Ida Mae Humphries Maroney

October 22, 1922 - December 9, 2012

Ida Mae Humphries Maroney, age 90 of El Dorado, formerly of Huttig, AR, passed from this life on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Hudson Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in El Dorado. She was born on October 22, 1922 in Union County to the late John Cleveland White and Victoria (Hendrix) White. Mae was the retired veteran’s service officer for the Veterans Administration, serving more than twenty years. She loved her job and was proud to assist the many veterans whom served our country. Mae enjoyed working in her yard, whether she was tending to her flowers or working in the garden. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Strong and especially enjoyed going on mission trips, where she assisted with the cooking. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, sister and friend. She loved cooking a big meal and just getting together to spend time with all of her family. She also was a caring person, whom was always taking care of others in her own special way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Roy Humphries; second husband, James A. Maroney; one sister, Girther Little and by four brothers, Corbit White, John Lee White, Vernon White and E.L. White.

Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Donald Ray Humphries and his wife June of Biloxi, MS, Linda Humphries Burson and her husband George of Strong and Bill Humphries and his wife Pam of El Dorado; nine grandchildren, Donna Humphries of Memphis, TN, Daphne Obarr of Biloxi, Debra Humphries of Biloxi, D.J. Humphries of Baltimore, Maryland, Tim Burson of Little Rock, Heather Burson of Billings, Montana, Daniel Burson of Billings, Montana, Shade Humphries of El Dorado and Jeremy Humphries of Austin, AR; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; one sister, Sarah Vestal of Huttig and one brother, Billy Ray White of Strong. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Strong, with Bro. Gerald Perry officiating, assisted by Bro. Bill Odom and Bro. Scotty Guillot. Burial will follow at Sweet Home Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado. Pallbearers will be D.J Humphries, Tim Burson, Daniel Burson, Ethan Burson, Shade Humphries, Jeremy Humphries and Trent Dugal.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to everyone who helped take care of Mrs. Maroney from Hudson Nursing Home and Life Touch Hospice. Memorials may be made to Life Touch Hospice or to the Missions fund of First Baptist Church in Strong.

Dorothy Ware Rushing

December 16, 1934 - August 27, 2011

Dorothy Ware Rushing, 76 of El Dorado, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Born December 16, 1934 in Haynesville, LA she was the daughter of Arla M and Vivian Carter Ware who preceded her in death. Mrs. Rushing was a homemaker and a member of Rhodes Chapel United Methodist Church.

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, William M. Rushing of El Dorado, three sons, Randy Rushing and his wife Beth of Memphis, TN, Jerry Rushing and his wife Sharon of Huntington Beach, CA and Tom Rushing and his wife Mary of Kingwood, TX along with two sisters, Wanda Duncan and husband John of Emerson, AR and Peggy Pease and her husband Kyle of Kennewick, WA. Surviving grandchildren are Brandon Rushing, Candace Rushing, Cameron Rushing, Maggie Page all of Memphis, TN, Jessica Davis and her husband Bryan, David Rushing, Jacob Rushing, all of Huntington Beach, CA, Matthew Rushing and Shelby Rushing both of Kingwood, TX along with one great-grandson, Landon Davis of Huntington Beach, CA.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Rhodes Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. James Rawls officiating. Interment will follow in Rhodes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P. M.

Memorials may be made to the Rhodes Chapel Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 131, Lawson, AR 71750.

Dalbert Grant (Blackie) Williams

December 25, 1934 - January 17, 2012

Dalbert G. Blackie Williams, age 77, of Junction City passed away January 17, 2012 at John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born December 25, 1934 in Union County, Arkansas to Kirby and Elise Idell (Bryant) Williams.

He worked in the oilfield and retired from Santa Fe Intl as a Drilling Superintendent.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dovie Williams, one brother, Max Williams, and one grandson, Brody Williams.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Norene L. Williams; five daughters, Renee W. Aycock and husband, Greg, Malette W. Lagarde and husband, John, Becky Paige, Barby Todd and Carlene King; four grandchildren, Brinkley Aycock, Brennon Aycock, Renee Lagarde, John E. Lagarde; two great grandchildren, three nephews, Tony Williams, Keith Williams, Max Kirby Williams, one sister in law, Peggy Sue Williams and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00pm Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City with Rev. Lynn McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, Ar.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.

