ETHEL A. MORGAN
Ethel Alice Morgan, 99, of 1200 Trinity, Apt. No. 16, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at her home.

Born July 20, 1899, in Mulkeytown, Ill., she was the daughter of Bennett and Anna Zimmer Edwards. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Flora Golliher.

Survivors include a grandchild.

Graveside serviced will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale, Ill. Burial will be under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home of Christopher, Ill. Local arrangements were by Young's Funeral Directors.

MARY A. PYLE
Graveside services for Mary Ann Griffin Pyle, 81, of Gladewater, Texas, and formerly of El Dorado, will be at 1 p.m. today in Parkers Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Don Beebe officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater.

EARNEST ROSS
Earnest Ross, 83, of 809 Louis St., died Thursday, April 29, 1999 at Medical Center of South Arkansas.

Arrangements will be announced by Andrews Funeral Home.

The family will be at 2214 Houston St.

IRIS I. WILSON
Iris Inex Ledbetter Wilson, 92, of Haynesville, La., died Thursday, April 29, 1999 in Homer, La.

Arrangements will be announced by Rumph-Owers Funeral Home.

JACQUITA GREER
Jacquita Phillips Greer, 76, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Courtyard Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 21, 1932, in El Dorado, to Chester Phillips and Dorothy Tackett Phillips. She was a retired property manager of apartment complexes in Little Rock and Conway, and a member of the Home Builders Association and Association of Real Estate Managers.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Jerry Phillips; and a grandson, Matthew Ryan Welch.

Survivors include a daughter, Monica Gray and her husband, Freddie Michael, of Calion; a son, Matt Mitcham and his wife, Alesia, of Pell City, Ala.; one brother, Chester D. Phillips; a sister, Joan Phillips; grandchildren Robin Welch Orr and Peyton and Ellie Mitcham; and great-grandchildren, Katie Ryan Warner and Alyssa Orr.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family will be at 146 Clawson in Calion.

Memorials may be made to Life Touch Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

HUBERT STRICKLIN
Hubert Stricklin, 82, of Magnolia, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in Homer Memorial Hospital in Homer, La.

Arrangements will be announced by Henderson’s Funeral Service of Magnolia.

VERA E. THOMPSON
Vera Estell Thompson, 91, of Grambling, La., died Friday, April 25, 2008, in Dallas.

The daughter of Jack and Fannie Bennett Faulk, she was born June 22, 1917, in Summerfield, La. She was a member of Rockey Valley Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Thompson; a daughter, Dorothy Glosson; a sister, Lola Bullock; and two brothers, Hardy and J. Faulk.

Survivors include two sons, Theodore Roosevelt Thompson of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Hardin Thompson of Los Angeles; four daughters, Earnestine Payne of Grambling, Mary Helen Wainright of El Dorado, Margaret Ann Scott of New Orleans, and Peregrine Thompson of Los Angeles; one sister, Youtha Mae Thompson of Bernice, La.; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Summerfield. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Summerfield under the direction of Our Christian Funeral Home of Ruston, La.

GENE FILLMORE
Gene Fillmore, 72, of El Dorado, and formerly of Cottonwood Falls, Kan., died Monday, April 30, 2008, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.

He was born June 7, l935, and was the son of Edward William Fillmore and Zelda Grace Spain Fillmore. Gene was a truck driver by trade and drove a truck his whole life. He last drove for Frank Thompson Trucking before retiring. He enjoyed the freedom of riding a motorcycle, and did so in his spare time. He loved his family who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marion “Hop” Fillmore.

Survivors include his loving wife of 14 years, Mary Carol Fillmore of El Dorado; a son, Kevin Miller of Cottonwood Falls; a stepson, Tim Green of Crossett; stepdaughters, Linda Stuart of Benbrook, Texas, Brenda Rogriguez of Benbrook, Texas, and Tammy Foster of Romance; brothers, Robert Fillmore of Strong City, Kan., and Bill Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls; sisters, Peggy Kent of Smackover, Pat Donelson of Cottonwood Falls, Betty Yoakem of Kennesaw, Ga., Carole Talley of Rockport, Texas, Carla Gibb of Charlotte, N.C., and Kay Kleinsorge of Buda, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bazaar Cemetery in Bazaar, Kan., under the direction of Brown Bennett Alexander Funeral Home of Cottonwood Falls. Local arrangements were made by Perry’s Funeral Chapels of El Dorado.

Memorials can be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

MARTHA M. KIRK
Martha Maxine Kirk, 81, of Camden, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Raymond Jones Sr., Marice Lee Hines and Buford Doyle Kirk; her parents, Newman Hartsfield and Willa Mae Frizzell; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Jones.

Survivors include her sons, William Raymond Jones Jr. and his wife, Rita, of Bartlett, Tenn., and Randy Lee Jones and his wife, Theresa, of Camden; a brother, Donnie Floyd Frizzell of Franklin, La.; grandchildren, Deanna Faye Jones of Daphne, Ala., Traci Rae DeLeon of San Pedro, Calif., Courtney Layne Jones of Springdale and Jason Paul Jones and his wife, Joana, of Magnolia; great-grandchildren, Ivy Marie Creel and Morgan Drew Creel of San Pedro, Brett M. Jones and Chad A. Jones of Daphne, and Kirk Edward Jones and Kiley “Beth” Jones of Magnolia.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden with burial in Arlington Cemetery in El Dorado.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home in Camden is in charge of arrangements.

DOROTHY N. WEBSTER
Dorothy Nell Ford Webster, 48, of El Dorado, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.

The daughter of Willie C. Billings and Dorothy Faye Ford Billings, she was born June 30, 1959, in El Dorado. She worked as a cashier at Quick Trip Convenience Store in Junction City. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church No. 1 in Lisbon, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Dewayne Ford of Epps, La.; one daughter, Yolanda Dynell Ford of Little Rock; one brother, Willie T. Ford of El Dorado; two sisters, Patricia Smith of Little Rock and Laura Wright of Lillie, La.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in the Old Hillsboro Community with the Rev. J.W. Steward officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.

Public viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family will be at 222 Hoof Road in Lillie.
