Leo Geter

December 31, 1933 - February 5, 2012

Leo Geter, age 78 of Lillie, La. passed from this life on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. He was born on December 31, 1933 in Lillie, La to the late William Gordon and Gladys Cleo (Slater) Geter.

Leo was a retired truck driver and produce farmer. He was also a longtime member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Lillie, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son John Alan Geter, and one sister, Della Jean Pate.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary L. (West) Geter of Lillie, La.; three sons, James Geter and wife, Gail of Lillie, La; Lee Ray Geter and wife Sue of Strong, Ar. and David Geter and wife Renee of Lillie, La.; one daughter, Nancy Ella Lord and husband Marco of Lillie, La.; six grandchildren, Lindsey Ramey and husband Michael of Junction City, Ar.; Phillip Geter and wife Alicia of Lillie, La.; Kristi Bates of El Dorado, Ar.; David Alan Geter, Morgan Geter, and Jessica Geter all of Lillie, La.; four great grandchildren, Keira Vaughan, Ashton Mendenhall, Kylee Bates and Peyton Ramey; one sister, Patsy Ruth Williams and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church in Lillie, La. with Bro. Billy Smith and Bro. Marty Black officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-9 pm at Bethel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

Roberta Bearden
January 6, 1926 - October 30, 2012

Roberta Bearden, formerly of El Dorado, went to be with her lord on Tuesday Oct.30, 2012 in Maumelle, Ar. at the age of 86. She was born January 6, 1926 in Boyd, Tx. to W.C. & Ioma (Ross) Patterson. She was formerly a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Roberta was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family and raising her children. In her later years, Roberta’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.J. Bearden, one brother Ross Patterson, one sister Mildred Murphy,one daughter-n-law Kathy Bearden and one son in law Harold Patterson.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Sheila Patterson of Maumelle, Ar, and Lisa Furto and husband, Gregg of Schererville, In. one son, Michael Bearden and wife Margaret of Little Rock, Ar. one brother, Ralph Patterson of Miami, Fl. six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Thursday evening 5:30 to 7:30 at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday Nov. 2, 2012 at Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Annie Movine "Lucy" Nash

April 2, 1945 - January 18, 2011

Annie Movine Lucy Nash, 65 of El Dorado, AR; died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness.

Lucy was born on April 2, 1945 in Langdale, Alabama; the daughter of Vineyard and Allie Lois Alsobrook Striblin. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, reading and watching hummingbirds from her porch. Lucy was an active member of Murmill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother William J. Striblin, a sister Varada Kyle, a granddaughter Jessica Russell, and her husband James Buddy Nash.

Survivors are a son James (Laurie) Nash of El Dorado, daughters Venita (Billy) Smith and Teresa Nash all of El Dorado, and Lisa (Mark) Russell of Foreman, AR, her brothers Jerry Striblin and Travis Striblin. Also surviving are grandchildren Jared, Valerie, Charity, Carissa, Micah, and Ben (Ashlee) Smith, Ethan Russell and Emily Russell, Madison Doss and Krisa Doss and Holly Kyle, along with great granddaughters Adalynn and Samantha Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 at Murmill Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Churchs Cemetery near Spearsville, LA.

The family will receive friends at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.

Alline Lewis

June 12, 1929 - September 18, 2011

Alline Lewis, 82, of El Dorado, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness.

Born June 12, 1929 at Summerfield, LA she was the daughter of John Granville and Lillian Estelle Cubbage Bailey. Alline had worked as a Nurse's Assistant for Hudson Memorial Nursing Home for over twenty years. She was a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband Rolen Lewis, brothers, Billy Bailey, Nomie Bailey, Cortez Bailey, Spot Bailey and Jigs Bailey and sisters, Mary Lois Martin and Minnie Staggs.

Survivors include a daughter Ann Freeman (Joe) of Homer, LA; 2 sons, Gary Lewis (Joellyn) of Homer, LA, Terry Lewis (Kathy) of Three Creeks, AR; sister, Jenny Bonsel of Minden, LA; a grandson, Mark Freeman (Melissa) of Haynesville, LA; 5 granddaughters, Amy Gray (Lonnie) of Minden, LA, April Freeman of Homer, LA, Terra Bovee (Waylon) of Three Creeks, AR, Tiffany Britton (Lance) of Little Rock, AR, Rebecca Holloway (Stewart) of Pineville, LA; 4 great-granddaughters, Katie Freeman, Allie Kate Britton, Emilee Bovee, Alayna Garry; 4 great-grandsons - Peyton Gray, Will Robinson, Noah Britton, Zach Holloway.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September, 23, 2011 at Bailey Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Stewart Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bonsel, Buddy Bailey, Danny Cole, Kenny Mark Cole, Donnie Ray Cole, and Dough Cole.

Visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR. Thursday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Sgt. William Christopher Long

July 30, 1988 - July 17, 2011

Sgt. William Christopher Long, age 22, of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011. He was born July 30, 1988 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

He spent his childhood in Memphis, Tennessee, St. Petersburg, Florida, El Dorado, Ar. and Magnolia, Ar. He attended El Dorado High School and completed his Sophomore year a Southern Arkansas University. He was currently an active member of Bravo Troop 1-151 Cav. in Magnolia. He was a recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Combat Action Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Arkansas Federal Service Ribbon, Arkansas Emergency Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/ M Device, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Arkansas Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal. He was a member of The Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado, Ar.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James F. Peace and three great aunts, Helen Province, Corene Evers and Pauline Sessions.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, MaryAnna Peace; two sisters, Nichole Long and Adrienne Long; grandmother, Alvarene Peace; one nephew and godson, Ethan Christopher Long all of Magnolia, Ar., girlfriend, Rachel Stover of El Dorado, Ar. and their dog Cleopatra and a host of extended family, his brothers in arms and many friends.

Services will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Kelso officiating and Chaplain Carter Pearce assisting. Full Military Honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Radar, Andrew Molinard, Roy Pryor, Cedrick Brooks, Patrick Carter, Chris Williams, Rudy Stennis, Brady Jackson, C.J. Ellis, Branson Sayers and Scott Snell.

Visitation will be at Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Bobbie McGaugh Langley

November 20, 1932 - February 19, 2011

Bobbie Langley, 78 of Junction City died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness.

Born November 20, 1932 in Union County, Arkansas she was the daughter of A. V. Bun and Jeroline Wallace McGaugh who preceded her in death. She was a licensed hairdresser and a homemaker. Mrs. Langley was a member of Corney Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Langley of Junction City, three sons, Dale Edward Langley (Kim) of Junction City, Dennis Earl Langley of El Dorado and Gary Lynn Langley of Junction City, three sisters, Betty Berry (James) of El Dorado, Ethel Jean Jackson (Jay) of Hendersonville, TN and Patsy Carelock (Julius) of El Dorado along with one brother, Alfred Wayne Buddy McGaugh (Waunita) of El Dorado. Surviving grandchildren are Jason Langley of El Dorado, April Payne (David) of Junction City and Renee and Jessica Langley both of El Dorado and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Cunningham and Jason Payne both of Junction City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 22 at Corney Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest McAdams and Rev. Terrel Langley officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
