DONALD G. ALEXANDER
Donald Gene Alexander, 62, of Camden, and formerly of Louann, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.

Arrangements will be announced by Williams Funeral Home of Camden.

DAWN GOOD
Dawn Good, 34, of Magnolia, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Arrangements will be announced by A.O. Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.

FREDDIE J. MICHAEL
Freddie Joe Michael, 55, of Calion, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.

He was born Feb. 11, 1953, in El Dorado, to Freddie Paul Michael and Edna Lee Fletcher Michael. He worked as an auto salesman for W.P. Godsey and loved hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ricky Michael.

Survivors include a son, Courtney Michael and his wife, Janna, of Little Rock; a daughter, Meagan Michael of El Dorado; a brother, Max Michael and his wife, Charlotte, of Greenwood, Miss.; and best friend and companion, Monica Gray of Calion.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Chapel with the Rev. Phil Pinckard officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Mount Holly under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

There will be no formal visitation. The family will receive friends and family at 146 Clawson in Calion.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association Memorial and Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653; or to UCAPS, 1000 Sunset Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

CHARLES MURPHY
Charles Murphy, of Richmond, Calif., and formerly of El Dorado, died Monday, April 28, 2008, in Richmond.

Arrangements will be announced by Stewart Rose Manor in Richmond.

MAURO MORENO
Mauro “Ace” Moreno, 55, of Lawson, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at his home following a long illness.

Born on Jan. 12, 1953, in Merkel, Texas, he was the son of Jesus and Maria Garcia Moreno. Mr. Moreno was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He worked as a painter in auto body shops and later as a painter in the construction trade.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Robert Moreno; and sisters, Maggie “Hope” Tobar and Janie Jaramillo.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Jerry Moreno of Lawson; a son, Jeffery “Ace” Moreno of El Dorado; daughters, Bridget White of El Dorado, Zoeie Plyler and her husband, Jack, of Little Rock, and Halie Moreno of Lawson; his mother, Maria Moreno of Merkel; brothers, Ramon Moreno, Jesus Moreno Jr. and his wife, Goodrin, Hijino Moreno, his twin Mario “B” Moreno, Daniel Moreno, all of Merkel; grandchildren, Ashley White, T.J. White, Kayln Moreno, Addison Plyler, and Olivia Plyler.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Liberty Baptist Church in Lawson with the Revs. Ronnie Robins and Clay Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Memorials maybe made to Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

Harold F Grimmett
(February 18, 1927 - October 14, 2011)

U.S. Veteran

Harold F Grimmett, 84 of El Dorado, AR; died on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness of two weeks following a stroke.

Born on February 18, 1927 in Mc Neil, AR, he was the son of Benjamin and Ruby Staggs Grimmett. Harold was a member of Iron Mountain Baptist Church and served as the church’s music director. Harold was known locally for the past 42 years for his gospel radio program receiving ‘The Golden Mic Award’ in 2009 from the Singing News Magazine. Harold had also worked for KTVE as a weatherman, and host of ‘The Rise and Shine Show’ in the stations early years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Harold was known for his love of Southern Gospel Music and promoting this wonderful music for over 40 years. He also sang in several quartets, led many choirs, youth groups and was well known and loved by many Southern Gospel Artists. He was proud of and loved his grandkids. He had a big heart and helped many people. Many young people have come back to him through the years to say THANKS for pointing them down the right path

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Alice Cox.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Doris ‘Sue’ Hudgens Grimmett of El Dorado, a son Rev. Allen (Cindy) Grimmett, of Junction City, a daughter Nancy (Buster) Norris of El Dorado, along with grandchildren, Jeff (Ashley ) Norris, Angela Norris, Michael Norris, Karen Miller, Katie Grimmett, Nick Chadwick, and a great granddaughter McKenzie Chadwick, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Iron Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Grimmett and Rev. Jimmy Sayers officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery near Waldo, AR. Pallbearers are Jeff Norris, Michael Norris, Nick Chadwick, Michael Brown, Mike Hogg, and Eddie Bolin. Honorary pallbearers are Don Tanner, Randy Dunn, Rick Warren, Jerry Mc Lelland, Frank Mc Lelland, Bill Mc Lelland, KIXB 103, and the many Christian sponsors of ' The Sunday Morning Gospel Radio Program'.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado. Memorials may be made to Iron Mountain Baptist Church, 2227 Iron Mountain Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

