri, Dustin Draper and his wife Michelle, of Gainesville, Virginia, one daughter; Judianne Doyle and her husband Ricky, of Bethel Heights, two brothers; William Jorgensen and Thomas Jorgensen, both of Kansas City, and 12 grandchildren.

A celebration of Lucy's life will be announced at a later date by the family.

Connie Elaine Westover Dickerson

Connie Elaine Westover Dickerson, 74, of Rogers died Thursday, October 26, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 27, 1942 in Rogers the daughter of Margaret E. Westover and William F. Westover.

She was a homemaker. She was a lifetime resident of Rogers. She enjoyed making jewelry. She loved many arts and crafts. She and her husband traveled many places, both domestic and foreign. She was preceded in death by: her parents and one brother.

Connie is survived by: her husband; Samuel B. Dickerson, whom she married December 23, 1961, two sons; Britton Dickerson and his wife Patricia, of Rogers, Daniel Dickerson, of Rogers, two daughters; Tess Roche and her husband Bob, of Avoca, Rebecca Williams and her husband Charles, of Rogers, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial of Connie’s Life will be announced at a later date by the family.

Jeff Elder

Monday, October 23, 2017, Jeff Elder, age 56, passed away in his home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Jeff was born to Thomas and Loraine Elder in Rogers, Arkansas in 1961.

He was divorced with no biological children. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Elder (Rogers, AR), his mother, Loraine Elder (Manassas, VA) and his sister, Amy Small (Manassas, VA), his grandmother; Dorothy Sexton. Jeff also leaves behind 6 nephews and 6 nieces who loved him very much. Also he is survived by: his step-daughter; Melissa Hardy, and his step-grandchildren; DeVante’ Hardy and Je’Naya Hardy. He is going to be missed greatly by those that knew him the most.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Friday at Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Graveside service will be at 10am Saturday at Tucks Chapel Cemetery.

Candace Jo Smart

Candace Jo Smart, 35, of Fayetteville died Monday, October 23, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 30, 1982 in Fayetteville.

She had formerly worked in Optical Production.

She is survived by: her mother, two sons, one daughter, and one brother.

Elnora "Kay" Taylor

"All things beautiful are not seen or touched, but felt with the heart"

Elnora "Kay" Taylor of Gentry, Arkansas left this world on October 18, 2017 to meet her Creator. She was born in Lakin, Kansas to Ray and Jake Walker on September 22, 1939.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ron and Stan Walker, her daughter Geri Taylor and granddaughter Jamie Steward.

She is survived by her sister; Carolyn "Kit" Shepperd, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, brother; Steve Walker and Leila of Bentonville, daughter; Linda Taylor Flute and David, daughter; Lisa Taylor, son; Nick Taylor and Gina Roberts, all of Gentry, Arkansas, 11 grandchildren 22 1/2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Kay's life celebration will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Lake Wedington Lodge, 15592 Lake Wedington Entry Rd., Fayetteville, AR. We will begin with a meal at 1 PM, with the life celebration to follow there will be a $5 parking fee (because it is a state park) If you are unable to pay the parking fee, leave your name at the gate and we will take care of it. We are looking forward to sharing many memories of Kay's life.