June Hardy
May 7, 1927 - December 29, 2012

June Hardy, of Clinton, AR went to be with her lord on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Greenbrier Nursing Home & Rehab in Greenbrier, AR. at the age of 85. She was born in Atkins, AR on May 5, 1927 to Mark and Ester (Johnson) Cordrey.

In addition to raising a family, June worked 28 yrs. as a Registered Surgical Nurse at Union Medical Center, now known as South Arkansas Medical Center in El Dorado. She was of the Catholic faith. June was a multi-talented lady who not only read but was an author of poetry and also designed and had published many of her crochet patterns. She was also a proud lifetime member of the NRA. Anyone who knew June, knew that she loved to “wet a hook”. She loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing as often as she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Susan Hardy and Linda Pat Meador.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Pat Hardy of Clinton, AR; two daughters, Ann Hardy Shipp of El Dorado; Joni Whitener and Neil of Benton, AR; three grandsons. Logan Shipp of Ft. Louis, WA; Jacob Billingsley and Britni of Benton, AR; Keenan Billingsley and Katie of Austin, TX; one granddaughter, Hannah Oglesby and Tyler of San Diego, CA; one great grandson, Abe Billingsley of Benton, AR and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Father Gregory Pilcher and Father Chuck Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00-2:00pm prior to service time.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Billingsley, Keenan Billingsley, Logan Shipp, Tony Courtney, Jerry Arnold, Michael Arnold.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at 320 N. Greenwood Ave., Ft. Smith, AR 72901

Deborah Ann "Debbie" Allen Young

September 27, 1954 - September 1, 2010

Taylor, AR (Shiloh Community) - Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Ann Debbie Allen Young, age 55, will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Stateline Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Pickard officiating. Interment will follow in Stateline Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Inc.

Visitation will begin Friday at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Mrs. Young was born September 27, 1954 in Springhill, LA to Howard Samuel and Ollie Bell Roberts Allen and passed away September 1, 2010 in Bossier City, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, was a member of Stateline Missionary Baptist Church, was a graduate of Bradley High School, Bradley, AR and Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, AR. Mrs. Young received her nursing degree in 1986 and was a registered nurse for 26 years.

She is survived by her husband, Benny M. Young, Jr.; her sons, David Wade Budwah of Charleston, SC, Johnathan John Eugene Budwah of Taylor, AR; grandson, Austin Montana Budwah; sister, Alicia Allen Vollmer and husband, Terral of Benton, LA; nieces, Cristin, Jackie and Lindsey; nephews, Justin and Tyler; brother-in-law, Terry Harris and wife, Kelly of Taylor, AR and a host of other friends and loved ones.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shelia Allen Harris.

Pallbearers will be Justin Harris, Tyler Harris, James Young, Brian Clark, Rodney Hodges and Jared Vollmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Matt Stephens,Jeff Helms and Lonnie Young, Jr.

September 3, 1938 - December 24, 2012

Thomas Ray Aaron, Sr. age 74, of Huttig, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 in his home. Cremation arrangements were provided by Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Marcile "Peggy" Hudson Johnson

October 14, 1931 - January 4, 2013

Funeral services for Marcile “Peggy” Hudson Johnson, age 81, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2012 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lyn Story officiating. Burial will be in the Welcome Cemetery, Taylor, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson was born October 14, 1931 in Carthage, TX to A. L. and Jewel Soape Hudson and died Friday, January 4, 2013 in Plano, TX. She was a former resident of this area and had lived in the Dallas, TX area the past six years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church and a retired LPN.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary E. and James Pace of Plano, TX; son, Roy Stephen Edwards of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Angela Thompson and husband, Pat; Scott Lemons and wife, Liz; Anthony Lemons; Tammy Walters and husband, Shane; great-grandchildren, Drew, Abby, Anna, Jocie, Savannah, Cori, Sophia, Grayson and Madison; brothers, Bo Hudson and wife, Joyce of Sarepta, LA and Buddy Hudson of Shreveport, LA.

Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Lemons, Scott Lemons, Pat Thompson, Shane Walters, James Pace and Drew Horst.
