Christie Gail Miller
August 7, 1972 - August 27, 2012

Christie Gail Miller, 40, of Benton, AR passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. She was born August 7, 1972 in Freeport, TX.

She was a 1990 graduate of Junction City High School. She was a loving daughter, wife, and mother.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Martin and one step-sister, Buffy Paxton.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dennis Miller of Benton, AR; one daughter, Jordan Raye Miller of Benton, AR; her father and step-mother, Albert and Nancy Hux of El Dorado, AR; one step-brother, David Stettenbeaz and a host of extended family and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30pm Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Mt. Union Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Goodwin and Bro. Paul Sheets officiating. Arrangements were by Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Johnnie Hershel Woodle
April 6, 1923 - September 3, 2012

Johnnie H. Woodle, age 89 of El Dorado, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 at his home in El Dorado. He was born on April 6, 1923 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Oscar and Clair Woodle. Johnnie was a U.S. Air force Veteran serving in World War II. He was a retired truck driver for Chemical Leamon of Lake Charles, LA. Johnnie enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and was a loving Father, Grandfather and Friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lillian Delores Woodle and by four brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, Johnny L. Woodle and wife Evelyn of Crossett, AR, Ricky Woodle of Pine Bluff, AR, Kevin Woodle and wife Angela of El Dorado; two daughters, Brenda Novack and Donna Woodle both of El Dorado; two grandchildren, Ashlin Woodle and Kevin Allen Woodle both of El Dorado; one sister, Velma Lee Bell of FT. Jesup, LA; one brother, Kenneth Woodle of Richmond, VA. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Inmon officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery near Smackover under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 5-7 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home.

W.A. "Gus" Lowery
December 25, 1930 - February 27, 2013

Wesson, AR - Funeral services honoring the life of William Augustus “Gus” Lowery, 82, will be held at the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in Haynesville on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Shirey and Dr. Shelby Cowling, officiating. Interment will follow at Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.

Gus was born on December 25, 1930 in Ruby, South Carolina, the son of J.G. and Grace Coker Lowery. A 1948 graduate of Junction City High School, he began his career in Funeral Service with the Pratt/Barton Funeral Home in Junction City and later with Rumph Funeral Home in El Dorado. Gus was a graduate of the Worsham Mortuary College in Chicago, Illinois and has been a dual licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Arkansas since 1954 and Louisiana since 1965. His career has also affiliated him with the Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport, Caruth Funeral Home in Hot Springs and since 1971 with Bailey Funeral Homes, with most of his time serving the families of the Haynesville, LA area. He was a member of Wesson Baptist Church. Gus entered into rest Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in El Dorado, Arkansas following a lengthy illness.

Gus was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara; his step-mother, Bessie Lowery; and one son, W.A. “Little Gus” Lowery, Jr.

Surviving him are two sons, John William Lowery of Monroe, LA and W. Scott Lowery and his wife, Rebecca Ann Odom Lowery of Homer; two grandsons, Adam Paul Scott Lowery of Conroe, TX and William Cody Lowery of Homer; and longtime friend, Mike Caldwell of Wesson, AR.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Morgan, Keith Morgan, Ben Booth, Ed Langston, and Jeff Garrett.

Bailey Funeral Home - Haynesville, LA

William Elmer Taylor
May 30, 1921 - December 31, 2012

William Elmer Taylor, age 91 of Junction City, passed from this life on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. Elmer was born on May 30, 1921 in Foreman, AR to the late Thomas Earl and Annie (Jones) Taylor.

Elmer was U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II. He worked as a Senior Operator for Monsanto Chemical, serving forty years before his retirement and was a member of The First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado. After retirement, Elmer drove a school bus for Junction City Schools and also enjoyed raising a vegetable garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carmen Taylor; one son, William Alvin Taylor; four sisters and three brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory include two grandchildren, Jillinn “Jill” White of Atlanta, GA and A.J. Taylor and his wife Molly of El Dorado; two great granddaughters, Addy Taylor and Lilly Taylor both of El Dorado; daughter in law, Sharon Taylor of El Dorado; two sisters, Alma Pickens of Locksburg, AR and Eula Bandy of Orange, TX also, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Bailey Chapel in Junction City with Pastor Al Womack officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Junction City.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

Beverley June Clark
May 31, 1936 - January 8, 2013

Beverley J. Clark passed Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Wentworth Place Nursing Home at the age of 76. She was born May 31, 1936 in Oklahoma City, OK to Louis G. and Glennis M. (McCleary) Donnell.