Violet Jones Griffith
(December 18, 1919 - October 13, 2011)

Violet Jones Griffith, 91 of El Dorado, AR; died on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Beacon Hospice in Longview, TX following a brief illness.

Born on December 18, 1919 in El Dorado, AR; she was the daughter of Roy and Jesse Croswell Jones. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. Violet was preceded in death her parents, her brothers Elton Jones and Shirley Jones, a sister Myrtle Price, a grandchild Darrell Griffith, two great grandchildren, and her husband Malvin E Griffith.

Survivors are sons Roy Malvin Griffith of Diana, TX, Johnny Wayne Griffith of Midlothian, TX, Ricky Dean Griffith of Comanche, TX, daughters Linda Carol Trapp of Russellville, AR, Patricia Ann Washington of Pontotoc, MS, Regina Michele Simmons of Diana, TX, along with 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3 pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Scotland Cemetery near Junction City, AR with Rev. Ricky Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.

Sally A. Childs
(July 18, 1943 - September 28, 2011)

Sally A. Childs, 68 of El Dorado, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness.

Born July 18, 1943 in Winnfield, Louisiana she was the daughter of Drexel and Ilean Gunter Hall. Mrs. Childs was an administrative assistant having been employed in churches, medical offices and attorney's offices for over forty years. She was member of the Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was her husband, Charles H. Childs.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Dumas and her husband Kenneth and Kathy Tighe all of El Dorado. Also surviving is a sister, Barbara Prudhome and her husband Danny of Waskom, TX, five grandchildren and a special friend, James McMenis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, October 3, 2011 in Bailey Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Merle York and Rev. Dale Prudhome officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Cleo Richardson Mease
(January 18, 1909 - September 10, 2011)

Cleo L. Richardson Mease, 102, of El Dorado, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Cleo was born January 18, 1909 in Sciota, IL to Albert Wilson and Vada (Granville) Lee. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord at the age of 9 while attending a Billy Sunday Revival.

Cleo married Howard L. Richardson in 1929 and they farmed near Sciota for most of the 1930’s and early 1940’s. Cleo also worked at the local A & P Grocery. During World War II they moved to Burlington, Iowa and worked in the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant to help the war effort. After the plant closed in 1945, they sold the farm, moved to Macomb, IL and opened Richardson’s Grocery & Meat Market. Cleo also worked in the catalog department of Montgomery Ward.

Cleo received a B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. from Western Illinois University and taught in the Vermont-Ipava-Table Grove (VIT) Consolidated School District until 1979. After 52 years of marriage Howard died in 1982. Cleo then moved to Sun City, Arizona where she married Clyde Mease who passed away in 1986. She moved to El Dorado in 2005.

A lifelong Methodist, Cleo was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. Deers, a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed attending Aglow meetings on a regular basis. She enjoyed playing bridge, and bird watching; she loved humming birds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, four sisters, six brothers-in-law and three nephews.

Survivors include her children, Sandra (George) Maguire of El Dorado, Randy Richardson of Grand Prairie, TX, three grandsons, Jim Maguire of Austin, TX, Kevin (Aleksandra) Maguire of Boston, MA and James Richardson of Burleson, TX along with four great-grandchildren, three nephews and four nieces.

A Remembrance Reception will be held Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul United Methodist Church, 700 W. 8th St., El Dorado from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hudson Memorial Nursing Home and the caregivers from Life Touch Hospice for the gentle, loving care given to Cleo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 700 W. 8th St., El Dorado, AR 71730 or to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

Cremation services are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, IL at a later date.
