Rose Raye Eason

August 5, 1931 - May 5, 2012

Rose R. Eason, age 80, of Crossett, AR passed from this life on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. She was born on August 5, 1931 in Higgins, TX to the late Samuel Eldon and Novie Ann (George) Ferrell.

Rose attended The Lighthouse Family Church near Hamburg. Rose was a devout Christian woman who loved her Lord and knew where she was going. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She especially was looking forward to the arrival of her first great great grandson due to arrive in September.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William (Bill) Eason; two sisters, Artie Green and Sammie Price; one son, James Eason; one daughter, Susie Eason; one great grandson, Cameron Martin.

Those left to cherish her memory include; one son, William Jesse Eason JR of Huntsville, TX; one daughter, Dollie Stephenson of Crossett; nine grandchildren, Carol Meurer, Ricky Stephenson, Cheryl Lynn Atkins, Anson Stephenson, Misty Denise Miller, Chrissy Lea Rivas, William Jesse Eason III, Andy Mahan and Candy Mahan; nine great grandchildren, Heather Russell, Edith Meurer, Charlene Stephenson, Shawn Wilson, Irissa Wilson, Cody Stephenson, Seth Duncan, Devin Eason and Dalton Barnett; one sister, Elsie Russell; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Lighthouse Family Church near Hamburg with Bro. Warren Finney, Sister Julia Finney and Bro. Tim Johnson Officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park in El Dorado under the direction of Bailey Funeral home of El Dorado.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm at the Lighthouse Family Church.

Pallbearers will be Anson Stephenson, Ricky Stephenson, Jimmy Atkins, Charles Meurer, Cody Stephenson, Warren Russell, Russ Miller and Rudy Rivas.

Selma Garner

February 25, 1919 - May 8, 2012

Selma Garner, age 93 of Houston, TX, formerly of El Dorado, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in Cypress, TX. She was born on February 25, 1919 in Huttig, Ar to the late N.P. and Lula (McCloud) Impson. Selma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Quentin Garner; son, Larry Garner; two brothers, Telford Impson and Chester Impson; one sister, Betheral Craven.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Rod Garner and wife Laurie of Houston; one daughter, Sharon Kincaid and husband Michael of Austin; daughter in law, Courtney Shows; eight grandchildren, Troy Garner and wife Lane, Kelli Unkle and husband Jeff, Brian Garner, Ashley Porter and husband Holland, Melissa Anderson, Tol Kincaid and wife Cindy, Michael Kincaid, Don Kincaid and wife Diane; Also, nine great grandchildren, Courtney Porter, Ella Garner, Miller Garner, Cara Kincaid, Bret Kincaid, Travis Kincaid, Alex Kincaid, Jennifer Smith, and Thomas Kincaid

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado with Rev. Jim Polk Officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Dorothy C. Dickson

October 12, 1921 - November 5, 2012

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy C. Dickson, age 91, will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Dale Strother officiating. Interment will follow in Waldo Cemetery, Waldo, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday, November 9, 2012 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Dickson was born October 12, 1921 in Stamps, AR to Arnold and Nina Earl Fields Callicott and passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 in Mt. Pleasant, TX. She had been a resident of this area since 1949, was a faithful member Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired school teacher of 26 years of Browning Elementary School where she taught second grade. Mrs. Dickson was a graduate of Stamps High School, South Arkansas University, Tech and Auburn. She was also a member of Good Sam’s Club, Classy Contessas Red Hat Society, has won the Teacher of the Year Award and loved kids and making learning fun.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Yocum of Daingerfield, TX; grandson, Tommy Yocum of Diana, TX, Andy Yocum and wife, Ning of Houston, TX, David Yocum and wife, Laurie of Chandler, AZ, Michael Yocum and wife, Cindy of Daingerfield, TX; great grandchildren, Mitchel, Allison, William, Ashleigh; brother, James David Callicott and wife, Doris of Sevierville, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dickson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul E. Dickson; infant daughter, Marsha Lynn Dickson and brothers, Richard and Walter Callicott.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Tommy Yocum, Andy Yocum, David Yocum, Michael Yocum, Mitchel Yocum and William Yocum. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Harold “Smiley” Nehls, B.T. “Joe” Powell and Harold McEachern.

Connie Primm

December 11, 1964 - June 17, 2011

Connie Hunter Primm of El Dorado, AR; went to her heavenly family on Friday, June 17, 2011.