She was a retired Secretary for Albemarle Corporation. Beverley enjoyed reading books and reading the daily news paper. Most of all she enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rodney Jewell Clark, one son, Steve Clark.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Carol Longino and husband, Toby of Magnolia, AR; her son, Brad Clark of Magnolia, AR; one sister, Glenda Lou Clanahan and Richard of Oklahoma City, OK; two grandsons, Austin Staggs and Adam Staggs; two granddaughters, Megan Longino and Kelli Longino all of Magnolia, AR; a niece and nephew and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Waldo Cemetery with Bro. Daniel Clark officiating under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Falisa Faline (Fly) Welch
May 18, 1966 - December 31, 2012

Falisa Faline (Fly) Welch, age 46 of El Dorado, passed from this life on Monday, December 31, 2012 at her home in El Dorado. She was born on May 18, 1966 in FT. Smith, AR to parents, Joseph Paul Fly and Sandra Lee Brown. Falisa was a member of the Blanchard Springs Baptist Church and was an avid M&M;’s and Elvis Memorabilia Collector. She was an animal lover and especially loved her three dogs; Prissy, Dottie and Peanut. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and grandmother, whom will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and by her father, Joseph Paul “Jay” Fly.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jeff Welch of El Dorado; her mother, Sandra Campbell of El Dorado; two sons, Roddy Johns and his wife Brittany and Colton Johns all of Cleveland, MS; one grandson, Owen Gill Johns of Cleveland; three sisters, Fonda Hicks and her husband Richard also of Cleveland, Debbie Kelly and her husband Bill of El Dorado and Karen McElroy and her husband Ricky of Dallas, TX; Step Mother, Kay Fly of El Dorado and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to service time at Blanchard Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Blanchard Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Allan Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Lois Laree Kinard Allen

December 26, 1917 - February 16, 2010

Lois Laree Kinard Allen, 92 of Austin, TX, formerly of El Dorado, AR, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Barton Hill Assisted Living following a lengthy illness.

Born on December 26, 1917 near Marysville in Union County, AR, she was the daughter of Hattie Olive Helms, a native of El Dorado, and George William Kinard- the son of pioneer Union County Baptist minister Charlie Pratt Kinard and Nancy Anna Hanry, whose parents were early New Hope pioneers Mathilda and George Emins Hanry.

For 55 years Lois lived in El Dorado, AR, not far from the farms in the Marysville and Spotsville communities where she and her husband were born and raised. She moved to Austin, TX, following a light stroke on June 16, 2005. She and her husband Curtis D Allen, were married for 62 years before his death in 1997. They began their married life in 1934 on the farm of his parents, Della Smith and Walter H Allen in Spotsville, AR, Columbia County, and in the 1950's moved to El Dorado, where Curtis was employed at American Oil's refinery and later went into the furniture business at the Trading Post and Discount Furniture.

Lois was a homemaker, well known for her skills in the kitchen, especially her chicken and dumplings, sweet lime pickles, pies and cakes. She wore out her hands canning figs, blackberries, pickles, and vegetables from her garden, but her real love was fishing. She was also a skilled seamstress who made clothing for herself and her four daughters; she volunteered this skill for 25 years at Hudson Nursing home in El Dorado.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church in El Dorado, where she served for many years as a Sunday School teacher and chair of the food committee.

Lois was predeceased by her five brothers Wade, Pettus, Curtis, Clarence and Grady Kinard and three sisters Reva Perritt, Ruth Davis and Lillian McIlveene.

Survivors include four daughters and their families: Kay and Ernest Grayson of Bald Knob, AR; Marjorie Wells Lensgraf of Knoxville, TN; Phoebe Sue Allen and Dick Kallerman of Austin, TX; and Carol and Woodrow Smoak of Palm City, FL; five grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren who live in Arkansas, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York City and Florida. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces and three sisters- in- law: Doris Allen Roberson, Emma Jean Allen Hendricks and Bennie Kinard.

Funeral services will be 10 am, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Bethlehem Baptist Church near Spotsville, AR. with Dr. Dwain Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the churchs cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado. Memorials may be made to Hope Landing in El Dorado, Harbor of Hope in Stuart, FL www.harborofhopeinc.com, or the cemetery funds for Bethlehem or Marysville church.