Connie was born on December 11, 1964 to Gary and Billie Price Hunter of Homer, LA. Connie and Tony were married for eight years and lived in the Faircrest community. Connie fought a long brave battle with cancer. Connie was loved by many friends and family. She will be missed by all but, Connie knew that she will see them all again. She was preceded in death by her beautiful and missed sister Theresa Smith of Minden, LA.

She is survived her parents, a sister Tammy Merritt, as well as her patient and loving husband Tony Primm of El Dorado, she has two great boys David Allen Hunter and Colton Foster both of El Dorado and both perfect nurses during her illness.

A memorial services will be 10 am, Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating.

The family would like to thank the many precious souls who fought alongside Connie including Jennifer and Penne the wonderful nurses of hospice and countless friends and family.

Vonda Maxine Whorton
August 5, 1922 - October 28, 2012

Vonda Maxine Whorton, age 90 of El Dorado, passed from this life on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. She was born on August 5, 1922 in Plainview, AR to the late James David and Mary Alice (Alexander) Billings. Before retirement, Vonda worked in the nursery at both Warner Brown Hospital and Union Medical Center for many years. She became a Jehovah’s Witness on June 9, 1956 and loved to do her ministry work for Jehovah. She was much loved by all her brothers and sisters in Faith and she loved all of them in return. She spent the last two years at Courtyard Health and Rehab where she loved the staff and they loved her.

Teddy said, our father was our rock, from him we got our strength and endurance. Mom was our pillar, a soft shoulder we could lean on in times of pain. From a splinter in a finger to a broken heart, we were blessed to have both of them for our entire lives. She will be missed.

Vonda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, Billy Harrison Whorton; two brothers, Floyd Billings and Billy Billings; one sister; Hazel Langrell; one infant son, Tommy Whorton and one infant great grandson, Christopher Chase Helms.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Sidney David Whorton and Teddy Wayne Whorton both of El Dorado; two daughters, Carolyn Yvonne Helms of Jersey, AR and Wanda June Kooms of El Dorado; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Billings of England, AR and two sisters, Martha Lou Whorton of Vallejo, CA and Zelma Dine Brown of Little Rock.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, October 31st, 2012, at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Bailey Chapel with Bro. Floyd Davis and Bro. Thomas Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Rehobeth Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Pallbearers will be Kirk McCrary, Jeff Billings, Christopher Helms, David Helms, Tyrone Davis and Tommie Harris.

Beverly Joy "Skinney" Elliott

February 23, 1948 - June 19, 2011

Mrs. Beverly Joy Skinney Elliott, 63 of Greenville, NC., and formerly of El Dorado, AR; died on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at University Healthcare Systems in Greenville, NC. following a lengthy illness.

Born on February 23, 1948 in Newnan, GA; she was the daughter of Ruth and Pierce Shaw. Beverly was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Smackover, AR. She was preceded in death by her father, her brothers Charles, Glenn, Tim and Red Shaw, her husband Eddie J Booty Elliott.

Survivors are daughters Catrina Skeen of Cottageville, WV and Beverly Fran Tyler of Pikeville, NC, sons William Billy Gray of Phoenix, AZ and Thomas Elliott of Pikeville, NC, her mother Ruth Shaw and sister Linda McDonald both of Newnan, GA, along with five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 2 pm, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Green Grove Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Lonnie Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery at Moro Bay. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 pm to 8 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.

Ruby Dell Phelps Callison

March 2, 1933 - March 16, 2012

Ruby Dell (Phelps) Callison, age 79, of Magnolia, Ar. passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at Magnolia Health and Rehab. She was born March 2, 1933 in Brown Springs, Arkansas to Joseph and Nettie (Siratt) Phelps.

She was a homemaker and was a present member of First Christian Church of Kiowa, Kansas and a former member of First United Methodist Church in Magnolia, Ar. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James William Jim Callison, three brothers and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Joseph Glen Callison and wife, Terri of Lenexa, KS; Denny Callison and wife, Lynette of Kiowa, KS and Billy Callison of Magnolia, Ar; two daughters, Debbie Wray and husband, Bobby of Florence, MS; Penny Adams and husband, James of Texarkana, Ar; two brothers, Jimmy Joe Phelps and wife, Sharon of Brown Springs, Ar and Frank Phelps and wife, Wayne of Brown Springs, Ar; two sisters, Bonnie Roberts of Magnolia, Ar and Mary Feree of Ft. Worth, Tx; 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of friends.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS. 39703.

Memorial services will be held at later date. Arrangements are by Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia, Ar.
